Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 604: Chapter 578: The Bodyguard and the Annoyance

”Yeah, my grandpa and Lang’s grandpa are real brothers. My brother told me bad people are targeting my future sister-in-law, so he let me come over as a bodyguard.”

”...When did you arrive?” Qian now had some idea; this girl was someone Yu Minglang had sent over to protect her.

This matter, he hadn’t even informed her in advance.

”I came at five in the afternoon.”

”You’ve been going around since five till midnight?!” Someone as calm as Qian was also shaken out of her calmness.

This girl must be extremely bad with directions, circling for hours without finding the place, just going around and around, why didn’t she call?

”Actually, I first came here to have dinner. I followed the smell to a restaurant, and after I finished eating, it was dark. The roads look different at day and night, so I went back and forth looking. In the end, my sense of direction is bad, I couldn’t find the place, wanted to call but my phone was out of battery, and I don’t know my cousin’s number... future cousin sister-in-law’s number is also stored in the phone.”

Qian was simply too impressed with the girl; circling around her doorstep for hours, that’s some serious lack of sense of direction.

”Then why didn’t you ask someone for directions?”

”I did ask! At first, I asked an old man playing chess under the streetlight, I asked him how to get to this place. He pointed me in a direction, and I looked around but couldn’t find it, went back to that streetlight, saw the old man again, asked him again, he pointed again, I looked around again, and still saw him again!”

Yu Liumei couldn’t understand why she always returned to the same spot despite circling for so long.

”And then?”

”Then that old man was really nice, seeing I really couldn’t find the place, he stood up to lead me there. He saw me carrying a big bag, tried to help me with it. How could I let an old man carry it, it’s heavy! He asked what was in it, so I told him, and then he just walked away without looking back.”

”What exactly do you have in your bag?”

”Nunchucks, Luoyang shovel, big bag.”

”Pfft!”

Qian couldn’t hold back a laugh.

She could totally understand the old man’s feelings.

A strange girl circling around, carrying what seems like a complete set of tools for killing and disposing of bodies, who wouldn’t run!

”What’s so funny, I’m from a martial arts school, these are for my training, I carry them everywhere.”

She had kicked through several sandbags, so to save money, she carries special burlap bags to make her own sandbags wherever she goes, saving money and building leg strength.

Qian looked at her, goofy yet adorable, and for the first time wasn’t angry with Minglang for making decisions on her behalf.

”Come on, I’ll take you there.”

”Wow! You’re so nice! Here, have some skewers!” She handed a skewer to Qian, who took a bite.

”It’s a bit overcooked; I’ll take you next time to a better place, they barbecue better, and their grilled fish is amazing too.”

”Do you like braised pork?”

”If it’s cooked well, I like it. My fiancé makes it well, I’ll let you try it someday.”

A foodie won over.

She obediently got in Qian’s car and followed her home.

”Are you always like this?”

Qian asked casually as she led her into the elevator.

”Like what?”

”You go with someone just for a bite? Aren’t you afraid I’m a bad person?”

”Funny you mention that, I did meet a weird uncle before. He said he’d treat me to something good but ended up taking me to a scary place intending to do something wrong.”

”And?”

”I beat him up, stripped his pants, and tied him to a tree, then wrote ’I’m a bad man’ on his body with a ballpoint pen. Who dares mess with me without knowing I’m a four-time national women’s sanda champion!”

No wonder Xiaoqiang had her come over.

Qian understood now.

Yu Minglang wasn’t comfortable with her commuting alone, so he found a relative to help out.

”I have a knack for recognizing people. Women who straightforwardly say they love braised pork, especially pretty ones like you, are usually sincere folks. Just for that, I knew you weren’t a bad person.”

”Yeah, you’ve got insight. I am indeed a straightforward person.”

Qian led her out of the elevator, ”Here we are.”

Yu Liumei looked at the note, grinning ear to ear, finally at the place.

Qian took out her keys to open the door, and she watched, eyes wide with surprise.

”Wow, you—”

”Change the way you call me, I am your cousin’s fiancée, you can call me Sister Qian for now, later you can call me cousin sister-in-law.” Qian gestured invitingly.

Receiving a call from Xiaoqiang happened ten minutes later.

Qian had just finished her bath and came out to find her new roommate/bodyguard bringing freshly cooked wontons to the table. Lang had told her beforehand, several points to note while living here, the top being not to let the future cousin sister-in-law cook, so when Qian suggested the bizarre idea of using a microwave to cook wontons, Yu Liumei immediately volunteered to cook.

”Are you home?” Yu Minglang’s voice came through the phone.

”Yeah, just got here.”

”Did you meet the little partner I found for you? I couldn’t reach her phone.”

”Yes.”

Qian’s tone made Yu Minglang immediately aware of her displeasure, he quickly lowered his voice to ask.

”Qianbao, are you unhappy with my decision? I didn’t mean to not tell you, just as I was about to call you, Mr. Liu threatened me, said if I dared to boast in front of him again, he’d deal with me. I just got the time to report to you.”

Yu Minglang knew Qian was a particularly individualistic person, besides her two roommates, she didn’t like others invading her space. But this time it was sudden, he was worried about Qian’s safety, and among his relatives, Yu Liumei was the most suitable to accompany Qian.

That girl was naturally strong, later sent to a martial arts school by her family, dealing with two or three adult men was a piece of cake for her.

But not informing Qianbao, she must be mad, right?

”Yu Minglang!”

”Here! I’m wrong, I shouldn’t have not told you, I shouldn’t have—”

”Who said anything about that? I’m asking why did you tell Liumei I’m a kitchen idiot?”

Qian had always been aggrieved about her lack of cooking skills.

Always trying to hide it from others.

It’s like the mentality of people with dark skin wanting to find some powder to make themselves look fairer.

When she proposed cooking wontons as a late-night snack, Yu Liumei immediately told her she’d do it. Qian, feeling awkward about letting a guest do this, just as she was about to be polite, this girl said her brother mentioned that Qian was a once-in-a-century kitchen idiot and to avoid life-threatening situations, she should stay away from the kitchen.

Qian was very annoyed by this, and Minglang dared to just send someone, saying she’s a kitchen idiot, that’s too much!

”This isn’t even a thing, I thought you wouldn’t like Liumei. That girl can eat, but she’s quite nice, I figured my wife and she would get along well, Qianbao, you should go out with Liumei these days, don’t act alone—.”

”Don’t change the subject! Tell me! How am I an idiot, still a once-in-a-century idiot?”

She already made great progress, able to operate a microwave to cook instant noodles, and wontons!
