Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Huang Yawen really wanted to ask Ye Jian something, but she didn’t dare to. Now that Ye Jian suddenly asked, she swallowed her saliva and made up her mind. She closed her eyes and asked quickly, ”Instructor, did you really not rely on your connections to enter the military school?”

What she said made Ye Jian feel like vomiting blood. She took a deep breath before replying, ”You need to take exams to enter military schools. Just like how you got into Xiangnan University, you need to take exams too. You can only enter the military school after an interview, a physical examination, and a political review.

”connections? Why don’t you find one for me?”

Huang Yawen quickly raised her head and glanced at Ye Jian. Then, she quickly said, ”I just can’t find any connections. That’s why I’m asking you.”

”Then let me tell you now. It doesn’t matter. You have to take the exams yourself. Do you want to be a soldier? University students can be one too. Change your bad habits and try again. You can’t be domineering, unreasonable, stubborn, and condescending… If you don’t change your bad habits, you won’t be able to pass the first round.

”Also, even if you really become a soldier one day, you shouldn’t think of yourself as all that. There are many capable people in the military unit. It’s far beyond your imagination. Don’t think that you’re so great just because you learned free combat. In our eyes, it’s easy to get rid of you.

”If you want to be a soldier, you have to change yourself first. Otherwise, it’s useless even if you want to be one.”

Ye Jian was really frustrated. What kind of family raised a child like Huang Yawen? Wanting to use connections? Could it be that her family relied on connections? Did she think that there was no other solution?

Huang Yawen lowered her head again. After a while, she said in a low voice, ”Oh.” She was confused. She didn’t understand what Ye Jian meant.

However, she didn’t ask anymore. She followed Ye Jian back to the dormitory obediently.

The news that Huang Yawen wanted to try to climb the drainpipe on the fourth floor didn’t spread. Only Ye Jian knew about it.

In the following days of training, Huang Yawen became more honest and quiet. Even the girls in the dormitory felt that she had changed a lot. Sometimes, they were willing to take the initiative to talk to her.

Every time the training ended, the boys would pester Ye Jian to ask her about military school and the military unit. As for the boys, they had a natural bloodthirstiness and yearned for the military. As long as it didn’t involve secrets, Ye Jian would answer their questions seriously.

Other than Ye Jian’s class, the other classes were the same. Even when Song Zhiqiu and the rest returned to the dormitory, they had to entertain the boys who came to visit from time to time and answer their questions.

During lunch, a third-year student laughed softly and said, ”Why do I feel like we’re spies who have infiltrated the enemy’s ranks?”

The other third-year students nodded in agreement.

As they interacted from time to time, the students and instructors got along harmoniously.

Director Guan smiled at the chief instructor. ”The students from the National Science University are still the best. After a few consecutive military trainings, this batch is the most honest and obedient. They make me the least worried.”

In the previous batches, there were even fights between instructors.

This time, from the start to the eighth day of military training, everything was calm. Besides the students who fainted from heatstroke, no other accidents happened. Also, the students and instructors cooperated well. The students looked forward to nightfall the most. They hoped to chat with the instructors more.

The day after tomorrow was the tenth day of the military training. It was time for it to end.

As the military training neared its end, there were obvious changes to the 1,200 plus new students. Take the military stance, as an example. It was not a problem for them to stand still for half an hour. The leaders who came to observe from time to time nodded secretly.

On the night of the ninth day, Ye Jian and the other 36 instructors received the news that Xiangnan University had decided to merge the new students from the two campuses and review them together tomorrow. At the same time, the instructors in charge of the other campus hoped to have a martial arts performance with the instructors here.
