Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

”Calm down, everyone. He made an unintentional mistake. It’s not worth a death sentence. The situation is as it is, discussing further is useless. Let’s continue our journey tomorrow morning.” Lu gave a look to the group as he spoke.

Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth. She understood Lu’s meaning. Mo Beishan seemed full of regrets, but the Mo Family was a well-known martial family, certainly not so simple. If they made a move against Mo Beishan, none of them would likely leave Qiyuan City.

Gao Zhou pushed Mo Beishan away and glared at him fiercely, saying, ”Be careful next time, don’t let me see you again!”

Mo Beishan staggered to his feet, ignoring everyone but staring blankly at his Sword of Silence, as if his lover had died in his arms.

It is said that swordsmen value their swords more than their lives. If Mo Beishan is that kind of traditional swordsman, he must be suffering greatly now, but Bai Ruozhu and the others don’t care about his pain because his secrecy and sneaky actions harmed Jiang Yichun.

Jiang Yichun’s face darkened, saying nothing as he turned to his room quickly; soon, Gao Zhou shook his head at Bai Ruozhu and followed him.

Jiao Ling also pulled Bai Ruozhu away, speaking softly, ”Don’t get too upset, Mo Beishan still has his uses. If his Qi recovers, it might be able to absorb some of the evil energy from Xiaojiang.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, now left with no choice but to think optimistically.

If this situation continues, not only can she not touch Achun, but she can’t even be near him. She clearly felt her baby moving frequently in her belly, worried about the evil energy.

Even if they’re not afraid of the evil energy, Bai Ruozhu wouldn’t dare take the risk of exposing the child before birth. What if they give birth to a little monster?

The next morning, at dawn, Bai Ruozhu and her party informed the steward and left the Mo Residence, not bothering to bid farewell to Mo Beishan.

After the group left Qiyuan City and had traveled for half an hour, they suddenly heard the sound of rapidly approaching hoofbeats. Someone chased them on horseback.

”I want to go with you to Beiyu City; maybe I can absorb back the evil energy in my sword.” Mo Beishan said as he caught up.

”Get lost, stop being an eyesore!” Yao Yuxuan cursed unhappily. Despite his white hair giving a sense of an immortal aura, this outburst quickly revealed his true nature.

Mo Beishan wasn’t angered, he followed the group and said, ”Being an eyesore is one thing, but I can’t let him abscond with so much of my evil energy.”

With a clang from the drawn sword, Jiang Yichun suddenly leaped from his horse, his sword pointed at Mo Beishan’s vital point—the stance was to take his life.

Mo Beishan hurriedly dodged, drawing his sword to block, ”Brother Jiang, calm down. I can potentially absorb back the evil energy; it’s also helping you.”

Jiang Yichun ignored his words, his eyes glowing red, attacking Mo Beishan with increasingly fierce strikes, each one bearing more killing intent.

”Bad, the evil energy has clouded his mind. Quickly stop him!” Gao Zhou shouted as he rushed at Jiang Yichun, Yao Yuxuan also dared not be careless and hurried over to assist.

Lu rushed over too, while Tang Feng, who hadn’t spoken all along, led others to protect Bai Ruozhu and the others.

Finally, with the strength of three, they managed to stop Jiang Yichun, yet feared harming him, so they couldn’t subdue him for a long time, instead making him more agitated, as if mad.

Bai Ruozhu covered her mouth, witnessing everything. How did it come to this?

She thought of a previous method and quickly grabbed Jiao Ling’s hand, saying, ”Aunt, I’ll pretend to faint, shout loudly to call me, it might stop him.”

Jiao Ling nodded, Bai Ruozhu immediately let out a soft groan and pretended to faint. Jiao Ling quickly supported her with a loud call, ”Ruozhu fainted, Holy Doctor, come check her!”

Jiang Yichun, in a frenzy of attacks, hesitated and paused, giving Gao Zhou the opportunity to sneak behind and tap him on the sleep acupuncture point.

”Ruozhu...” As Jiang Yichun fell, his eyes remained on Bai Ruozhu. He reached out, trying to support her, but collapsed with eyes closed.

Bai Ruozhu’s heart ached to tears, quickly saying, ”Help him into the carriage, we’ll find a solution on the road.”

Everyone helped carefully, distancing Jiang Yichun and Bai Ruozhu, only then realizing Mo Beishan hadn’t left.

”Get lost! Don’t ever let me see you again!” Gao Zhou cursed.

Mo Beishan’s face remained determined, ”I must follow you. It was my mistake, I have to make amends.”

Bai Ruozhu took a deep breath and said, ”You easily affect his emotions. We can’t stop you from following, but stay far away; don’t let him see you right now.”

Mo Beishan didn’t argue, obediently mounted his horse and left.

”Humph, I’d prefer he doesn’t follow. Seeing him makes me want to kill!” Gao Zhou said resentfully, ”We shouldn’t have lodged at his home, his hospitality was no better than a weasel visiting a hen—the intentions weren’t pure. We were truly careless.”

Bai Ruozhu returned to the horse carriage, the group continued their journey. In a foul mood, she closed her eyes to rest, Xiaohei began communicating with her in the Space, asking if it made a mistake.

She wanted to reach into Space and stroke Xiaohei’s head in consolation, telling it it wasn’t wrong. Even if she had been present, she surely would have stopped Mo Beishan’s actions; he radiated ill intent.

Even Achun feigned being entranced as a precaution, yet none anticipated the reversal—his own internal evil energy absorbed the Sword of Silence’s evil energy.

”Xiaojiang carries a Blood Curse’s evil energy, not comparable to ordinary evil energy. The Sword of Silence’s evil energy was likely gathered by Mo Beishan just being common evil energy, so being absorbed by Xiaojiang’s curse was normal.” Jiao Ling seemed to sense Bai Ruozhu’s thoughts, speaking to explain.

Bai Ruozhu suddenly sat upright, ”Does this mean that if his evil energy can’t be expelled, it’ll continuously absorb others’, growing heavier?”

Jiao Ling remained silent for a while, finally nodding hesitantly, ”Don’t worry too much, Fen Jiu has already sent a letter to the family asking for solutions. We should receive a reply soon.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, but she couldn’t help worrying.

The carriage swayed along, and eventually she fell into a muddled sleep.

In the dream, she saw Achun thrusting a sword at her chest, his eyes blood-red, not recognizing her; she startled awake. Sweat drenched her back, her clothes sticking uncomfortably.

That scene was her inner knot; beneath her ribs, close to her heart, lies a faint scar from Achun’s stab, from when he didn’t recognize her, having lost his senses.

Will he become like that again?

The previous chapter mentioned Mo Beishan’s sword named Burn Silence. At the time, it popped into my head without thinking, until reminded by Book Friends that it’s from ”Gujian Qitan”, thus Mouka changed it to Sword of Silence~
