Chapter 1525: Chapter 1525 You Look Good Anyways_1

”You haven’t done anything wrong, it’s enough that your conscience is clear,” Bai Ruozhu patted his shoulder.

”All I want now is for Princess Diao Bin to recover quickly, I’m not thinking about anything else,” Ning Yu rubbed his brow anxiously.

”Mmh, I believe you,” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile.

Ning Yu felt a lot more at ease in his heart, and his pressure was much reduced.

The curse breaking was set for the next afternoon. Ning Yu was responsible for preparing the necessary materials. Even if he didn’t want to confront Fen Wan, he had to be present when the curse was lifted.

Even Tang Yin, who was of supreme dignity, put aside all reservations and came to watch on-site.

Fen Wan wore an extremely serious expression. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, she earnestly completed every step, and the witchcraft that had bound the Empress Dowager and her daughter for years was finally broken. Princess Diao Bin opened her eyes.

”Diao Bin, can you see your mother? How do you feel?” The Empress Dowager asked, clutching Princess Diao Bin’s hand both excitedly and anxiously.

Having just woken up, Princess Diao Bin felt as if she had been in a very long dream, and was still a bit dazed and not fully awake, while the frightened Empress Dowager began to cry beside her.

”Mother, I’m fine, why are you crying?” Princess Diao Bin’s voice was feeble; she was indeed very weak.

The Empress Dowager laughed through her tears, ”It’s good that you’re fine, it’s so good. Your mother was just too worried about you.”

Ning Yu quickly came forward to examine her, and then bowed to the Empress Dowager and the Emperor, ”The witchcraft on the princess has been lifted.”

Tang Yin showed a look of joy, grabbing Princess Diao Bin’s other hand, ”Diao Bin, you’re okay now. Take good care of yourself and you’ll recover very soon.”

”Mmh, I’ve made mother and brother worry,” Diao Bin’s voice was soft, like a well-behaved little kitten. Fen Wan, who was watching her from the side, couldn’t help but frown – was it this kind of gentleness he liked?

Bai Ruozhu had taken Princess Diao Bin’s pulse and written a formula for her recovery, instructing her to take good care of her health.

”Your Majesty, Your Highness, now that the princess’s curse has been broken, please allow us, master and disciple, to leave the Imperial Palace and retire to the mountain forest,” Master Hao Feng suddenly spoke up, quickly glancing at Fen Wan. She couldn’t let Fen Wan stay in the palace anymore.

As soon as Princess Diao Yao heard this, she became anxious, ”Master, I’ll go with you!”

”I don’t want to leave!” Fen Wan’s voice was loud and carried the petulance of a girl’s temper tantrum, which quieted everyone down.

”Fen Wan!” Hao Feng called out sharply. It had been many years, and even before Fen Wan was poisoned and fell into a coma, she hadn’t been this stern with her for a long time.

The Emperor cleared his throat lightly, interrupting the standoff between master and disciple.

”Master Hao Feng is not yet fully recovered, and the situation of the Imperial Aunt also needs to be observed. You should stay in the palace for the time being,” the Emperor said indifferently.

Princess Diao Bin’s curse had been broken, but Tang Yin, being cautious as he was, would not let them leave immediately.

Since the Emperor had spoken, Master Hao Feng had little to say, and besides, she knew her words had no effect on her disciple now; the disciple did not recognize her master at all.

Princess Diao Bin was sent back to her room, and Ning Yu followed closely. He comforted her softly, ”In a few days, you’ll be completely recovered, don’t worry.”

”Mmh, thank you,” Princess Diao Bin managed a slight tug at the corner of her mouth, her smile both gentle and shy.

Ning Yu’s gaze was so tender it seemed to melt into water. Fen Wan, watching this from the side, felt a pang of heartache and silently turned back to her own room.

After escorting Princess Diao Bin back to her room, Ning Yu agonized over a question and asked Bai Ruozhu, ”Should I go and thank her?”

”No need, under normal circumstances, politeness would be appropriate, but now the situation is different. Once you start being polite, it will be easy for her to further misunderstand. If you intend to be decisive, you can’t afford to be even slightly soft-hearted,” Bai Ruozhu stated solemnly.

Ning Yu nodded vigorously, ”You’re right.”

In the following days, Princess Diao Bin’s recovery progressed day by day. The age spots on her face and body slowly faded, and her wrinkles gradually smoothed out. She had not truly aged, but it was due to witchcraft, so with the curse lifted, she got better day by day.

At this time, terrible news arrived, the Prince of the Turkic Country was on his way to Danliang Capital City, the very prince who was to be married to Princess Diao Bin.

Princess Diao Bin had not cared for anyone in the past, and had thought it reasonable to engage in a political marriage to relieve her imperial brother of his worries. But now, with Ning Yu in her heart, how could she be willing to marry another?

Tang Yin must have understood his sister’s feelings, as he specifically made a trip to Cining Palace and said to Diao Bin, ”Your recovery will take a long time, so I plan to pick a lady from among our relatives to be titled Princess in your stead and to enter into the marriage alliance.”

Princess Diao Bin, kind-hearted as she was, bit her lip and said, ”Please make sure that the other party is doing so voluntarily, alright?”

Tang Yin nodded, ”I promise you.”

Upon learning of this matter, Bai Ruozhu’s opinion of Tang Yin changed somewhat. He truly was a good brother.

Five days passed, and Princess Diao Bin’s appearance had nearly returned to its original state, except her hair, which remained snow-white without any sign of darkening.

Princess Diao Bin, looking into a Western mirror as she combed her hair, couldn’t stop the tears from falling down.

Upon seeing this, Hao Mu signaled to the palace maids to continue their service and quietly withdrew herself. She went to Ning Yu’s room in the backyard, bowed to Ning Yu, and said, ”Master Ning, please go and comfort the Princess. She is quietly crying over her hair again.”

The moment Ning Yu heard that Princess Diao Bin was crying, he sprang to his feet and hurriedly walked towards her residence.

In his haste, he forgot to knock on the door or to be announced and barged straight into the room, indeed finding Princess Diao Bin with tears on her face.

The nearby palace maids tactfully exited the room.

Princess Diao Bin, upon noticing Ning Yu, quickly turned her head, trying to hide the fact she was crying, but Ning Yu rushed over and grabbed her hand that was moving to wipe her tears.

”Diao Bin, there is still plenty of time, everything will slowly get better,” Ning Yu said, looking into her eyes.

Princess Diao Bin blushed and turned her gaze away quickly, ”Once hair turns white, it won’t turn black again. I’m afraid I’ll always be this way, walking around with a head full of white hair, looking like an old grandmother.”

”What old grandmother? You’re so beautiful, how could you look old? Even if your hair truly doesn’t turn back, in my eyes, you are still the most beautiful, incomparable to anyone else!” Ning Yu spoke earnestly.

Surprise lit up Princess Diao Bin’s face, ”Don’t tease me, it must look very ugly.”

”Not at all, it’s beautiful, you look good no matter what,” Ning Yu said with a smile, his gaze filled with deep affection.

Outside the room, Hao Mu and the little palace maid didn’t speak as they watched Fen Wan approach; they both wanted Fen Wan to overhear that Princess Diao Bin and Master Ning were the true lovers.

Fen Wan’s face grew paler and paler, her eyes slowly reddening, and then she bit her lip and turned to run away.

Hearing the noise outside, Princess Diao Bin promptly withdrew her hand from Ning Yu’s grip, blushing as she asked, ”Who was that just now? Have they left?”

”It’s nobody, just a little maid who lost her way. The Princess need not worry,” Hao Mu cheerfully replied from outside.
