Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

It’s rather embarrassing to admit, but during the many years of dating, he had only accompanied his beloved to a shopping mall once, and even then, their relationship had not been fully confirmed.

After that, it never happened again.

This leave, Xia Jinyuan planned to make up for all the years he had neglected Ye Jian.

Since they were going to celebrate the New Year at home, Xia Jinyuan thought of buying his wife some beautiful clothes to have a splendid New Year. Once engaged, she was his wife for sure, with no escape!

Ye Jian was also in high spirits and even casually asked if Xia Jinyuan’s wallet was full today, and if she could shop freely.

Xia Jinyuan pulled his salary card from his wallet and handed it directly to Ye Jian, ”Four years in military school, several years working, this card has never been used, definitely enough to spend!”

Purchasing luxury items... If they didn’t buy too many, it should be enough, he guessed. Suddenly, Xia Jinyuan felt somewhat poor! Now he had to consider whether his salary was enough for luxury items!

Perhaps it was because they had mentioned Madam Xiao too often these past two days, but as soon as they stepped out of the private room, they ran into Madam Xiao head-on.

Both were looking down and talking, and did not see Madam Xiao at first, it was Madam Xiao who entered with the waiter and saw Xia Jinyuan first.

”Ah Yuan?” She called out excitedly, not quite sure in her hurried approach, ”Ah Yuan, Ah Yuan, is it really you?”

Hearing this, the two, who had been talking, looked up together. Xia Jinyuan glanced at the excited Madam Xiao, his gaze turned cold and dismissive, ignoring her as she approached and, holding Ye Jian’s hand, no longer spared her another glance.

The indifferent Madam Xiao did not give up despite Xia Jinyuan’s coldness; she was too excited by the unexpected encounter.

Who would have thought that today, while dining here with an old friend, she would run into her son whom she had not seen for years!

Over the years, Madam Xiao had always been trying to find information on Xia Jinyuan and his contact details, but since he had been in the army, he was completely unreachable. The Xia family refused to give her his contact details; she never imagined that her luck would be so good to just bump into him here.

Madam Xiao was so excited that tears welled up in her eyes; she blocked Ye Jian and Xia Jinyuan’s path, tears streaming down her face, ”Do you really not want to see mom? Mom has been looking for you for a very long time.”

This was her son, her own son; what could she do to make him forgive her past mistakes?

What could she do to earn his forgiveness?

In the face of Madam Xiao’s tears, Xia Jinyuan remained unflustered and unmoved, ”Madam Xiao, may I ask what you want?”

”Ah Yuan, you, you still can’t forgive mom, and you won’t even call me mom? No matter what, we are mother and son bound by blood.” Madam Xiao was now crying so hard her voice was choked, and she looked at Xia Jinyuan in agony, her tone miserable, ”What must mom do for you to forgive her?”

The sudden scene caused by Madam Xiao drew the attention of the passersby, with many gathering around to watch the spectacle. Those unaware of the details only saw Madam Xiao’s pitiable state, and harbored a biased view of Xia Jinyuan’s indifference.

Ye Jian narrowed her eyes, tugged at Xia Jinyuan’s hand; she took a small step forward, positioning herself in front of Xia Jinyuan, and said with a smile, ”Auntie, hello, excuse me for interrupting. This isn’t a good place to talk, let’s not stand here in the way and block other guests.”
