Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1514: Chapter 1515: Kick Flying_1

Mouka’s physical condition was not a problem, and neither was the fetus’s. The only issue was that the amniotic fluid had broken, and the fetus had not yet engaged, which made the situation a bit tense. Hao Baishuang’s techniques for massage were acceptable, but they also carried certain risks.

Because this method could cause the amniotic fluid to decrease even faster, the fluid would be squeezed out as the massaging continued. If the baby did not engage successfully, it would reduce the safe period for the baby. Too little amniotic fluid could lead to the baby suffocating.

In the face of this urgent situation, she had no time to explain all these things. She quickly said to Wei Tianzhen who was waiting in the room, ”Wei Tianzhen, record the Formulas, and then go immediately to prepare the Decoction.”

”Cow-tail Grass two qian, Peony Bark one qian...” Bai Ruozhu was listing the names of the herbs when a sharp voice interrupted her.

”Bai Ruozhu, what time do you think it is, and you’re still targeting me because of personal grudges? If anything happens to Mouka, ten of you couldn’t compensate for it!” Hao Baishuang’s sharp voice rang in Bai Ruozhu’s ears, buzzing her eardrums, stunning everyone in the Room. Wei Tianzhen, who was recording the formula, got so frightened that the writing brush in her hand dropped.

Turning her head, Bai Ruozhu glared fiercely at her, and then, quicker than lightning, suddenly kicked Hao Baishuang in the stomach. Following a loud crash, Hao Baishuang was sent flying out, crashing through the Door and falling outside.

Hao Baishuang did not have time to let out a scream before she fainted.

Everyone in the Room was stunned, including Mouka, who lay on the bed whimpering in pain; for a moment, she even forgot about her agony.

Bai Ruozhu could not be considered particularly gentle, but who among those present had ever seen her physically strike someone? Even Jianqi knew she could be fierce, not like a typical woman, but how would the women in the Room know that?

”Wei Tianzhen, continue recording!” Bai Ruozhu’s voice sounded out coldly. Wei Tianzhen shivered and hurriedly picked up the writing brush, carefully resuming her recording.

The Empress Dowager was significantly startled; there was even a moment when she thought Bai Ruozhu was too fierce. However, she had always trusted Bai Ruozhu’s character and capabilities, so she guessed that even when Bai Ruozhu displayed such fury, there was a reason behind it.

Watching Bai Ruozhu rapidly list the names of the herbs, her expression so stern and serious, it was then the Empress Dowager realized that Bai Ruozhu always became so dedicated when faced with challenging cases. She had an austere and serious charm as a Doctor that commanded respect, making the Empress Dowager trust her more, placing all her hopes on her.

Wei Tianzhen, not daring to delay even for a second, picked up the formula and ran out the door. Jianqi immediately instructed a guard to accompany Wei Tianzhen to gather the herbs, with the guard speeding the process by using light-foot techniques to reach the pharmacy quicker.

Bai Ruozhu’s expression softened at this point, and she said to Mouka in a soft voice, ”Try not to be too Nervous for now, but also try not to move too much to prevent the amniotic fluid from flowing out too quickly, as that could lead to suffocation for the baby.” As she spoke, her hand rested on Mouka’s abdomen, feeling the fetus’s movements.

Then she smiled and said, ”Currently, the baby’s heartbeat is normal, so don’t worry too much. Your current contractions are just false labor and not the real pre-birth contractions. This is because of your fall earlier. You need to relax now; otherwise, the false labor will make you suffer more and will cause the amniotic fluid to flow out faster.”

”Ruozhu, what if the baby doesn’t engage?” Mouka was so anxious she was almost crying.

Bai Ruozhu gently patted her hand, reassuring her, ”It’s alright, I’ve instructed a female Doctor to prepare a Decoction to induce labor, and I will also help stimulate it with silver needles. The baby will engage soon. Your fetal position is correct, so there’s no need to worry too much. But it’s best not to randomly massage your belly, as it could cause the amniotic fluid to flow out quickly, and that would only be an option when there are no other alternatives.”

Her words served as an explanation for her earlier burst of anger, and everyone finally understood.

It was not that she had a bias against Hao Baishuang that made her say so, but Hao Baishuang’s skills in gynecology were indeed formidable. She could rectify the position of a wrongly positioned fetus, a skill that even Bai Ruozhu was not as proficient in. However, Hao Baishuang relied too heavily on this technique, regardless of how different the conditions were, insisting on using abdominal massage. Even interrupting Bai Ruozhu on prescribing the medicine was impudent, so a kick was actually letting her off lightly.

Bai Ruozhu’s gentle reassurance, coupled with the Empress Dowager’s persuasion and the reduction of false labor pains after Bai Ruozhu applied the acupuncture, gradually stabilized Consort Le’s emotions.

”Ruozhu, could it be that Doctor Hao didn’t rub me correctly?” Consort Le became worried again, now suffering from prenatal depression.

Bai Ruozhu, currently loathing Hao Baishuang, reassured Consort Le so as not to affect her mood, ”No, the issue isn’t the massage; it’s that continued massaging, even after the baby has dropped into the pelvis and most of the amniotic fluid has drained, would make the ensuing delivery too dangerous.”

Consort Le patted her chest, ”I’m glad you arrived in time.”

With an embarrassed expression, the Empress Dowager said, ”It’s my fault for not stopping that self-important female physician. Grand Princess Huilan has always praised her medical skills, but it turns out she is just a showy pillow with no real substance.”

”Her technique is indeed excellent for correcting the fetal position in pregnant women, but Consort Le’s situation is different, with premature rupture of membranes, and one cannot generalize. Moreover, just now when I was urgently dictating the formulas, she dared to interrupt me. Does she really have the well-being of the patient at heart?” Bai Ruozhu clenched her teeth as she spoke, her displeasure with Hao Baishuang mounting.

Then, Wei Tianzhen’s voice came from outside, ”Master, the decoction is ready.”

Bai Ruozhu asked her to bring in the medicine, sniffed it carefully, then placed it on a table to one side without intending to let Consort Le drink it.

”Master, did I do something wrong?” Wei Tianzhen asked with a frightened voice, fearing that in the next moment she might be sent flying out just like Hao Baishuang.

”No, the decoction is prepared perfectly, but this medicine is just a precaution, not something that needs to be taken immediately,” Bai Ruozhu said.

At this moment, Consort Le completely relaxed and asked curiously, ”Why is that?”

”If Your Highness has too much amniotic fluid left, or if the baby’s heartbeat is not positive, I will immediately administer medication to induce labor. However, if Your Highness’s condition improves, we shouldn’t rush to use labor-inducing medication, as it can be somewhat harmful,” Bai Ruozhu explained.

”I’m not afraid. As long as the child is born safely, it doesn’t matter if my body is damaged,” Consort Le said, her face showing a determined look that seemed to radiate a faint halo. Bai Ruozhu knew it was maternal love.

She gently patted Consort Le’s hand and added, ”Labor-inducing medication can also affect the fetus, possibly causing oxygen deprivation during the induced labor process, which means difficulty breathing. Although it’s not absolutely dangerous, I still want to minimize the risk, so I’d rather not use it right away.”

Consort Le, nearly understanding, nodded and said, ”Alright, I’ll listen to you and cooperate fully.”

Just then, the sound of a woman crying suddenly came from outside; it was Hao Baishuang, who Bai Ruozhu had previously knocked unconscious, now awake.
