Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Seeing her continuously looking down, afraid to lift her head, Xia Jinyuan encouraged her, ”Don’t be afraid, look at the person in the mirror, really very beautiful, so beautiful that I hate not being able to marry you today and keep you in the room for only me to admire.”

”When we get married, how about we wear red bridal gowns? At that time, you will certainly be even more beautiful than today. A red bridal gown, a red veil, to welcome my most beautiful bride.”

Red bridal gown, red veil, welcoming... the most beautiful bride...

Ye Jian finally lifted her head, and she finally saw herself more clearly in the mirror, her red dress like fire, her complexion fresh as new jade, with a man in a black overcoat standing beside her, tall and straight as a pine, one red and one black, they matched so well together.

She was the bride-to-be, and he was the groom-to-be; as images flashed through her mind, Ye Jian’s eyes filled with water-like anticipation.

Footsteps came from outside, Ye Jian, startled, stepped back from Xia Jinyuan’s embrace; the salesperson appeared at the dressing room door with shining eyes, ”Sorry, sorry, to disturb you, this... could you match this, please?”

”Your boyfriend has really good taste, you look so elegant in this red dress, and the length of the skirt is just right, just revealing your calves. Such beautiful legs should not be hidden away without a skirt. Pair it with a pair of high heels, and walking among the crowd, you’ll absolutely be the center of attention.”

Having already bent down to place the high heels on the floor, the salesperson looked forward to Ye Jian trying them on. Seeing that Ye Jian was not accustomed to wearing high heels, the salesperson smiled and said, ”The heel is very low, easy to walk in.”

”High heels too?” She hadn’t even put them on, and Ye Jian’s face was already full of refusal. Wearing a dress was uncomfortable enough, let alone high heels... She refused!

”Of course, with this dress, you need to pair it with high heels. Don’t worry, these are the lowest, most comfortable heels in our store, just try them.” After saying that, the salesperson bent down again, took the high heels in hand, ready to help Ye Jian put them on.

Ye Jian, dumbstruck and stepping back, her face filled with panic, unhesitatingly refused, ”I can’t wear high heels, don’t let me try them again...”

”Just give them a try. Our shoes here are really comfortable and won’t tire your feet at all, very suitable for a lady who doesn’t often wear high heels. Plus, you can be assured, we women have a knack for high heels, a few rounds and you’ll be accustomed to them.”

”I really can’t handle these,” Ye Jian kept waving her hands in refusal, to ask her to take a couple of turns in high heels was more daunting than asking her to walk barefoot. She turned to her boyfriend for help; what are you waiting for, save me, now!

The salesperson was overly enthusiastic, so much so that she was overwhelmed!

”Miss, if you’re not accustomed to high heels you can gradually get used to them. When the two of you get married, you’ll definitely need to wear high heels under the wedding dress. If you don’t get used to them now, it will be too late on the wedding day.” The persistent salesperson counseled Ye Jian, then turned to Xia Jinyuan, ”You can support her and walk around. I really am not deceiving you two, wearing high heels will make you even more graceful. If they don’t look good, you can hit me! I won’t fight back.”

Ye Jian: ”...” Girl, she’s just buying clothes, just buying shoes, not hitting people!

Having lived in a sheltered environment for years, once out in society, Ye Jian was so naive that she didn’t know how to refuse others, especially when they were so enthusiastic, leaving her even more confused.

A little more aggressive, a little more domineering, and she would have known how to respond.

This soft approach, she really didn’t know how to refuse.
