Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1899: Chapter 1889: Mom and Dad Are Bullying Us

Wan Caiyue’s voice was a little choked, ”I won’t do it again. It’s just me overthinking, worried that I didn’t have a son, being cautious about everything. I really won’t be like this in the future.”

Bai Zehao reached over and touched her face, worried she might really start crying, but fortunately, her face was dry.

”Silly girl, our parents don’t care about those things, and we’re both young; we’ll have plenty of children in the future.” Bai Zehao said, chuckling lowly, ”Our family doesn’t have that preference for boys. Look at how upset Ruozhu was for not having a daughter. She must be so envious of us.”

Wan Caiyue couldn’t help but laugh, poking his chest with her finger, ”You better not tease Ruozhu like this in front of her. She’s really angry right now.”

”I won’t, I won’t. Do you think your husband is foolish?” Bai Zehao said, his voice lowering, ”I’m not as smart as Second Brother and Little Sister. I almost got tricked by that fake Ruolan this time. You have to remind me more in the future.”

”It’s not that you’re not smart; it’s because your heart is pure, and you truly care about your family. That’s why you were deceived by that fake Ruolan.” Wan Caiyue defended him lovingly, ”If it weren’t for a woman’s intuition, I wouldn’t have discovered anything unusual. How do things like this happen?”

Bai Zehao sighed along with her, ”Yeah, it’s too scary. Do you think the real Ruolan will wake up?”

”I don’t believe a word from that Wu Wanqing. If she really rears those poisonous insects, would she help Ruolan? She’d probably come after our family for revenge, maybe even harm Ruolan.” Wan Caiyue said seriously.

”I just hope Ruolan can wake up on her own; she’s quite pitiful.” Bai Zehao sighed again.

This time Wan Caiyue remained silent. She also felt that Bai Ruolan was pitiful, but what good would their lamenting do?

...

By the second day, Gao Zhou returned from outside and learned that two grandsons had been born. He couldn’t have been happier, repeatedly praising how great it was to have grandsons.

Jiang Yichun rolled his eyes at him, ”You’re back only now? What kind of Grandpa are you?”

Gao Zhou’s face stiffened, ”I didn’t know Ruozhu would give birth last night. I had some matters to attend to...”

”Is it that Jing Shuang again? Didn’t she leave?” Jiang Yichun said, displeased.

Gao Zhou awkwardly scratched his head, ”She ran into her master’s enemy and was severely injured. After all, she’s helped me countless times, and she even helped you with your last issue. I can’t just ignore it, can I?”

Jiang Yichun gave another eye roll, not wanting to continue this topic.

Gao Zhou hurriedly went to see his grandsons, and soon learned about the events of the previous night. He was so frightened that cold sweat broke out. No wonder his son was mad he wasn’t there; what if there weren’t enough people?

For the next two days, Bai Ruozhu was somewhat listless. Anyway, with Wu Wanqing soaking in the medicine vat, she didn’t have to worry much. She just sighed often, looking at her two newborn sons, ”Sigh, why not daughters? At least one daughter would be nice.”

Little Dengdeng was overjoyed these days. He finally had brothers, and two at once. He was almost too excited to sleep, wishing he could play with his brothers all the time, even sleeping while hugging them.

Unfortunately, Nanny Zhang said he was restless in his sleep and might accidentally crush his brothers, so he had to give up on that idea.

He was a brother who dearly loved his brothers. As for a sister, well, he had Chenxi as his little sister.

”Brothers, brothers, I’m your big brother!” Little Dengdeng talked to the two little buns, almost constantly watching them and talking to them, though the two little buns clearly didn’t understand, only wanting to eat and sleep, or just cry.

Bai Ruozhu glared at Little Dengdeng, ”Go play outside, don’t annoy your mother. Seeing three sons at once, I’m practically out of breath.”

Little Dengdeng giggled, ”Mom, don’t be mad. In the future, my brothers and I will protect you. I’ll make them all be filial to you.”

Bai Ruozhu turned her head in a huff, ”I want a daughter. It’s all your fault for always asking for brothers, and now they’ve really become two brothers. You tricked your mother!”

”But they really are two brothers. I saw them.” Little Dengdeng said, a bit aggrieved.

Bai Ruozhu was at a loss for words. It’s said that children can tell the gender of the baby in a pregnant woman’s belly, especially those who haven’t lost their baby teeth. So, in the countryside, pregnant women often ask children whether they have a boy or a girl in their belly.

Well, maybe she should have believed Little Dengdeng from the start. At least she wouldn’t be as disappointed now after her high hopes.

Or she could have had someone check the baby’s gender through pulse-taking, so she could be mentally prepared earlier on.

Jiang Yichun walked in with a bowl of hot porridge and, seeing her worried look, quickly said, ”Don’t worry. Next time will definitely be a daughter.”

Bai Ruozhu glared at him, ”Hmph, don’t say that. The greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.”

”Alright, later let’s put on the girl clothes you prepared for them. Just pretend they’re all daughters.” Jiang Yichun said.

Little Dengdeng immediately protested, ”No, they’re brothers, not sisters!”

Min Xiang and Min Ju were holding back their laughter at the door. The young master and the little young master were too funny. Who knew who would win in the end?

The two little buns started crying loudly. Was this about deciding what they would wear? Why didn’t anyone ask them for their opinion?

After Bai Ruozhu drank her porridge and the two little buns had their baths, they were dressed in cute baby girl clothes, not only pink and pretty, but also adorned with beautiful embroidery. They even had knitted cartoon hats on their heads, one a kitty cat and the other a little yellow duck. It was incredibly adorable, instantly lifting Bai Ruozhu’s spirits and warming her heart.

Little Dengdeng stood by with a grumpy face, muttering, ”Boys don’t wear this. You’re bullying them!”

At this moment, Bai Yihong supported Lin Ping’er over, laughing and asking, ”Who’s bullying our Dengdeng?”

Little Dengdeng finally found someone to help him, running over to hug his grandpa’s leg, ”Grandpa, dad and mom are bullying my brothers, dressing them like girls. They’re crying from anger.”

Bai Yihong and Lin Ping’er looked over to see the two adorably dressed little buns and their expressions instantly became quite vivid.

Lin Ping’er’s eyes twinkled with stars as she exclaimed, ”Girls are still the cutest.”

Bai Yihong’s face turned green; his poor grandsons, how did they end up like this?

”This is simply nonsense! Clearly, they are boys, how can you dress them like this? What is this...” Bai Yihong began to shout.

However, before he could finish, Lin Ping’er smacked him on the arm, ”What difference does it make what little babies wear? In the countryside, boys often wear their sister’s clothes. Why are you so particular now? I think it looks great. They can wear boy clothes when they’re older.”
