Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Xia Jinyuan didn’t expect Ye Jian to be waiting for him in the room. He knew that something was wrong.

Seeing this, he couldn’t help but close the door lightly and bolt it.

”Why do you look like you’re in a bad mood? Did I make you angry?”

Ye Jian would never bring her emotions to Xia Jinyuan when it came to matters of the military unit. That was why Xia Jinyuan asked if he had angered Ye Jian.

”I heard that you’re planning to show off your skills at the gala?” Ye Jian didn’t want to beat about the bush and directly explained her intention. ”Why did you include me? If I hadn’t met Battalion Commander Tian just now, I would’ve been kept in the dark.”

There was nothing to be angry about. She just felt a little wronged.

He could have told her directly. Why did he have to hide it?

Would she not cooperate with him?

She had always supported what he wanted to do.

Ye Jian, who was self-reliant and independent, would only have the temper of a little girl in front of Xia Jinyuan. Just like how Xia Jinyuan was a little naughty in front of Ye Jian.

It could be considered small fun between lovers.

Xia Jinyuan only remembered this when he heard that.

He didn’t even take off his soldier cap. He hurriedly coaxed his girlfriend. ”I wasn’t hiding it from you. I was so busy that I forgot about it. If Battalion Commander Tian hadn’t mentioned it, I would’ve completely forgotten about it.”

At the end of the year, not only was Battalion Commander Tian busy, but Xia Jinyuan too. The 20 male soldiers he brought were the best in the entire camp. The 10 male soldiers would patrol for ten days during the festivities. Xia Jinyuan would participate too. Hence, the male soldiers’ training arrangements had to be adjusted accordingly.

Ye Jian didn’t know that Xia Jinyuan would leave the camp to patrol at 1:00 am on the first day of the new year. He wouldn’t come back until the tenth night of the new year. She couldn’t know all the arrangements in the camp, and Xia Jinyuan couldn’t tell her everything.

Although they were in the same military unit, he couldn’t tell her his whereabouts just because they were close.

Ye Jian didn’t question his explanation. Instead, she couldn’t help but laugh because he was so careful, afraid that she would flare up.

”Alright, alright. I’m not angry. I thought you were hiding it from me on purpose so that you could give me a shock on the day of the gala.”

He was so busy and tired. How could she bear to let him coax her?

It was just a small matter. Moreover, his attitude had already told her that he had indeed forgotten about it. He didn’t mean to hide it.

Xia Jinyuan heaved a sigh of relief. ”You really scared me. I rarely remember you looking at me like this.”

”I was just pretending. Couldn’t you tell?” Ye Jian didn’t believe him. With his ability, how could he not tell that she was doing it on purpose?

Xia Jinyuan laughed. ”I really couldn’t tell. It’s rare to see you like that. And I wasn’t in the mood to observe if you were pretending. Come, touch my forehead.”

After he finished speaking, he bent down slightly and leaned closer.

Ye Jian raised her hand and touched it. Her palm immediately felt wet. ”Were you sweating from the fright?”

That was an exaggeration.

”Yes, I was really sweating from fright.” Xia Jinyuan held Ye Jian’s hand that was about to be retracted. Naturally, it moved smoothly. ”I’m already sweating from fright. Aren’t you going to wipe my sweat and comfort me?”

”You’re doing it again. You scare me all the time? But I’ve never made any conditions!” Ye Jian had always been helpless against his personality.

Xia Jinyuan raised his eyebrows. ”I’ve never stopped you. You can raise your conditions to me. I hope that you can beg me more. There’s sweat on my back too. Wipe it for me.”
