Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian wasn’t aware of Gao Xiao’s tortured thoughts. The first part of the punishment had ended. It wasn’t over yet. She wanted to tell all the female soldiers that they were a group, an inseparable group. They had to have a collective spirit.

They also knew that they had made a mistake, so everyone had to be punished. They had to be aware of themselves at all times and remind themselves that they were not an individual but a group!

They would share blessings and suffer together. Even as an instructor, Ye Jian was no exception.

They immediately went back to their rooms to pack their luggage. They would all carry weights and run for 30 kilometers. They would camp in the desert until they returned to the camp the next day in time for breakfast!

As for dinner, there was no need!

Xia Jinyuan had been paying attention to the situation of the female soldiers. He even saw Ye Jian leaving the camp with 20 female soldiers. Battalion Commander Tian told him that the female soldiers were carrying weights for a 30-kilometer cross-country trip tonight. They were camping in the desert.

After he finished speaking, he pondered for a moment. Battalion Commander Tian continued, ”Do you want to give it a try too? The temperature in the desert at night is -20 degrees Celsius. This is their first time going out. I’m really worried.

”There won’t be a problem with Instructor Ye. She has undergone desert training before. As for other female soldiers… it’s indeed worrying.” Xia Jinyuan was indeed a little worried. Before he could say that he could bring the male soldiers to give it a try, Company Commander Zhu ran over from afar.

He ran over. Before he could catch his breath, he said, ”Battalion Commander, I just heard that the female soldiers are carrying weights for a 30-kilometer cross-country trip? They’re even camping in the desert and won’t rush back until tomorrow morning! What about us? Should we go too?”

”It’s good that you’re here. I have the same intention too. Let Captain Xia bring the 20 male soldiers along so that we can take care of each other.” Battalion Commander Tian didn’t know what Company Commander Zhu wanted to say and simply suggested, ”Both sides will be training together. Why don’t we get the male soldiers to carry the weights together as well?”

This time, Company Commander Zhu didn’t voice against the battalion commander. He thought for a moment and nodded. ”Sure. The male soldiers under Captain Xia are all elites of our camp. It’s indeed reassuring for them to go along.”

As it turned out, Company Commander Zhu ran over because he was worried about the female soldiers.

Less than 15 minutes after Ye Jian left with 20 female soldiers, Xia Jinyuan left with the male soldiers so that they could take care of each other.

As for what happened in the female soldier class, Battalion Commander Tian didn’t say anything when he found out. He didn’t have any objections to Ye Jian’s decision either. He even said to Commissar Tang, ”Instructor Ye is quite cold-hearted. That’s how one should do it.”

”She even dared to swing a dagger at her comrade. If we don’t educate her properly, who knows how much trouble she’ll cause in the future?”

”Since Instructor Ye has punished her severely and has no intention of reporting it, let’s pretend that we don’t know about this. She has full authority to handle it.”

Commissar Tang raised his objections, ”We can’t pretend that we don’t know anything, and we can’t just let it go. We can’t avoid criticism. We can’t encourage a bad atmosphere. We can’t leave any hidden dangers.

”Shall we discuss it together after Instructor Ye is back? We can’t go past her, right?”

Commissar Tang nodded. ”Yes, we should discuss it with her.”

On the other hand, Xia Jinyuan, who had caught up with Ye Jian, said to her, ”You can’t just deal with it in class. Gao Xiao’s mistake isn’t simple. If she had only used her fists, you could deal with it in your class without reporting it.

”However, she used a dagger. It can be seen as intentional murder or injury. The situation is serious. If you only handle it in your class, the battalion commander and political commissar won’t agree.”

Ye Jian lacked experience in these matters. Xia Jinyuan needed to remind her.
