The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 833: Chapter 833: Interested in being our captain?

Marcellus Foster quietly left, and Carson Flores waited for a long time before returning to the camp.

He didn’t want to be seen meeting with Marcellus Foster, especially by people from Kahdas, lest Bryant James find out.

Although Bryant James had just been dealt with, the chances of him acting against the wind were very low, but Carson Flores didn’t want any slip-ups.

Adelaide Bautista had previously separated from Carson Flores. She would pretend she couldn’t catch up to the perpetrator and reluctantly return, saying nothing about the situation with the Demon Emperor Heir.

After all, so many people had witnessed the event, and the Supreme Elder of Kahdas was there, so there was no need for her to say more.

Benson Bernard brought Carson Flores back to the camp, and as soon as the two appeared, they were spotted.

Benson Bernard was invited by an important figure to discuss how to deal with the aftermath of the event, while Carson Flores was surrounded by Kash Lam and others who had heard the news and rushed over.

”Carson, you sure are lucky to have been kidnapped by the Demon Emperor Heir and still come back safely!”

Kash Lam exclaimed excitedly, ”You had us scared to death. You won’t blame us for not rescuing you, right? It’s not that we didn’t want to help; we just weren’t strong enough. If it weren’t for your shout, I’m afraid many of us wouldn’t even know how many would have died.”

Carson Flores smiled and said, ”Didn’t you all take action for me before? How could I blame you?”

Lainey Dragon asked joyfully, ”Were you rescued by the eldest apprentice brother?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Yes, that man seemed to be in an unstable condition. He didn’t get far before he was caught up by the eldest apprentice brother. He seemed somewhat afraid of him, so he threw me to the eldest apprentice brother and took the chance to escape.”

Kenzo Conley asked puzzledly, ”Why did he take you as a hostage?”

Carson Flores had already thought of an answer, ”I guess after he exchanged a punch with my eldest apprentice brother and got injured, he thought my eldest apprentice brother was the strongest here. Having heard my eldest apprentice brother tell me to break through, he knew he cared about me, so he came over to take me as a hostage to facilitate his escape.”

Holden Simmons frowned and said, ”But weren’t the Demon Race dominating at that time? He had no need to flee.”

Carson Flores shook his head, ”I’m not sure about that, I think although he is the heir to the Demon Emperor and commanded those Great Demons in battle, those Great Demons aren’t truly his subordinates. As long as there were Human Cultivators around, they might have still stuck together, but once the Human Cultivators were driven away, it’s not guaranteed they would remain united. Perhaps some of the Great Demons still coveted the Heart of the Demon Emperor, so he was cautious and chose to flee.”

This wasn’t made up, but rather a conclusion drawn by the eldest apprentice brother.

This is like me standing forth now, presenting the Emperor Seal, telling everyone I have the Emperor Seal, I am the Human Emperor Heir, and you all should follow my commands. Perhaps a part of them would comply, but with my own strength being so weak, definitely many would harbor other ideas.

Although it wasn’t clear how those Great Demons had assembled there, it was obvious they were drawn by the Tomb of the Demon Emperor. They didn’t expect a Demon Emperor Heir to emerge.

Carson Flores speculated that the young and beautiful fox demon might actually be the real planner of this scheme, leveraging those of the Demon Race.

Lainey Dragon smiled, ”Regardless, it’s good news that you escaped safely. Everyone was tricked heavily this time. We saw the Tomb of the Demon Emperor and only managed to obtain a few magical treasures. Forget about the Emperor Sovereign Scripture, we didn’t even see any sign of the map of the skies or the Nine Demon Pagoda...”

Terry from the Demon Sun Sect sighed, ”Just coming back without anyone missing is good enough. It was clearly a trap set by the Demon Race using the Tomb of the Demon Emperor. They intended to lure the Human Cultivators inside to kill them all with a deadly poison. But they probably didn’t anticipate that you would head into the depths of Harmony Hollow first and find the Spiritual Spring which could detoxify, maintaining your combat power. Otherwise, rashly entering would have meant death for everyone, with not a single survivor.”

Ty Baker from the Spiritual Valley laughed, ”Yes, it’s good that everyone is safe. This time, we charged out together and everyone was fine, which worked well. If we had each fought on our own, I fear many of us might have perished.”

Kenzo Conley from the Supreme Sect turned to look at Lainey Dragon, ”Speaking of which, I think the proposal we made earlier is pretty good. I personally support it.”

Lainey Dragon smiled slightly, ”I have no objections.”

Kash Lam chuckled mischievously, glancing at Carson Flores, ”I certainly don’t have a problem, I was the one who suggested it.”

Terry from the Demon Sun Sect, Ty Baker from the Spiritual Valley, Holden Simmons from the Kahdas, and others all expressed their opinions, unanimously agreeing.

Carson Flores looked at everyone’s secretive expressions and asked perplexedly, ”What are you guys talking about? Are you speaking in some secret code? I can’t understand a single word.”

Everyone burst into laughter at once.

Kash Lam slapped Carson Flores on the shoulder, put an arm around his shoulder, and said cheerily, ”Isn’t next year when we explore the True Dragon Secret Realm? Bryant James wanted to be the team leader, but with him being so devious, who would dare let him be the leader? So we propose letting you be our team leader. What do you think, are you interested?”
