Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

She didn’t want to see anyone pointing fingers at Xia Jinyuan, so she simply stepped forward to play the villain herself.

Little did she know…

”I am speaking to my son, what does it have to do with this young lady? Why are you interjecting? Where are your manners?” Madam Xiao’s gaze turned toward Ye Jian, her words were anything but polite, ”If you feel that you’re in the way, you can leave first.”

Madam Xiao sized up Ye Jian, this unknown little vixen who dared to seduce her son, and even dared to speak out of turn.

Chenglan was probably not wrong, Ah Yuan was avoiding seeing his own mother, just because of her!

Xia Jinyuan tightened his grip on Ye Jian’s hand and looked at her before saying to Madam Xiao, ”Madam Xiao, I hope you will show some respect to my fiancée.”

”Fiancée?” Madam Xiao’s tone rose sharply, her voice sounding somewhat shrill, ”Ah Yuan, how is she suddenly your fiancée? Does your father know? Do your grandparents know?”

Fiancée? He actually wants to marry a country village girl!

Hearing her words, Xia Jinyuan’s eyes turned colder than before. Madam Xiao’s heart skipped a beat, realizing she may have overreacted, she quickly adjusted her expression and softened her voice, ”Mom didn’t mean anything else. It’s mainly that you, Ah Yuan, are still young, there’s no need to rush things! This young lady also looks very young, you can both spend more time understanding each other, and consider marriage when you are older, which would be more suitable.”

Madam Xiao, just thinking about what Madam Li had told her, felt countless dissatisfactions towards Ye Jian.

Minister of Foreign Affairs family, Li family, and Commander Xia family’s heirs were all high branches she wanted to cling to. Whichever branch she could climb onto, she would settle on! Where in the world could there be such good fortune!

Xia Jinyuan immediately knew that Madam Li must have said something, his handsome face darkened with a hint of hostility, ”My affairs are none of your concern, Madam Xiao. I’ll repeat what I said before, the year you left me behind to pursue your own happiness, and now, please continue to stay away from me and live your own life well. My affairs will never need your meddling, that’s what you always wanted, isn’t it?”

Madam Xiao had naturally developed the ability to be flexible over the years, and with a pleasing expression, she said to Xia Jinyuan, ”Ah Yuan, Mom is just concerned about you. How about we change the place and talk? Mom has reserved a private room. Let’s go inside to talk.”

Madam Xiao had arranged to meet these friends today precisely to probe for news about Xia Jinyuan. She didn’t expect to actually run into him here, truly saving her a lot of effort.

As soon as she finished speaking, a lady around the same age as Madam Xiao walked out of one of the private rooms. They had been listening for a while, and Madam Xiao had also mentioned to them the grievances between the mother and son; naturally, they were on Madam Xiao’s side.

They all urged Xia Jinyuan, ”Ah Yuan, right? Your mother has been painstakingly trying to find out your whereabouts. To get a bit of news about you, your mother has been asking everyone for help, even a tiny bit of news about you makes her happy for a long time.”

”Just the other day, she was telling us that as long as she knows where you are, she would be willing to shorten her lifespan. It seems that your mother’s hardship has indeed moved Heaven, arranging for you and your mother to meet here today. Since you have met your mother, just have a good talk. There are no overnight resentments between a mother and son. If there are things to be said, talk it out, don’t hold onto your anger.”
