Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1893: Chapter 1883: Why Is the Scumbag Here Again?

Two days later, the Bai Family welcomed an esteemed guest as Xie Dun’s horse carriage stopped at the Bai Residence Gate.

”Ruozhu, you, you...” Yu Hongxiu looked at Bai Ruozhu’s belly in surprise, ”You didn’t have it when we parted ways, how come you’re so big now?”

Bai Ruozhu smiled, her lips curling, ”My mother said it’s thanks to you, it’s twins.”

Yu Hongxiu held her belly and laughed, ”Then you must treat me to a meal, it’s been many days since we’ve met, how have you been doing?”

”I’ll give you ten dishes you like!” Bai Ruozhu said, instructing Min Xiang to have the kitchen add more dishes, just as Lin Ping’er also came over from the backyard.

”Aunt Bai, this matter of yours...” Yu Hongxiu felt a bit overwhelmed, how come each one of them was pregnant?

Lin Ping’er went over to hold her hand, smiling, ”It’s all because of you passing it on, we’re all having them one after another.”

Yu Hongxiu laughed even more, Xie Dun beside her worriedly reminded her, ”Be careful not to strain yourself, quickly go sit down.”

Bai Ruozhu saw how Xie Dun was especially nervous and concerned for Yu Hongxiu, and her heart felt much at ease.

Lin Ping’er hurriedly invited them to sit down and chat, and the two sides exchanged pleasantries for a while.

During the rebellion in the Capital City, Yu Hongxiu and Xie Dun happened to return to Jiangnan, narrowly escaping the disaster. Yu Hongxiu’s family originally didn’t want them to go to Beiyu City, feeling that the situation was too chaotic, and preferred to wait and see.

Xie Dun went to great lengths to persuade the Yue Family, saying that they couldn’t play it safe now, or they would be despised by both sides in the end.

”My father somewhat wanted to take sides with King Rui at that time. I was so angry that I nearly severed our father-daughter relationship. Fortunately, something happened during King Rui’s sacrifice, and he changed his mind. Xie Dun also contacted some Jiangnan officials and brought vows of allegiance.” Yu Hongxiu said.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, realizing that King Rui’s accession would influence many people’s attitudes, but fortunately, Jiang Yichun acted decisively and orchestrated the sacrificial incident, which made King Rui hate him deeply.

The sacrificial incident left King Rui with even less legitimate support, losing the backing of many.

”You guys must be exhausted from the journey, right?” Bai Ruozhu looked at Yu Hongxiu’s belly, Yu Hongxiu was even a month earlier than her.

”Not too bad, just that my two boys are too mischievous. I really want to have a daughter this time, if I end up with three boys together, I’d go insane.” Yu Hongxiu said, rubbing her forehead, evidently troubled by the kids.

Xie Dun laughed beside her, ”Boys are a bit more rambunctious, they’re trying to talk now, just love to babble nonsensically.”

Yu Hongxiu gave him a sidelong glance, ”I haven’t scolded them, only you dote on your sons.”

Bai Ruozhu and her mother snickered, these two have quite the loving relationship.

”Ruozhu, are your two boys or girls?” Yu Hongxiu asked curiously.

”I want a girl, but my Dengdeng insists on having a brother, and now she fancies having boy and girl twins.” Bai Ruozhu laughed, touching her belly, ”But they’re much more well-behaved than Little Dengdeng was, and much quieter, probably girls.”

”Yup, daughters are great, let’s all have daughters!” Yu Hongxiu said excitedly.

Lin Ping’er also chimed in, ”Yes, I want another daughter too.”

The three exchanged a knowing smile.

For lunch, Xie Dun and Yu Hongxiu stayed to eat at the Bai Family, and Yu Hongxiu had quite an appetite, yet didn’t look too plump. Bai Ruozhu glanced at herself, now rounder, feeling a bit downhearted – was she going to turn into a ball?

That night, when Jiang Yichun returned, she pulled him aside and asked, ”Do I look fat?”

He thought for a moment and said, ”Rotund.”

Her face immediately fell, ”Rotund means fat! Rotund means turning into a ball, how can you be round without looking like a ball?”

Jiang Yichun was a bit dumbfounded, why was his wife so worked up? What’s wrong with being a bit plump?

”A ball isn’t so bad, all round and adorable. I could call you a Bamboo Ball, no wait, bamboo isn’t good for a ball, a rattan ball!” Jiang Yichun joked.

After speaking, he found Bai Ruozhu glaring at him with two beams of cold light, saying coolly, ”I’m too fat, taking up too much space sleeping, so you’ll have to leave the bed for me starting tonight and go to the soft lounge instead!”

Her teeth ground with a creak, ”Until I lose the weight postpartum, you’re not allowed back on the bed!”

Though Jiang Yichun was slow, he couldn’t possibly not notice his wife’s anger. He quickly smiled apologetically, ”Not fat, it’s voluptuous, I was joking with you.”

”Go sleep on the soft lounge, don’t provoke me!” Bai Ruozhu pointed unceremoniously to the soft lounge across and shouted.

In the end, Jiang Yichun truly ended up sleeping on the soft lounge, aggrieved, because his wife angrily sprawled out, occupying most of the bed, and he was afraid of touching her, didn’t dare push or shift her, so he had no choice but to roll away.

The next day, with dark circles, Jiang Yichun went to the Guest Palace, and after breakfast, the Jiang Family members came to visit.

It was Jiang Chenshi, along with her eldest daughter Jiang Zhiyi and second daughter Jiang Zhihe.

”Ruozhu, if we calculate the days, you might be due soon, so I’ve brought some baby clothes I made myself for you.” Jiang Chenshi opened the bundle, neatly displaying several baby clothes made from pure white fine cotton, with very delicate tailoring, soft to the touch.

There was also a small baby bonnet, beautifully embroidered with small flowers, perfectly suited for a baby girl.

”These are so exquisitely made!” Bai Ruozhu picked up the small bonnet and examined it closely. She had once made woven bonnets in Beiyu City, it was among her first business ventures, but she mainly did weaving, whereas these were sewn with fine cotton cloth, with very exquisite embroidery.

”Zhiyi made them, she’s quite handy with her embroidery.” Jiang Chenshi said with a smile.

Bai Ruozhu looked at Jiang Zhiyi, seeing that she looked well, with a serene smile, presumably having fully let go of past matters.

”Sister Zhiyi’s got both the looks and talents, you’re sure to meet someone truly suitable for you.” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile.

Jiang Zhiyi blushed, ”We’ll see what fate brings, even if I serve my parents all my life, that’s fine.”

”That won’t do, I still want to see you remarry and have a child.” Jiang Chenshi hurriedly said.

”Okay, if the chance comes, I will remarry,” Jiang Zhiyi quickly stated.

Jiang Zhihe sidled up to Bai Ruozhu and whispered, ”Sister-in-law, I’m asking Cheng Hua to find a match for her, but men don’t always have the best judgment, so could you help evaluate for her?”

”Sure, we will secretly go have a look then.” Bai Ruozhu replied with a giggle.

At this moment, a servant came in, saying, ”Miss, someone from the Jiang Residence is urgently looking for Madame Jiang, saying the Jiang Family’s eldest son-in-law has found the Jiang Family, asking Madame Jiang to hurry back.”

Jiang Zhiyi sprang up, ”What eldest son-in-law? Where from?”

”Called Kong Xunwu,” the servant replied timidly.

”What’s he coming here for? How can he have the face to come find me now? We’ve already annulled our marriage, what’s he bothering me for now?” Jiang Zhiyi seethed, suddenly collapsing weakly.
