Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 636: Chapter 610: Acquaintances and Quacks

”She’ll be fine. We all care about her like this, she’ll be fine.” The man comforts the woman with fake sincerity.

Chen Xiaoqian clearly heard a hmph coming from her teacher beside her.

That hmph basically revealed the proud and disdainful heart of an intellectual. Chen Xiaoqian could even imagine the teacher mentally raising a middle finger and spitting out, ”hmph.”

This old lady can be quite adorable sometimes.

”Hello, has the young girl been out of danger now?” Mr. Liu walked over to them and asked.

”Who are you—?”

”I am a psychology mentor from BJ Normal University. My name is Liu Linlin. This is psychologist Chen Xiaoqian, also my student.”

Chen Xiaoqian’s title as a psychologist became quite fitting after she obtained her certification. Hearing her teacher introduce her this way, Chen Xiaoqian guessed that the teacher might want her to treat Weiwei.

”Do I know you?” Mr. Ye asked in confusion.

”It was me who called you. I’m a radio host; Weiwei called me. We are very concerned about her condition.” Chen Xiaoqian said.

”Is that so, Weiwei is currently in emergency rescue, we—” Mr. Ye’s words were quickly intercepted by the middle-aged woman beside him.

”You can’t use my daughter to boost your ratings! Interviews with us require payment! Don’t think you can fool us; my daughter also works at a radio station!”

Mr. Liu found it absurd.

”I think you misunderstood. We are not here to interview you. Both my student and I are psychologists. Based on our preliminary diagnosis, Weiwei might be suffering from depression. We want to see this child, to see if we can help in some way. Though a mental hospital can also admit her, this child has special feelings for my student, which might serve as a breakthrough for better understanding her inner world.”

Recognition of depression isn’t quite widespread in this era. Last year, a famous artist jumped off a building, and only then did people realize there’s such a condition that can lead to such actions. But most people feel depression is far removed from themselves.

Many only know the term depression but don’t understand it, believing that being a bit stronger and more open-minded would prevent suicidal tendencies, which is incorrect.

Upon hearing Mr. Liu mention these three words, the middle-aged man froze.

The middle-aged woman reacted quickly, immediately putting on a mean and sarcastic expression.

”Oh ~ no wonder, so they came sniffing for money. Out, out, we won’t be treated, we won’t find you even for treatment!” Turning to her man, she said, ”This is a bunch of quacks from the streets, like a pyramid scheme, coming to peddle and fool money out of people. What mentor, lecturers in direct selling are all called mentors!”

Ah, my goodness! Mr. Liu’s heart was collapsing.

She had been practicing medicine for years in an area relatively unexplored domestically. She was always sought out with people scrambling to make connections to find her. Wherever she went, people respectfully referred to her as Mr. Liu. This was the first time she had been called a quack and equated with scam artists.

For Mr. Liu, this was simply a disgrace.

”You’ve misunderstood us. We don’t take money; we just want to see this child.” Mr. Liu tried to explain.

The woman immediately put on a knowing-all expression, disdainfully looking at Mr. Liu and Chen Xiaoqian.

”The consultation is free, but you’ll make her take medication, right? Medication isn’t free, is it? You just want to make money! Going crazy for money, this whole set has been used in pyramid schemes, you guys are outdated!”

Mr. Liu was really stifled with anger, good temperament could easily be exhausted.

”Depression requires medication, but we don’t prescribe it; it’s prescribed by the psychiatrist, and the money doesn’t go to us!”

Meeting such patient relatives, it’s really impossible to speak logically.

”Old tricks, you’re in cahoots with the psychiatry department, we buy medication and you get a commission! I’m telling you, I work in medical equipment sales, I’m very clear about hospital matters!”

”If it’s just moderate depression, medication treatment is only a few dozen yuan a day, what commission can we get!” Mr. Liu’s liver fire couldn’t be suppressed.

”Hehe, then it’s just that you want us to have examinations, doing all sorts of exams from head to toe, several thousand yuan goes in, I’m telling you, you won’t gain a cent from me!”

Seeing Mr. Liu about to become furious, Chen Xiaoqian tugged at her teacher, signaling her not to get angry.

”Can we just take a look at this child? I’m Meiwei; this child is my listener.”

”Are you trying to put our little Weiwei’s story on the radio? I’m telling you, your tricks can’t fool my sharp eyes. Want to use our little Weiwei? You’ll pay up, won’t you? Doesn’t the radio station have fee for leads? My daughter works at a radio station, we know all about this!”

Mr. Liu looked at this woman, dressed in branded clothes, seemingly respectable and eloquent, but why did she only talk about money?

Upon hearing that she works in medical equipment sales, it became clearer where this zeal for money came from.

If it weren’t for her concern for the patient inside, she’d really want to give her two slaps; does a human life weigh less than a lead fee in her eyes?

In a critical moment, it was Chen Xiaoqian who was effective; she blinked at Mr. Liu, ”Teacher, you know Mr. Wang from Shilong Mountain Mental Hospital, right? Isn’t he planning to procure medical equipment soon? How about this: you let us see Weiwei, and I’ll introduce you to him. Here, take a look at my work ID, I’m not lying.”

Mr. Liu was taken aback; since when does old Wang plan to buy equipment?

Chen Xiaoqian tugged at her sleeve, Mr. Liu quickly nodded, ”Yes, there is such a matter.”

Upon hearing this, the woman immediately changed her tone, quickly pulling out a name card box from her pocket.

”Look at the situation; I’m just too eager to get the child treated. Here’s my name card; I am Lv Zhi, regional agent for Kensini International Brand Medical Equipment. I’ve visited Mr. Wang several times, but he hasn’t seen me. Do you know him well?”

The skill of a salesperson talking differently to different people is truly brought to its utmost by her.

”Know him? How can we not know? Mr. Wang previously came to my teacher’s home for academic exchange and even snatched several ribs from me. Isn’t his temper particularly bad, with a loud voice, and is there a mole here?” Chen Xiaoqian gestured to the corner of her mouth.

Lv Zhi immediately bloomed into a smile, as if she saw her big order floating over.

”At a time like this, why talk about these things!” Mr. Ye impatiently interrupted. The person is still inside in emergency rescue, their behavior made him very annoyed.

Chen Xiaoqian pulled Lv Zhi over, signaled Mr. Liu, who then began discussing depression-related information with Mr. Ye alone. She listed several symptoms, Mr. Ye nodded repeatedly, saying yes, the child has been like that during this period.

Meanwhile, Chen Xiaoqian leisurely engaged the slick lady in conversation, going from random topics to more, never once mentioning when she’d help her make connections.

The slick female salesperson found herself utterly directionless, as Chen Xiaoqian comfortably led the rhythm, easy for a psychologist to influence others, even top-level salespeople aren’t difficult.

While Mr. Ye was discussing the child’s condition with Mr. Liu, someone came running from the end of the corridor.

Disheveled hair, frantic state.

”Mom! How is the little sister?”

Chen Xiaoqian immediately recognized her.
