Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

He was the one who heard her footsteps and walked over to open the door.

She saw that he had turned on the lights in front of his desk and there was a notebook on it. There was a pen on the notebook, so she knew that he was writing a report.

Ye Jian didn’t come in immediately. ”Did I disturb you?”

”No, I’m almost done.” Xia Jinyuan turned his body and reached out his hand. He grabbed Ye Jian’s wrist and pulled her into his room.

Ye Jian didn’t expect him to suddenly pull her. She was caught off guard and jumped into his arms.

The door was closed by Xia Jinyuan’s long leg. He hugged Ye Jian tightly and laughed softly. ”Did you miss me so much? You’re so anxious to snuggle into my arms.”

”You suddenly pulled me, and I lost my balance.” Ye Jian defended herself. However, she didn’t escape from his warm arms. Instead, she leaned over and reached out to hug his waist. She said slowly, ”I missed you a little, so I came to look for you immediately.”

Hearing that, Xia Jinyuan’s eyes were filled with gentleness. He lowered his head and kissed her hair. He smiled and sighed. ”I missed you more than you missed me. I didn’t miss you a little. I missed you very much.

”Especially when I thought about spending the Spring Festival with you for the first time, I missed you even more.”

Ye Jian, who was buried in his arms, nodded heavily. ”Yes, we’ll celebrate the Spring Festival together this year. When the time comes, we’ll call home to wish our elders. My grandfather will definitely be sitting by the phone again, waiting for my call.”

”Okay, let’s call the old master first to wish him a happy new year. Then, we’ll call my grandpa and grandma. As for my father, we have to greet him too. Otherwise, he’ll be so angry that he’ll run back to the military to work overtime on the first day of the new year. It’s the new year. We should let the guards have a good rest. We shouldn’t cause them trouble.”

After he finished speaking, Ye Jian said softly, ”I have to talk to my grandpa more. Dad didn’t go home this year, and I didn’t go home either. Only Uncle Fu is accompanying Grandpa for the holidays. Grandpa… is very lonely.”

Old Master Xia and Old Madam Xia had many children and grandchildren. The entire family needed four tables. As for the Fu family… The entire family only needed four seats. If Uncle Fu went home, there would be another empty seat.

The Fu family was too cold.

Fortunately, the old man was already used to it. Moreover, students would come to accompany the old man for the Spring Festival. This could comfort the old man.

Xia Jinyuan placed his chin on the top of Ye Jian’s head and nodded. ”It’s what we should do. In the future, as long as we can return to the capital city for the new year, we’ll accompany the old master to welcome the new and bid farewell to the old.”

The Xia family was very lively during the new year. A few more children were born, so it was even more lively.

Hence, when Xia Jinyuan suggested going to the Fu family to spend the new year with Grandpa Fu, the Xia family didn’t have any objections.

Xia Jinyuan’s understanding made Ye Jian step on the ground. She kissed his chin lightly. ”Thank you, Captain Xia.”

”Why are you thanking me? I’m the son-in-law of the Fu family. Why? Do you want to treat me like an outsider? I’ll be angry if you do that.” Xia Jinyuan pretended to be angry and raised his chin. ”Hurry up and kiss me again to comfort me. If not, I’ll be angry until tomorrow morning!”

He was trying to get a kiss.

Ye Jian was willing to cooperate even though she knew that he did it on purpose. This time, it wasn’t just a simple tiptoe. She hooked her arms around his neck and kissed his lips.

The last time they kissed was the day they first came to the camp. It was so long ago that Ye Jian, who had always restrained herself, became exceptionally proactive.

The weather was too cold. It was so cold that she needed a warm hug. That was why she was impulsive.
