Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

He was no longer as casual as before. Instead, he was more cautious. This cautiousness came from Captain Lei thinking about why the higher-ups arranged for Ye Jian to come to his team.

Could it be that the higher-ups wanted to transfer Ye Jian to his team?

This thought flashed past his mind. In the middle of the night, Captain Lei’s back was covered in sweat. That was impossible! That couldn’t be! Would the army bear to let her go? Would the leaders of Ye Jian’s military unit agree?

They would probably fight to the death and not let her go!

But if that wasn’t the case, why did the higher-ups ask Ye Jian to come over? What were the plans of the air force commander? What did the army commander want to do?

Although their team wasn’t a top-secret special forces unit, they didn’t show their faces easily. They had always been hidden. If the higher-ups didn’t plan to transfer Ye Jian to their team, why did they arrange this?

Not only did he end up embarrassing himself, but his heart was also in a mess. He couldn’t figure out what the higher-ups wanted to do.

After thinking about it, Captain Lei still felt that his initial guess was very likely… The higher-ups wanted to transfer Ye Jian to the air force team.

If that was the case… Captain Lei glanced at the female soldier walking with him from the corner of his eyes. With her heaven-defying marksmanship, he would welcome her!

Some time ago, during a meeting in the military district, the commander even suggested that the team recruit a batch of female soldiers. Huh?

Captain Lei seemed to have thought of something. His eyes lit up. That was right!

The division commander had made a suggestion at the meeting some time ago. He then arranged for a female soldier from the army to come to the team to practice. The division commander had personally instructed him to observe the female soldier for two days, but he couldn’t tell the female soldier that this was an arrangement from the higher-ups. Wasn’t the motive obvious?

It was obvious that they arranged for the female soldier to come to his team!

To ’snatch’ such a powerful female soldier from the army, the division commander and the headquarters must have fought with the commander of the army!

After the experiment ended, he had to call the commander to ask if anyone was injured and if it was victorious.

Ye Jian didn’t know that Captain Lei was thinking about so many things. Seeing that they were about to reach the tent, Ye Jian thought of a question. ”Captain Lei, do I need to stand guard tonight?”

Ye Jian could only ask tactfully where she should sleep tonight.

Captain Lei smiled and looked at Ye Jian differently. ”I didn’t arrange for you to stand guard tonight. The tent with the sand table is your resting place tonight. There’s a sleeping bag there. You can go over directly. Wake up on time and gather at 5:00 am.”

Ye Jian, who knew where she was sleeping now, could feel the subtle change in Captain Lei’s gaze when he looked at her. She wanted to guess the reason, but Captain Lei said, ”Did you want to become an airborne soldier in the past?”

There was no such thing!

Ye Jian smiled. ”I’ve never thought of it.”

Never thought of it? Captain Lei frowned. ”But I see you’re quite interested in airborne soldiers.”

”My interest doesn’t mean I want to be one.”

Ye Jian’s reply made Captain Lei’s heart tighten. No wonder the commander said that he couldn’t tell the female soldier that it was an arrangement from the higher-ups!

Seeing that Captain Lei was still standing, Ye Jian felt even stranger.

She already felt that today’s and tomorrow’s arrangements were strange. Now that Captain Lei was asking such questions, Ye Jian’s doubts got heavier. When she thought of something, alarm bells rang in her heart.

She said seriously, ”I’m interested in the airborne soldiers because I think they’re very powerful. However, I still like the army. I like the feeling of being on earth. Also, I’m afraid of heights!”

She… was afraid of heights!

Captain Lei, who had left, didn’t believe it at all. At the same time, he understood his commander’s good intentions. In order to snatch the female soldier, he must have worked hard!
