Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1878: Chapter 1868: Ruthless and Decisive

In the inn, Huang Li was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan. Once he entered the room, he could finally speak.

”Old Master, please think again. The young lady is a noble-born; how can she lose a finger like this?” Huang Li said anxiously.

Huang Da snorted coldly, ”Foolish! Is one finger more important than a life? Huang Li, Huang Li, why have you become so shortsighted?”

”Old Master, does she really dare not save the young lady? It’s just an official of some rank in the Imperial Court, and our family has some background. Why endure this insult?” Huang Li said discontentedly.

”Then what do you propose? Kill her family and force her to detoxify Rourou? Should we ignore the reputation of the Huang Family and stand against the Imperial Court? It’s said that wealth doesn’t last beyond three generations, and it’s because of self-conceited people like you who would ultimately lead the family toward decline.” Huang Da sighed, feeling that many in the family, especially among the younger generation, were becoming arrogant. A few grandsons were already quite insolent, and the only granddaughter was both arrogant and lacked self-defense skills, deserving to be disciplined.

Huang Li felt a bit embarrassed, ”It’s not as serious as you say. We’re not completely overwhelmed by those messages, and besides, the Imperial Court wouldn’t easily want to be our enemy, right?”

The Old Master Huang laughed derisively, ”Do you really think the Imperial Court is so easy to manipulate? The foundation of Danliang Country is many times that of the Huang Family, and don’t underestimate the Bai Family. You could kill her entire family, but as long as any of them survive, they can still wipe out the younger generation of the Huang Family and sever our lineage. Can you guarantee a sure kill today, ensuring not a single one escapes?”

He sighed again, ”The youngsters in the family are disappointing. If we really form a grudge, none of them might be able to protect themselves.”

Huang Li thought of the martial skills of several young masters and then of Bai Ruozhu’s reputation, feeling a sense of dread. A family is meant to pass on its lineage, and if the bloodline is wiped out, what’s left to pass on?

Early the next morning, Huang Da brought the unconscious Huang Rou to the Bai Residence. Bai Ruozhu had already instructed her family, telling her parents to leave, leaving only her and Jiao Ling, Fen Jiu, and Jianqi in the Main Hall. The other dark guards stood outside, closely watching the changes inside the hall.

”Master Bai, I beg you to forgive our young lady this once,” Huang Li suddenly knelt to the ground with a thud. He had watched Huang Rou grow up, and she was the only girl in this generation of the Huang Family, treasured by everyone. He couldn’t bear to see her suffer.

Before Bai Ruozhu could speak, Huang Da coldly ordered, ”Shut up!”

Then, with a decisive movement, Huang Rou’s left little finger flew off!

Blood splattered into the main hall of the Bai Family, staining a nearby rosewood table with a splash of red.

Bai Ruozhu and the others were stunned. They thought this had been discussed between Huang Li and Huang Da, never expecting Huang Da to act so decisively.

Huang Da quickly struck a few acupoints on Huang Rou, and the bleeding from her severed finger reduced slightly.

Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth, underestimating this Old Master Huang. As the former patriarch of a Wulin family, his actions were ruthless and decisive. Even though he loved his granddaughter dearly, he didn’t blink an eye. His courage and heart nature made Bai Ruozhu somewhat fearful.

”Old Master, was this necessary?” She sighed, went over to pick up Huang Rou’s severed finger, and reattached it to the severed stump, ”I can only help Miss Huang reattach the finger, but it won’t have any mobility or strength in the future.”

A trace of pain flashed in Huang Da’s eyes, but his face remained unchanged, ”Thank you, young friend Bai.”

An eye for an eye; Bai Ruozhu could only make Huang Rou’s condition similar to Muxin’s and didn’t want to be too harsh.

She took out a silver needle and quickly stopped the bleeding, then took out thread to sew the wound, and subsequently detoxified Huang Rou.

”Miss Huang’s poison is relatively rare and needs two more treatments. Old Master, give her this medicine, and come back in three days,” Bai Ruozhu handed a written prescription to Huang Da.

She could have Xiaomao secretly absorb the poisonous insect poison from Huang Rou, but that would cure her too quickly and might cause trouble for herself, and Xiaomao could be easily exposed.

So she asked Huang Da to bring Huang Rou twice more to let her gradually recover.

”Okay, I’ll come back in three days,” Huang Da picked up his granddaughter and left swiftly.

Bai Ruozhu glanced at the bloodstains in the hall and couldn’t help but sigh. Her family hall was now filled with the smell of blood; wasn’t this just adding to her annoyance?

”That Old Master Huang is not simple, Ruozhu, you did the right thing,” Jiao Ling agreed.

Bai Ruozhu smiled, ”At least Huang Rou ended up with the same injury as Muxin. That’s justice from the heavens.”

”Indeed, this is fair,” Jiao Ling laughed.

...

In the inn, Huang Rou finally awoke, which was her second time waking up since being poisoned for so many days.

The first time, she had told Huang Li that Bai Ruozhu was behind the poisoning, then fainted again. This time, as soon as she awoke, she quickly noticed the severe pain in her left hand. She raised her hand and found the base of her little finger to her palm wrapped in white gauze.

”Rourou girl, you finally woke up, now Grandpa can be at ease,” Huang Da said excitedly, approaching the bedside.

Huang Rou stared at her hand in horror, ”Grandpa, what happened to my hand? It hurts so much!”

Huang Da, looking unwilling, said sternly, ”You cut off someone else’s finger, so Grandpa made you pay it back.”

”What?” Huang Rou exclaimed, ”Grandpa, how could you do this? I’m your granddaughter; can’t you protect me? My finger, I can’t become disabled!”

Huang Rou screamed and shouted, but being poisoned for several days, her body weak, she soon fainted again.

Huang Da sighed, muttering to himself, ”This girl needs to temper her heart nature.”

When Huang Rou awoke the next day and drank the medicine, she quickly shouted in anger again, ”Grandpa, help me kill that Bai Ruozhu, kill her entire family!”

Huang Da’s face darkened, ”Kill her? Your poison still needs further treatment; if she dies, you’ll just have to wait to die too.”

Huang Rou was stunned, then half-snaring her teeth, said, ”She’s the one who poisoned me; once she detoxifies me, I’ll take her whole family’s lives!”

A crisp sound echoed as Huang Da slapped her hard across the face.

”No skills of your own, yet always yelling to kill an entire family; you just saved your life and want to throw it away again? If so, go ahead and try, see how many days you last!” Huang Da said angrily.

Huang Rou held her swollen cheek, unbelievingly saying, ”Grandpa, why aren’t you helping me? If my parents were here, they surely wouldn’t let me suffer like this!”

She whimpered, ”I can’t beat her, so I’ll ask my parents to avenge me. Grandpa, if you don’t feel sorry for me, that’s fine; I won’t bother you!”

”So young, yet only knows how to shout for fights and killings, the Huang Family will surely be ruined by you; if your parents follow your example, I’ll break their legs! Stay put and heal, reflect well, and ask yourself what you’ve done wrong!” Huang Da left the room in a huff, throwing his sleeves aside.

Inside, a look of hatred flashed in Huang Rou’s eyes. She wouldn’t spare the Bai Family, nor that cheap woman with Mo Beishan!
