Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 649: Chapter 623: Qian Is Quietly Scheming Again

”I don’t have makeup OCD!” Ye Xiaoyu’s rebuttal became increasingly weak. She never really thought she was sick, but after Qian repeatedly emphasized it, she realized she might indeed be somewhat different from others.

”If someone wrongs me, I express it through my actions rather than bottling it up in my heart. I don’t see the world as having so many people I secretly hate, nor do I need to change myself for anyone to fit in. So I live comfortably. This lesson is a return for your exquisite culinary skills; go back and reflect on it yourself.”

Qian, in a good mood early in the morning, was willing to give a lesson to someone suffering from makeup OCD.

”Some people don’t secretly hate... Is there another way?” Qian’s words touched the deepest parts of Ye Xiaoyu’s heart.

”Of course, Ye Xiaoyu. You actually don’t have a good relationship with your parents, do you? I feel like you’re better with Weiwei than with your parents.” After her informal guidance on makeup OCD, Qian subtly shifted the topic back on track.

”I don’t want to talk.”

Qian shrugged; Ye Xiaoyu was very guarded against her. Using dialogue methods was not going to get the information she wanted. But Qian was never defeated by difficulties; she had ways to solve problems.

After dinner, Qian got up, played some music, and lit her essential oil burner.

Ye Xiaoyu originally wanted to clean up the table, but she was captivated by the soothing music.

”What piece is this? It’s quite nice; it should fit well in my show.”

”Let me tell you about my recent treatment plan, which includes music therapy. Music can treat many mental illnesses; if you don’t believe, close your eyes and listen. Lean on the sofa.”

Qian held a smile that hinted at leading a young girl astray, as if possessed by a charlatan.

Ye Xiaoyu, without suspicion, closed her eyes and leaned back on the sofa, breathing in the relaxing aroma of the unknown essential oil. Qian stood not far from her and began hypnotic guidance.

”Do you feel very relaxed?”

”Yes, quite nice.”

”Clear your mind; imagine you’re now in a lush green forest surrounded by the fragrance of grass...” Triggering imagination is the first step of hypnosis.

Ye Xiaoyu had never seen hypnosis and didn’t know Qian had the super bluffing ability to hypnotize her easily.

Feeling Ye Xiaoyu entering a semi-hypnotic state, relaxing completely, Qian started asking her.

”Tell me your true feelings about your parents, don’t hold back, speak your thoughts.”

”My mom is the type that’s shrewd and never wants to lose out. She always thinks she’s in control of everything, very stingy with money, and always believed I wasn’t pretty or perfect enough. My dad rarely came home when I was little, so mostly my mom raised me, but I feel she loves herself more. Her affection for me doesn’t outweigh her love for money.”

”What does your father do?”

”He’s now a manager at a private company. When I was young, he worked at a state-owned enterprise, always came home late from drinking and socializing. After the enterprise closed, he ventured into business, failed, and then worked for a private company.”

”How is Weiwei’s relationship with your parents?”

”Not good with my mom; she’s rather petty. She always wanted to send Weiwei to my uncle’s house, but my dad disagreed; they often fought over this. I think my dad really cares for Weiwei, often buying her clothes.”

”Does your father have violent tendencies?”

”No, my dad never hits anyone, but he does have some issues. He often fought with my mom over unclear entanglements with female subordinates when at the state enterprise. After he was laid off, my mom started making money, and their family dynamics reversed with my mom always scolding my dad.”

Under hypnosis, Ye Xiaoyu revealed things she’d never told anyone, including family scandals.

”Are you certain Weiwei has a good relationship with your father?”

”Their relationship is excellent. A few years ago, when the first KFC opened in the city, my dad took her there. At that time, I was still in college, working in a western restaurant. I saw my dad and Weiwei through the glass while serving others, feeling happy yet sad. I was sad my dad never smiled like that at home, but glad he treated Weiwei well.”

Qian silently noted this information.

”Your mother doesn’t like Weiwei, While father treats Weiwei better than you. Why do you have a different feeling for this little sister?” Qian asked.

”She was in my home from a very young age, always comforting me with her smile when I was upset. I admit I didn’t do well in some matters, but if I were a black quagmire, Weiwei is my only light. I believe if society hadn’t shaped me into what I am now, I’d be as innocent as Weiwei, just a little girl.”

Qian got all the information she wanted; she should have stopped, but seeing Ye Xiaoyu express her feelings for Weiwei in a semi-hypnotic state, she suddenly remembered a saying.

The hateful must have their pitiable side; because of Ye Xiaoyu’s pitiable side, Qian decided to ask one more.

”When did you start being obsessed with makeup?”

”During college while working part-time, even slightly better jobs had high appearance requirements. After failing interviews, I learned to apply makeup; gradually, I found I became another person when made up, more confident.”

If Ye Xiaoyu wasn’t hypnotized, she wouldn’t have said these things even if beaten, nor told anyone.

”From now on, your confidence won’t come from cosmetics, but from genuine compliments from others. Change a bit daily; when you wake, you’ll feel fuzzy about our conversation content.”

Qian snapped her fingers, waking Ye Xiaoyu from a semi-hypnotic state.

”What just happened?” Ye Xiaoyu only felt dizzy, remembering chatting with Qian but not recalling specifics.

”Too tired, fell asleep.” Qian smiled warmly, not at all the look of someone who had just tricked another.

Ready to send Ye Xiaoyu off, she heard the helpless voice of Liumei from outside the door.

”Sis-in-law, open the door!”

Qian quickly opened the door, Liumei carrying Weiwei inside.

”What happened to my sister?” Ye Xiaoyu rushed over and took the pale Weiwei.

Several people helped Weiwei onto the sofa.

”I don’t know, I was taking her for a walk, kept going and ended up in an alley where a new fried chicken shop opened, I offered her ice cream and fries, but she started behaving oddly as soon as the food arrived. Not wanting to eat, I brought her back, but she unexpectedly moved so slowly she almost got hit by a car...”

Liumei still relives that moment with lingering fear. If she hadn’t reacted quickly, she still couldn’t understand how Weiwei couldn’t dodge such a slow-moving car, as if she couldn’t hear her.

”Fries? Ice cream?” Qian understood.
