Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 618: Chapter 592: Turning Point and Fatigue

If Mingming were to bite, it would definitely take a chunk of flesh.

Biting off a nose or losing an ear isn’t something that hasn’t happened before.

By the time people come in, Qian will end up being someone without a nose or ear.

Qian, who values her appearance, wouldn’t let that happen. Just as he lunged, Qian quickly pulled out her spray from her pocket and sprayed it on his face.

”Ah!” A scream filled with anguish!

People rushed in to separate this crazed man from Qian. The personality of Mingming that was awakened—oh, now he should be called Zhihu! He covered his eyes, unable to open them due to the pain, yet his body did not stop struggling. His strength was incredibly inhuman; two people couldn’t pin him down, and one even got bitten.

”You vile woman! I will scratch your face off, I’ll kill you!” Zhihu shouted madly, intimidating the people holding him down. Zhihu’s current state looked beyond human.

From expression to strength, it was akin to the old tale of being possessed, with a twisted expression and frightening strength.

”If you kill me, your brother will die too. I’m the one who can prove you’re sick, don’t you care about your brother?”

Sure enough, upon hearing his brother’s name, Zhihu quieted down considerably.

However, soon he glared at Qian with hostility, ”I am not sick! It’s you who are sick, it’s this world that’s sick! You bully my brother; it’s you, with such good-looking faces but doing things only animals would do. You look down on my brother and disdain him. Since you have no shame, don’t blame me for scratching your faces off, hahahaha!”

He let out a sharp and piercing laugh.

Previously, Qian had explained the difference between patients with psychological disorders and psychiatric disorders to everyone; the former knows they are ill but cannot control their behavior, while the latter does not even think they are ill and radically believe that those differing from them are the real madmen.

Fugui came in with his colleagues; everyone was thrilled, and the head of the research institute gave Qian a thumbs-up.

”Young lady, you are awesome!”

The problem that had troubled everyone for so long was solved in her hands!

Qian smiled weakly; she truly didn’t want such ”awesomeness”.

”Director, you can proceed with the identification process. Wang Mingming’s second personality is called Wang Zhihu. He fantasizes himself to be his deceased elder brother; the Zhihu personality is prone to violence and is extremist in nature. As for whether there are other personalities, you can continue to examine. But I analyze there’s an 80% probability that this case was done by the Zhihu personality.”

Who could have thought that the journey to the mountains with Xiaoqiang for a marriage proposal could unravel such a sensational case? The world is indeed unpredictable.

Qian successfully forced out Wang Mingming’s second personality. It’s not that she is more formidable than these authorities; their expertise differs. Fugui and his colleagues are all experts in this field. Qian only had the advantage of having been to the agritainment and dealt with Mingming herself, coupled with her confident and badass professional capabilities, which led to her accomplishing what others couldn’t.

She withdrew silently to the window in the corridor, opened the window, and looked at the sky outside, without any joy.

Using such means to force out Mingming’s second personality was not something she liked very much, but it was the only way.

Everyone only saw her professional side, but did not see her confusion after dealing with such cases.

God damn it, craving alcohol again...

”What are you thinking?” Liao Fugui walked over, handed a can of drink to Qian.

Qian took it but didn’t open it.

”I was thinking about the agony of Tantalus.”

”What?” Liao Fugui knew what Qian meant.

Tantalus was the son of Zeus, the main god in Greek Mythology, who was punished and endured eternal torment in hell for his mistakes. Later, psychologists liked to use Tantalus’s agony as a metaphor for those who see the target but can never reach it.

Many of modern people’s psychological issues stem from this.

”Why did you think of that? Have you got any pain?”

”Nothing, I just don’t know how to face Wang Mingming’s family. My partner and I seemed to have shattered the simplest aspiration of that family.”

If she and Xiaoqiang hadn’t gone to the agritainment, Xiaoqiang wouldn’t have found evidence of Wang Mingming through a towel, nor would she have used the method just now to awaken Mingming’s second personality.

She doesn’t know what expression should she have when facing that simple family, facing that agritainment aunt who used to sit on the kang and talk to her.

The uncle and aunt never gave up their aspirations and efforts for the future, but fate continued to torment them. After the death of the eldest son Wang Zhihu, the family’s hope was on Wang Mingming, and yet this Wang Mingming turned out to be mentally ill, just wanting the family’s wish to better themselves through personal efforts, unexpectedly became Tantalus’s agony—a clearly visible hope that can never be reached.

As the person who exposed all this, Qian at this moment felt not an ounce of accomplishment.

From a professional standpoint, finding the solution to the problem and giving an account to the victim is something worth celebrating.

But because the people involved in the case are known to her, these subtle emotions brought a sense of inexpressible depression in her heart, only wanting to find a place to drink alone.

”Don’t think too much; this is not only our work but also our responsibility to society. Early detection of such dangerous individuals, controlling their conditions, is also to prevent more tragedies from happening. But Qian’er, how did you know the method to force out Wang Zhihu?”

”When Yu Minglang and I were on vacation, we encountered him, saw how he was bullied by his fellow villagers. At that time, his pet snake was killed by someone, and he was emotionally erratic. I wondered why someone with low self-esteem would suddenly burst out with such heightened hatred levels. Perhaps Mingming was already on the verge of bringing out the second personality at that time.”

”Recently, Hong Kong films have been popular, with similar cases occurring. I didn’t expect such a case to happen in our inland.” Although Liao Fugui had seen cases of split personality in the mental hospital, witnessing such destructive tendencies and distorted psychology from a split personality was a first.

”Long-term bullying, a high-expectation father contrasted with his low self-esteem personality, and a family history of hereditary mental illness. Such outcomes aren’t really surprising. Actually, people with a family history of hereditary mental illness aren’t suitable for marriage; some things were wrong from the beginning.”

The two casually chatted a few more sentences, and just as Qian was about to leave, the previously troublesome big boss approached with a cheerful smile.

He extended a friendly hand to Qian, ”Ah, Comrade Chen, and Mr. Liao, you both have been a great help today!”

The attitude drastically switched 180 degrees; Liao Fugui got goosebumps all over.
