Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

What was Huang Yawen trying to do by climbing the guardrail in the middle of the night?

Ye Jian was so frightened that she broke out in a cold sweat. She didn’t dare to stop Huang Yawen at all. She was afraid that if she suddenly spoke, she would scare her.

Huang Yawen didn’t notice Ye Jian. This was the first time she didn’t succeed. She hugged the outer wall with both hands and stood motionless. She took deep breaths.

’Come on, Huang Yawen! You can definitely do it! If other people can do it, you can definitely do it too!’

She just needed to try again. If she tried again, she might succeed!

Huang Yawen closed her eyes. She didn’t feel so afraid anymore. She started moving again…

Ye Jian didn’t give her a chance to move. The moment she got close, she hugged Huang Yawen’s thigh and pulled her inside. With a scream, Huang Yawen was pulled back to the corridor of the fourth floor.

The scream came from Huang Yawen. A scream suddenly sounded in the quiet dormitory building. The girls who weren’t asleep got goosebumps.

Ye Jian covered Huang Yawen’s mouth in time and didn’t give her a chance to scream again. ”Huang Yawen, why aren’t you sleeping in the middle of the night? Why did you come out to climb over the railing? If you fall, do you think anyone will be able to find you in an instant?”

The cold voice floated into Huang Yawen’s ears again. Her entire body froze like a rock. Even her screams were stuck in her throat. She widened her eyes in fear, not knowing what to do.

A few flashlights shone upstairs from the first floor. Ye Jian stood up and stood by the railing. She said to the teacher who was alarmed, ”Teacher, I’m fine. I was frightened by a mouse.”

The teacher in charge of the dormitory heaved a sigh of relief. She didn’t recognize Ye Jian. She raised her voice and said sternly, ”Hurry up and go back to the dormitory to sleep!”

”Yes, Teacher.”

Ye Jian, who was acting as a student, replied. Then, she turned around and looked at Huang Yawen. She saw that she was trying to escape.

She took a few steps and blocked her path. She said in a low voice, ”Do you know what you were doing just now? Aren’t you going to explain it to me?”

…

In front of Ye Jian, Huang Yawen, who had turned from a tiger into a mouse, hunched her back and explained nervously.

Ye Jian was speechless.

She really wanted to scold her!

Huang Yawen wanted to see if she could jump onto the drainage pipe and slide to the first floor. That was why she sneaked over when everyone was sleeping.

Ye Jian took a deep breath and suppressed the anger in her heart. She tried her best to make her voice calm. ”The fourth floor is so high up. Every floor is three meters high, so the fourth floor is 12 meters high. In addition, you’re 1.7 meters tall. Do you know the consequences of falling from a height of 14 meters?”

Huang Yawen was so scared that she was about to cry. She kept nodding. She knew. Of course, she knew.

Then why did she do it when she already knew?!

Ye Jian was so angry that she laughed. ”If you know it, why did you still do it? Tell me the reason. What’s the reason you forsook your life and climbed over the railing?”

”Instructor, I just want to be a soldier. I thought that if you could climb over it, I… I could definitely do it too.”

This was the first time Huang Yawen spoke to Ye Jian since that night. Her voice was as soft as a mosquito.

She wanted to be a soldier… Ye Jian was furious. She remembered Huang Yawen’s unreasonable behavior that night. She was arrogant and unreasonable… Yet, she wanted to be a soldier.

It was a good thing to want to be a soldier, but it didn’t look like she wanted to be a soldier. It looked more like she wanted to die!

Ye Jian adjusted her breathing again. Her voice was so deep that it was rusty. ”If I can do it, you can do it too? Who told you that? I’ve undergone professional training. Have you? You learned free combat, not climbing! Do you know why I can climb? I’ve been training for almost seven years. What about you? Where did you get the confidence to think that you can climb too?

”Huang Yawen, it’s good to be bold, but you’re audacious now!”
