Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Although the stage carefully arranged by the soldiers was not gorgeous and could even be considered simple, no one cared. All their attention was on their comrades who were happily performing in the middle of the stage.

There were skits, crosstalk, singing, dancing… Everyone cheered. After a singing performance, the next performance was a ’mysterious’ performance. Gao Xiao looked at it for a long time and asked the male soldier who was with her, ”A mysterious performance? What sort of mysterious performance have the male soldiers prepared? Haven’t you guys been rehearsing everything?”

The male emcee was a little surprised too. ”Isn’t it a mysterious performance arranged by you female soldiers?”

”No.” Gao Xiao was flabbergasted. ”We only have four performances, and there were rehearsals for all of it. If it’s not us or you… How are we going to announce the show later? Are we going to say that there’s a mystery guest?”

The male soldier thought for a moment and felt that Gao Xiao’s idea was not bad. ”I think that works. Let’s say that we’ve invited a mystery guest.”

”Even as emcees, we don’t know about it. That’s really mysterious.” Gao Xiao was not curious. After all, she would soon find out what it was.

When the female soldiers went on stage to perform, the applause was several times louder than the male soldiers. After the male soldiers got off the stage, they returned to their seats and secretly punched their comrades to show their dissatisfaction.

The comrades who were punched weren’t angry. Instead, they clapped even louder and brighter. Ever since they came to the Vanguard Battalion, this was the first time they saw the female soldiers performing. It was rare. Of course, the applause had to be enthusiastic.

The female soldiers were versatile. When they were dancing, they made difficult movements. Gao Xiao didn’t even need to support herself with her hands. She did a backflip, and her legs made a straight split. Then, she bent her back and made another split. Her legs landed steadily. These moves caused the male soldiers to clap hard.

Brilliant, exciting! So very exciting!

Political Commissar Tang smiled at Battalion Commander Tian and said, ”Old Tian, in the future, they’ll be the soldiers of our Vanguard Battalion. Aren’t you happy?”

”Hahaha, I am happy! However, we still don’t know if they’re really going to join our team. So, don’t have too much hope.” Battalion Commander Tian was clapping his hands and smiling as he spoke, but the smile on Commissar Tang’s face faded a little.

”What do you mean? You have to explain it clearly.” Commissar Tang was no longer in the mood to watch the performances. Could it be that they wouldn’t be soldiers of the Vanguard Battalion in the future?

”What do you mean what do I mean?” Battalion Commander Tian, who was in a good mood, pointed at the soldier doing a few more backflips and laughed. ”This female soldier is not bad. Not bad! She’s a talent.”

Political Commissar Tang took a quick glance and happened to see Gao Xiao’s performance coming to an end. He was so distracted that he missed the exciting performance. He asked again, ”Your words are unclear. How can I understand?

”What do you mean that we don’t know whether they’ll be our soldiers in the future? Could it be that something has happened?”

”Old Tang, Old Tang, have you forgotten? It’s not up to us to keep them. It depends on themselves. They need the approval of the higher-ups.”

”Make yourself clear next time!” Commissar Tang finally calmed down. ”With the strict requirements Instructor Ye gave them, they can pass!”

”Yes, Instructor Ye is indeed capable. If the female soldiers can’t stay, it means that they’re not cut out for it. It’s good to make a decision as soon as possible so that they won’t be implicated.”
