”I won’t need that.”

Adriel Frost looked grateful but decisively refused, ”Carson, I appreciate the gesture, but it’s better if you don’t get involved in this matter.”

Carson Flores blinked, ”What’s the matter, is it inappropriate for me to get involved in Frost Family affairs because I’m not a Frost?”

”Of course not, don’t overthink it.”

With a somewhat awkward smile, Adriel Frost said, ”Right now, you need to focus on dealing with Gunner Tate. Don’t get distracted by my trivial issues.”

”Adriel Frost makes sense, you should concentrate on Gunner Tate first,” Leah Frost said with a smile, effectively closing the topic before steering the conversation elsewhere.

Suddenly, Lillian Frost spoke, ”Cousin, remember that Layne Reid from the Reid Family who gave me flowers at school last time? He unexpectedly came to apologize a few days ago...”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Apologize for what?”

Lillian Frost’s eyes sparkled as she said, ”For that fight in the back alley before, even though it’s been a while. But I guess there must be trouble in the Reid Family, and with no confidence, he’s probably afraid you’ll come after him again, which is why he came to apologize once more.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”I’d almost forgotten about that.”

Lillian Frost laughed, ”You might forget, but he wouldn’t dare to, especially since I heard his grandfather died at your hand. He must be scared.”

After dinner, the uncle’s family left.

The elderly couple went to bed first, and Carson and Leah Frost were still playing online games in the living room.

”Auntie, what’s the situation with cousin’s matter? It seems there’s more to it,” Carson Flores inquired.

After hesitating for a moment, Leah Frost looked up at Carson and said, ”You should stay out of this.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Auntie, don’t treat me like an outsider, it seems like you’re distancing yourself.”

Leah Frost frowned, but eventually decided to divulge details to avoid Carson’s wild guesses.

”Messiah Frost has a high talent for cultivation and is quite capable. Objectively speaking, overall, he might even be a bit more outstanding than Adriel.”

”Speaking of blood relations, your maternal grandfather Maxwell Frost, and the two current Frost Family Patriarchs, Finn Frost and Amari Frost, are cousins. Your grandfather never broke through to Innate, fought fiercely in his early years, suffered grave injuries, which impacted his lifespan, and he nearly died before the age of a hundred. So, our branch is weaker with no one above us.”

”Messiah Frost’s father, Charlie Frost, and his grandfather, Kevin Frost, trace their lineage up to the Patriarch Finn Frost. Simply put, Messiah is the direct great-grandson of the strongest current Frost Family Patriarch Finn Frost, while Adriel is a cousin’s great-grandson. Naturally, there will be competing interests between the branches, and relationships are not too close. Thus, there is quite a difference between the direct great-grandson and a cousin’s great-grandson, both in terms of bloodline and affection.”

Carson Flores understood immediately, ”No wonder cousin said that there were many who supported Messiah. So, you mean to say the Frost Family Patriarch Finn Frost supports Messiah, right? And what about the other Patriarch, Amari Frost’s opinion?”

Leah Frost said with a smile, ”Finn Frost supports Messiah, and Amari Frost naturally leans more towards Messiah as well. They haven’t completely suppressed Adriel either. According to them, they want to groom Messiah to be the next Family Head and train Adriel to be one of Messiah’s key supporters.”

Thinking it over, Carson Flores smiled, ”If Messiah is indeed so outstanding, it seems the two Patriarchs’ approach isn’t necessarily wrong, right?”

Leah Frost nodded, ”Because of this, Adriel is feeling somewhat disheartened. Moreover, aside from the favor of the two Patriarchs, Messiah also has the support of the Hoffman Family in Xi Jing.”

”The Hoffman Family in Xi Jing?”

Carson Flores furrowed his brows, ”They’re also one of the Four Sects and Twelve Surnames?”

Leah Frost nodded again, her gaze a tad complex, ”The Four Sects and Twelve Surnames essentially encompass all the top Sect Families in Xi Jing. The Frost Family, Vasquez Family, and Reid Family could actually be considered on the lower end of strength within those twelve, given that each has only two Innate Grandmasters at their disposal. The Five Dragon Sect, on the other hand, has six Innate Grandmasters, and Gunner Tate’s Combat Power is exceptionally strong...”

Leah Frost sighed, ”Although everyone says ’Four Sects and Twelve Surnames’, there are distinct levels and a hierarchy among them. In terms of overall strength, the Five Dragon Sect could be ranked third, preceded only by the Sky Martial Sect and the Hoffman Family. The Sky Martial Sect has always been low-key and doesn’t show itself much; they have an air of being almost outside the mortal world. The Hoffman Family, in contrast, is domineering and is known as the first family in Xi Jing.”

Carson Flores asked, ”Why does the Hoffman Family support Messiah Frost?”

Leah Frost smiled, ”Messiah’s wife, Melody Hoffman, is from the Hoffman Family, and she’s also the granddaughter of one of their Innate Grandmasters, Hank Hoffman.”

Carson Flores suddenly understood, ”Well, then their support is normal. But considering Melody’s grandfather is Innate while Messiah’s great-grandfather is Innate, there seems to be a generational gap.”

Leah Frost laughed, ”That’s why the Hoffman Family is ranked as the number one family in Xi Jing. They have six generations under one roof, the first generation’s only surviving and most powerful Seth Hoffman is nearing 140 years old, but he’s a renowned Innate Great Master, said to rank within the top ten in Kyushu...”
