The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 830: Chapter 830: We Just Hope You’re Still You

Westin’s sudden movement startled Carson, but he was paralyzed and could only watch helplessly.

The dagger pierced into the skin before it was stopped by an invisible force.

Seconds later, the patterns on Westin’s face seemed to come to life, retreating from his face to his neck where they finally calmed down.

Westin’s face emerged, resembling Carson’s closely but with a more mature masculine visage, and the blackness in his eyes receded like a tide, leaving his pupils sparkling once again.

At the same time, Carson felt a release, and all the restrictions on him were lifted.

Carson blurted out, ”Dad?”

Westin’s eyes suddenly reddened, and he reached out to touch Carson’s face, his gaze full of excitement, yet he didn’t utter a word.

Quickly, Carson said, ”I followed the Heaven’s Prophecy jade you left behind, entered Nutwood Mountain a year ago, and now I’m Master Campbell’s direct disciple. I’ve seen Mom; she doesn’t believe you are dead. She still lives in your Cave Mansion refusing to leave with me, saying she will wait for you. The one I exchanged blows with a moment ago, making him spit blood, was my eldest senior brother, and the one covered in Sword Bones beside him is my third senior sister. They are very kind to me, just like family. Oh, Aunt Adelaide is here too, she hasn’t given up on you either and has taken great care of Mom...”

Unsure of what was to come, Carson was brief, mentioning himself and his mother, as well as Adelaide, even specifying the identities of Benson Bernard and Delaney Hunter, fearing that conflict might arise again soon. Should that happen, it would be an ultimate tragedy regardless of who hurt whom.

”Ten years ago, I didn’t know what you faced in Harmony Hollow, but I am so grateful you are still alive. The Heart of the Demon Emperor must have tried to turn you into someone else. We don’t care whether you become the next Demon Emperor; we just want you to be you.”

Carson nodded, his expression complex. He was about to say something when he suddenly sensed something and looked back into the distance.

He suddenly pulled out an immense stele, as dark as wrought iron, and handed it directly to Carson, ”Remember, tell no one!”

Carson’s eyes swept over the Stele, and his eyes abruptly widened, his heart pounding fiercely.

Although the inscription on the Stele was in ancient script and challenging to decipher, Carson recognized the characters at the very top right away.

Emperor’s Sutra Heaven Scroll.

Leading one to comprehend the Heavenly Dao and guiding one to Ascension, the long-lost Emperor’s Sutra Heaven Scroll!

Instinctively, Carson hurriedly stored the Stele in the Space Ring. At the same time, the black patterns on Westin’s neck seemed to come alive once again, instantly crawling up to his face, covering it completely and his eyes rapidly turning dark, sinister, and indifferent. The look he directed at his own son became extremely dangerous.

Carson was suddenly startled. Was it his father giving him the Emperor’s Sutra Heaven Scroll that angered the Heart of the Demon Emperor?

Westin clenched his fists and flew into the sky toward the distance, his scattered faint voice carried through the air.

”Take care... son!”

Westin’s figure vanished instantly, and soon after, a blue figure flickered, and Benson Bernard appeared in the sky. Seeing Carson standing combat-ready on the mountain, a relieved smile flashed across his face as he instantly appeared in front of Carson.

”Little junior brother, are you alright? Where is he?”

Coming to his senses from the shock, Carson replied, ”He has left.”

Benson Bernard swept his divine sense over Carson to ensure he wasn’t harmed or subjected to any sinister methods, he sighed in relief yet was puzzled, ”Why would he capture you but not harm you when the Demon Race clearly has the upper hand, hence not needing hostages?”

Carson candidly answered, ”That was my father, Westin, who had been missing in Harmony Hollow for ten years.”

Benson Bernard’s eyes suddenly widened in shock, ”He is... your father?”

Since the matter couldn’t be concealed forever, particularly from Benson Bernard, who was like an elder brother, Carson didn’t conceal it, ”Yes, I actually thought he was dead. Coming here was merely fulfilling a wish, but unexpectedly, he turned out to be the Demon Emperor Heir.”

Benson Bernard sighed, ”This is truly amazing. Have you recognized each other?”

Carson nodded, ”We have, but we barely spoke. I mentioned my situation with mom, and also that you and our sisters are my senior brothers and sister. His condition was very strange, the patterns on him seem to be controlling him to become another person, yet he retains his own sense, as if two wills are fighting each other...”

Benson Bernard explained, ”The Heart of the Demon Emperor embodies the will of the Demon Emperor. Since your father inherited the Heart of the Demon Emperor, it naturally tries to assimilate him. Simply put, the Heart of the Demon Emperor needs the body, not his soul. However, the Heart is just a heart, even though it contains the Demon Emperor’s will, it is parasitic. Your father is the true master of the body, making a complete assimilation not so easy, the most likely outcome is a fusion...”
