Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1512: Chapter 1513: Shamelessly Clinging to Her_1

”Look at him speak...” Lady Jiang tried to express her admiration for Yu Chenghua under her breath, but Bai Ruozhu interrupted her with a hushing gesture.

Bai Ruozhu silently blamed herself for not giving more detailed instructions, and as she had feared, in the next moment, Yu Chenghua turned his head around.

He looked up towards the second floor with a hint of curiosity, and his gaze suddenly met Jiang Zhihe’s blushing face. Jiang Zhihe had never encountered such a situation before; she was so startled that she froze, forgetting even to look away.

Luckily, the attentive waiter by their side spoke up, ”Madam, the private room is ready for you, please come in.”

The three hurriedly followed the waiter into the private room, all sighing in relief. After all, it was somewhat embarrassing to be caught sneakily watching someone.

Bai Ruozhu gave the waiter a thumbs-up, ”Quite clever of you, go ahead with your work, and later I’ll tell the shopkeeper to give you a raise.”

The waiter happily apologized again and again, while Bai Ruozhu whispered, ”A smart person knows not to say more than necessary, got it?”

”Rest assured, Bai, I definitely won’t say too much,” the waiter promised before leaving the room.

Lady Jiang patted her chest, still feeling the scare, and said, ”Doesn’t that lad have good ears?”

”Those martial artists all have excellent hearing, but he probably didn’t notice anything,” Bai Ruozhu said, glancing at Jiang Zhihe, who was now redder than a monkey’s behind, and couldn’t help but laugh.

”It’s all my fault for speaking out of turn; otherwise, we could have kept watching. I really talk more with age,” Lady Jiang said with regret.

”It doesn’t matter, Auntie, there will be another chance,” Bai Ruozhu pondered where to lead them next time for Jiang Zhihe to have a better view.

Downstairs, Yu Chenghua came back to his senses, withdrew his gaze and looked towards Jiang Yichun, ”Sir, the lady in the purple dress just now seemed to be Madam Jiang, right?”

Jiang Yichun knew that his wife and her companions had slipped up and then stealthily hid away, finding the situation quite amusing. He held back a laugh and said, ”My wife holds shares in welcoming guests, and she often comes here to entertain friends.”

”Should we go greet Madam Jiang?” Yu Chenghua asked, his face turning slightly red. He was a martial artist at heart and disliked hollow pleasantries, so he added, ”I also wonder which family’s daughter the lady who was with Madam Jiang belongs to.”

Jiang Yichun immediately understood that it was not the wine that Yu Chenghua was interested in; he claimed he wished to greet Madam Jiang, but actually, he wanted to see Jiang Zhihe. He was pleased that Yu Chenghua took an immediate liking to Jiang Zhihe at first sight but wondered how Jiang Zhihe felt on her part.

”I was presumptuous; I should first see if it is convenient for Madam Jiang,” Yu Chenghua, although eager, was always prudent. When Jiang Yichun remained silent, he knew he had overstepped.

Jiang Yichun smiled and said to his subordinate, Shangfeng, ”Go ask my wife if it’s convenient for her to meet my subordinate and have a meal together.”

”Yes.” Shangfeng quickly went upstairs and knocked on the door of the private room where Bai Ruozhu was.

At that moment, Bai Ruozhu was still seeking Jiang Zhihe’s opinion, when the unexpected arrival of Shangfeng recited Jiang Yichun’s message.

Lady Jiang displayed a look of embarrassment, but Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help laughing, ”It seems that Yu Chenghua has recognized me, so he made that suggestion, but it’s up to you.”

”Yu also inquired about Miss Jiang, asking which family’s daughter she is,” Shangfeng said in a low voice.

Jiang Zhihe’s face hung even lower, Bai Ruozhu smiled towards Doctor Jiang’s wife, ”You are Achun’s relatives, so it’s normal to eat a meal together. Just now you said you saw too little, and here’s the opportunity, right?”

”Actually, that’s true, Zhihe, what do you think?” Doctor Jiang’s wife asked Jiang Zhihe, who lifted her head, dropped the demeanor of a youngest daughter, and tried to appear calm, ”Alright.”

Soon, Jiang Yichun brought Yu Chenghua into the private room. After exchanging greetings, Yu Chenghua learned that the woman upstairs was Jiang Yichun’s great-uncle’s wife, and the girl who had made eye contact with him was Jiang Yichun’s cousin.

For a moment Yu Chenghua felt somewhat disheartened. He knew Jiang Yichun’s status and standing; the woman before him was unlikely to fancy someone with his family background.

After they sat down, Bai Ruozhu busied herself adding a few dishes. Though Yu Chenghua felt somewhat disheartened, his speech was proper, which made Doctor Jiang’s wife even more satisfied. Although Jiang Zhihe didn’t show much on the surface, she was also content in her heart.

After the meal, Jiang Yichun and Yu Chenghua excused themselves to return to their duties, while Bai Ruozhu asked Jiang Zhihe and her mother for their thoughts.

”She seems quite good. I have no objections. It all depends on what Zhihe thinks,” Doctor Jiang’s wife said with an exceptionally radiant smile. A major worry had been resolved - how could she not be happy? Moreover, she could tell her daughter was surely satisfied as well.

Jiang Zhihe nodded her head, ”I also think he’s fine.”

She spoke confidently, which even caused Bai Ruozhu to nod in approval. When a life-changing decision was being made, wasn’t being too shy going to cause problems?

”That’s wonderful. Auntie, when you go back, discuss it with Uncle. If there are no issues, have Achun deliver a message to Yu Chenghua to come and bring the Matchmaker’s Card soon,” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile.

Jiang Zhihe frowned slightly, ”What if he’s not interested in me? Better not have Big Brother say it outright. After all, Big Brother is his superior; how could he refuse? A melon forced off its vine isn’t sweet; I don’t want to pressure anyone.”

Bai Ruozhu pursed her lips and giggled secretly, ”Alright, I understand.” However, she believed that Yu Chenghua appeared interested as well.

That evening, when she got home, Bai Ruozhu quietly inquired about the progress on Jiang Yichun’s end. He said with a smile, ”That Yu Chenghua lacks confidence. He probably thinks he’s not worthy of my cousin. But without Zhihe’s message, I didn’t dare to say more.”

Bai Ruozhu burst into laughter, ”Those in love sure like to fret over imaginary troubles. Zhihe also fancy Yu Chenghua, and she worries that he doesn’t fancy her.”

Jiang Yichun reached out and took Bai Ruozhu’s hand, smiling, ”Did you ever fret like that?”

Bai Ruozhu gave him a disdainful look, ”I’m slow on the uptake. Before I saved you, I never thought about anything. Even after saving you, I didn’t realize why I did such reckless things for you. And before I had the chance to think it over, you shamelessly clung to me.”

”Who are you calling shameless? Is that what you say about your own husband?” Jiang Yichun said as he reached out to tickle her.

Bai Ruozhu defiantly retorted, ”What about it? What? You dare deny it?”

Jiang Yichun pinned her down onto the bed directly, ”Alright then, I shamelessly clung to you, and that’s how it is now and how it will be in the future too. Can you ever escape from the palm of my hand?”

He said this with a particularly smug laugh before pressing down on his charming wife...

The days that followed were smooth sailing. The arrangements for Jiang Zhihe’s marriage were finalized very quickly, and even the Bai Family seniors shared in the joy. Bai Ruozhu started preparing for the Commerce Association meeting but, unexpectedly, one evening, an uninvited guest arrived at their home.
