Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Sure enough, Wang Rui lost. ”So what if you earn a salary? Are you looking down on me because I don’t earn a salary?”

The two of them laughed. The unfamiliar feeling due to a long separation gradually disappeared, and more and more topics were being discussed.

”The biggest difference in the military school is the military management. There’s also the lessons. Our physical fitness is more important. Not much emphasis is placed on cultural studies, but scientific research is still very important. Studying and physical fitness are two different things. If we fail any subjects, we’ll have to work hard to make up for it.

”We can’t go out to play casually either. We can’t go out during the holidays as well. We have to have a release notice. That’s why we don’t expect to get leave during holidays. Even if we have a holiday, we’d be requisitioned. It’s hard to take a holiday during National Day and May 1st. We’ll still exercise and perhaps rest for a day at most.

”Communication is very inconvenient. Once you enter the school, you’ll be isolated from the world. All communication devices will be handed over. If you don’t, you’ll be caught. The punishment is strict, so no one will dare to break the rules.

”I’m eating well. The food is not bad. It’s enough to keep me full. As for the clothes…” Ye Jian patted the camouflage uniform on her body. ”I wear the military uniform all year round. I don’t have many chances to wear casual clothes, so that saves me time from shopping.

”It’s the same as the military unit. There’s no difference. How the military unit is managed is how the military school is managed. It’s very strict, but after getting used to it, it’s fine.”

Ye Jian was talking about the differences between military schools and universities. Wang Rui exclaimed when she heard the reply. ”No, no. If it were us, we’d want to escape after three days at most.

”No holiday, only training! And I have to hand in my communication device too? Although you have a salary, these rules and regulations are enough to make me give up! Fortunately, I didn’t register for the military school. If not, I would’ve gone crazy.”

Just listening to it made her panic. The military school students weren’t allowed to do so many things. They would be randomly inspected. If they didn’t button their clothes properly, they would be criticized. If they didn’t wear their caps properly or didn’t bring their identification documents with them…

”You have to be disciplined about food, accommodation, and clothes…” Wang Rui summarized with her fingers. In the end, she glared at Ye Jian in horror. ”Ye Jian, is there any aspect that’s lax?”

Her overly shocked expression made Ye Jian laugh softly. Ye Jian thought about it carefully and shook her head. She said seriously, ”I don’t think so. Everything is strictly enforced.”

”That’s crazy! How did you survive three years in military school? You’re still so energetic too. It’s unbelievable! I finally understand why when the teachers knew that you were going to apply for military school, they all persuaded you to reconsider it. It’s so impressive that you were able to survive such strict management.”

If it were her, she might not even be able to last a day in the school, let alone three days.

The rules and restrictions that Wang Rui was shocked by were nothing to Ye Jian. Without rules, nothing could be done. If the military unit didn’t have rules, how could they protect the country?

Time passed quickly as Wang Rui exclaimed from time to time. They chatted until 11:30 pm before Wang Rui left reluctantly.

The next day, there was still military training. Ye Jian needed to rest early. If not, Wang Rui would definitely drag Ye Jian to her dormitory and chat until dawn.

Tonight was destined to be another night of private conversations. Many students were talking about Instructor Ye’s sword dance to Ambush from Ten Sides. Some felt that Instructor Ye danced very well, while others felt that she couldn’t be compared to a professional. However, they all felt the tragic sorrow of the dance.

The night was dark, and the commotion was over. Only the lamps were quietly shining.
