Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian was thinking about how to spend this precious little extended holiday. Besides spending time with her family, she naturally wanted to spend it with her boyfriend. However, when it came to the matter of dating, she really wasn’t familiar with the ins and outs.

Seeing her happy, contented expression, like a cat basking in the warm winter sun, Xia Jinyuan felt his heart relax. He raised his hand to rub her head and smiled, ”Alright, I’ll take care of the arrangements.”

Ye Jian started talking about the encounter with the Du family’s mother and daughter at the hospital last night and what Madam Li had said, telling it all to Xia Jinyuan, ”I know Madam Li did it on purpose to provoke me in front of Old Madam Qin, even deliberately bringing up your mother, but I hit back at her directly.”

”Oh? How did you hit back?” Xia Jinyuan was quite interested. He didn’t care at all what Madam Xiao thought.

His girlfriend standing up for him made him very happy inside.

As for his girlfriend helping the Qin family, V8 had already informed him and even seriously advised her that she must be cautious of Qin Xiu, and even gave a thorough analysis of Qin Xiu’s advantages.

Although the analysis was sharp, with Madam Qin being Qin Xiu’s mother, nothing else needed to be said!

Ye Jian didn’t feel the need to hide the fact that she helped the Qin family. She focused the topic on Madam Xiao, ”I told Madam Li that if Madam Xiao really wanted to know about your current situation, she would naturally find a way, without learning it from me.”

She knew Xia Jinyuan’s attitude towards Madam Xiao—knowing that he didn’t want to meet Madam Xiao, and even less interested in getting involved and playing peacemaker. She respected Xia Jinyuan’s decision.

After saying this, she asked, ”Do you think I’m the most disagreeable daughter-in-law?”

Xia Jinyuan burst into laughter, ”Baby, being a daughter-in-law comes with a certificate. Where’s yours? Besides, you are Xia family’s most beloved daughter-in-law, totally unrelated to that Madam Xiao.”

Having someone to back her up, Ye Jian felt great, and even more emboldened when confronting others.

As for Madam Xiao, well… she really didn’t see herself going to her and being a daughter-in-law who tried to win her favor.

The couple joined Old Man Xia for lunch, and the smile at the corner of his lips never faded throughout the meal. He had thought his granddaughter would leave early in the morning, but the sudden extension of her leave for ten more days made the creases on his smiling face deepen.

After lunch, Old Man Xia said he wanted to visit Old Master Qin in the hospital. Ye Jian and Xia Jinyuan, of course, went along. With timely medical intervention, Old Master Qin was in good physical condition. Seeing his good friend come to visit, he immediately expressed his desire to be discharged, ”I’ve never liked this place in my life; even the air makes me unhappy. They all insist on keeping me here!”

It sounded huffy, but in reality... As Old Man Xia sat down, he teased his old friend with his usual banter, ”Still being fussy at your age? The younger ones are being filial, and you’re complaining?”

”I can be filial at home. Staying in this hospital is pointless, pointless,” Old Master Qin said, shaking his head repeatedly. It was the hospital he detested, not the filial piety of the younger generations.

Regarding Qin Dingbo and Qin Yi, Old Master Qin was fed up with them. The first thing he did upon waking was kicking both father and son out of the hospital, only leaving Qin Ying, V8, and Qin Xiu to stay with him.

After chatting with the two elders, Ye Jian and Xia Jinyuan were shooed away by Old Man Xia, who told them to go enjoy their own private world.
