Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1710: Chapter 1710: At Worst, Take Responsibility

Rendong’s complexion changed, this, this is practically a lecher! How could someone lift a young lady’s skirt and touch her thigh?

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth dropped open, quickly realizing the ”Young Master Meng” that Zhanna mentioned was Senior Fox. She was about to call out Senior Fox’s mischief then suddenly felt something was off, and asked Zhanna: ”Isn’t Young Master Meng’s arms disabled? How could he touch your thigh?”

Of course, she didn’t doubt Zhanna. Allowing her parents to take Zhanna back to Mountain Village first was because these days had revealed Zhanna’s character. Zhanna wouldn’t falsely accuse Senior Fox without reason, and women wouldn’t joke about such a matter, it might ruin their reputation.

Zhanna cried even more fiercely, her chest heaving, almost struggling to breathe from crying.

”He said he wanted to see my prosthetic leg, how could I let a man look at that? In the end, he had his servant lift my skirt and then...” Zhanna broke out in loud sobs.

Bai Ruozhu quickly went over, gently soothing Zhanna’s back in empathy. She understood Zhanna’s emotions, not just the shame of being skirt-lifted, but the distress of a person who doesn’t want others to see the leg they lost.

This Senior Fox is causing too much trouble!

”He also wanted the servant to check if my prosthetic leg was hard, and then his servant touched my prosthetic leg, and also... my real leg.” Zhanna’s voice grew quieter, her face flushed red.

Bai Ruozhu quickly realized, Xu Huilin’s servant touched Zhanna’s prosthetic leg, and also her real thigh that wasn’t prosthetic.

”This is nonsense!” Bai Ruozhu said angrily.

”Miss Bai, you have to stand up for me, at least punish them with twenty strokes, they’re too despicable!” Zhanna cried while gnashing her teeth.

Inwardly, Bai Ruozhu breathed a sigh of relief. At least Zhanna just wanted to vent, asking for Xu Huilin and his servant to be punished, rather than demanding responsibility, otherwise, she wouldn’t know what to do.

”Moreover, that Young Master Meng jabbed my prosthetic with the iron rod on his arm,” Zhanna added.

Bai Ruozhu held her forehead, wondering if Xu Huilin had gone crazy over prosthetics. But there’s no sense in being this hasty, how could he do such a thing?

And what about the household guards? No one stepped in to stop it.

Thinking of this, Bai Ruozhu summoned Jianqi inside, instructing him to investigate who was on duty nearby today, ask what they were up to, and punish them fittingly.

Then she rose to comfort Zhanna, saying: ”Don’t cry, regardless of his status, he shouldn’t treat a woman this way; I’ll definitely make sure you get justice.”

”If they wanted to see my prosthetic leg, I could’ve taken it off and showed them indoors, but instead they pinned me down and lifted my skirt. Miss Bai, I was so scared!” Zhanna said, nearly sobbing.

Bai Ruozhu held her forehead again, Xu Huilin and his servant behaved too recklessly, treating a young lady like this is unacceptable; you’d think they were trying to assault her.

Rendong noticed Bai Ruozhu’s displeased expression and hurriedly said: ”Miss Bai, please don’t get mad, health comes first, let the eldest young master deal with them if needed.”

Bai Ruozhu snorted coldly, ”I’m fine, I won’t lose my temper. Big brother really isn’t suitable to handle this; I’ll speak to him myself.”

She finished speaking and pulled Zhanna outside with her, when they reached the front courtyard, they saw Xu Huilin and his servant approaching.

”Young master, why make things difficult for yourself, just explain properly and it’s solved.” Lai Shun murmured following behind Xu Huilin.

Xu Huilin appeared quite comical, with a stick tied to his back, sleeves hanging beside his body without arms inside, a quick glance could tell the sleeves were empty.

Momentarily, Bai Ruozhu felt a pang of sadness, her anger towards Xu Huilin subsiding instantly; if not for holding Zhanna’s hand, the fury might have vanished completely.

But she quickly hid her emotions, as she needed to account for Zhanna, and didn’t want to show Xu Huilin any pity that might displease him.

”Ruozhu, perfect timing, I’m here to apologize to Miss Zhanna with thorns.” Unable to clasp hands, Xu Huilin bowed, exposing his prickly stick behind.

Zhanna glaring with beautiful angry eyes seemed unwilling to let him off so easily.

Privately, Bai Ruozhu was somewhat partial to Senior Fox, not only because she, Achun, and Senior Fox once fought life and death against Li Yi, sharing a secret, but also because Senior Fox had suffered greatly, losing both arms.

”Brother, what’s this nonsense, how could you treat a young lady like this?” Bai Ruozhu sternly asked. Rarely did she call Senior Fox ”brother,” this ”brother” was meant for Zhanna to hear, giving her some face, suggesting lenient punishment.

Xu Huilin chuckled awkwardly: ”I was just researching prosthetics with your father, hit a snag I couldn’t figure out, so got a bit obsessed and thought of coming to see the young lady with prosthetics at your abode. I was too impulsive, got in Miss Zhanna’s way. I’ve no face to further explain, please Miss blame me with thorns.”

Lai Shun swiftly blocked in front of Xu Huilin, said to Zhanna: ”I’m the one who lifted your skirt, touched your thigh, if there needs to be punishment, it should be me, please Miss punish!”

He knelt forcefully on the ground right after.

By now, there were quite a few servants and guards present. Lai Shun’s voice was loud, his words reached the ears of others nearby.

Zhanna stomped furiously, but Xu Huilin called out: ”Miss, gently please, be careful with your prosthetic, don’t damage it.”

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth twitched, if she were Zhanna, she’d probably also be enraged.

”You shut up!” Zhanna cried angrily, ”Do you think I won’t beat you both? I don’t care if you’re young master or son, you wronged me, and today I’ll teach you a lesson.”

However, after speaking, she glanced at Bai Ruozhu, clearly concerned about her stance. Bai Ruozhu coughed lightly, reluctantly announcing: ”Indeed, they should be punished; since apologizing with thorns, feel free to whip them.”

Zhanna didn’t hold back, stepping forward and whipping Xu Huilin and his servant with the thorn stick.

However, mindful of Xu Huilin’s ”brother” status, she didn’t hit him much; about seven in ten strokes landed on servant Lai Shun, who winced in pain, eventually shouted: ”I can take responsibility if needed!”

”Yes, yes, Lai Shun hasn’t taken a wife yet,” Xu Huilin hurriedly added.

Zhanna furiously whipped Lai Shun harder, ”Shut your filthy mouth, I’m not interested in marrying, even if I can’t marry out, I wouldn’t marry a lustful fool like you!”
