Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 568: Chapter 542: Old Friends and Playing Ball

”Has it been diagnosed? Is it really Borderline Personality Disorder?” Qian furrowed her brow.

”Yes, it was diagnosed abroad. He has work in the country and can’t easily come here. Can you take it? The price is negotiable.”

When Teng Shuixian says the price is negotiable, it means charging by the hour, based on Big Four Small Five pricing.

Qian’s consultation fees are explained using terms from the antique jade industry. Big Four is four digits, ranging from 7,000 to 9,999; Small Five is five digits, from 10,000 to 30,000; anything below Small Three is considered a charitable consultation, priced in three digits as a courtesy.

Generally speaking, Qian likes taking on these ”fat sheep” cases, but hearing the name of this disorder made her hesitate.

Usually, she’d take it, but with Xiaoqiang coming over, she might not have the time. This disorder is extremely difficult to treat, requiring long consultation sessions, and the results aren’t particularly effective.

”Alright, I’ll get back to you later.” Qian glanced at Yu Minglang, not committing too firmly.

”Then I’ll have them wait. Qian’er, I see you hesitating for the first time. Is this disorder complicated?” Shuixian wasn’t sure what kind of psychological issue this was, only knowing that if it required treatment abroad, it must not be simple.

”Let me put it this way—if us psychologists could choose our patients, none of us would want to treat this. Borderline Personality Disorder is also known as the Therapist’s Nightmare.”

”That bad?!” Teng Shuixian was surprised.

Even Yu Minglang glanced at Qian involuntarily. A nightmare? It sounded quite scary.

”Yeah, so I need to consider whether to take it or not.”

”Alright, got it. By the way, Qian’er, do you want me to bring anything back for you?”

Qian glanced at Yu Minglang’s clothing and spoke to Shuixian.

”Is there a fall-winter fashion show coming up?”

”VERSACE’s fall-winter show is happening; I’m planning to check it out.”

”The usual, take photos of the catalog and email them to me.”

Qian hung up the call. Yu Minglang hugged her waist and said, ”You women, buying winter clothes in summer and summer clothes in winter, yet can’t wear them when bought, just hanging them in the closet to look at—what’s up with that?”

”Big brand fashion shows are always off-season. If you want to buy new models, you have to act now.”

The outfit he’s wearing now she picked him for him to try on last spring. She had taken over Yu Minglang’s wardrobe; when changing seasons, she’d also pick clothes for him.

”Don’t buy me any; I have enough clothes to wear.” Yu Minglang is the kind of guy who buys multiple items in one style and rotates them.

Since getting engaged to Qian, his wardrobe became colorful. He didn’t have high requirements for dressing—having clothes to wear is enough.

But Qian is a very meticulous woman. She needs to be precise herself, and her man needs to be neatly dressed, shiny and stylish. She pretends not to hear him say not to buy clothes.

Anyway, once bought she hangs them in his closet, and this lazy guy will wear them himself.

”Mei, what was that about a nightmare you mentioned earlier?”

”Do you feel accomplished eavesdropping on phone conversations? And eavesdropping on girls’ conversations, Mr. Yu, your face is truly getting thicker.”

”I’m just curious; I know you need to keep patient information confidential. I’m just puzzled by what kind of disorder makes my precious girl struggle. I remember you mentioning this disorder name when chatting with Wang Yafei.”

Yu Minglang has an excellent memory; hearing something once, he can remember it.

”It’s not that I’m struggling or that it can’t be treated, but this disorder is different from other psychological disorders. Its complexity and difficulty exceed what can be imagined. That’s why it got the nickname ’Therapist’s Nightmare.’ You know our field requires many years to truly master, and fresh graduates are discouraged from taking cases like this.”

”Why?”

”Because it completely destroys a doctor’s dignity, making inexperienced, young therapists question their abilities. Many end up switching careers due to this disorder.”

”That bad?”

”Yes, indeed. But whatever you do, don’t say in front of my teacher that I call it the therapist’s nightmare. Teachers hate evaluating illnesses this way.”

”I’m not a gossip like Wang Yafei. Why waste time chattering about this? Let’s go, Qian, eat up quick and head home; your brother has important things to do!”

Qian really wanted to laugh at him in disbelief, and pull Wang Yafei out to show him how shameless the man they idolize at home can be.

After midnight snack, Qian drove Yu Minglang home. Passing by a 24-hour supermarket, Qian parked, knowing immediately what she’d do.

Sure enough, Qian went straight to the fruit section, aiming directly at the watermelon...

”Mei, do you have classes tomorrow?”

”Nope.”

”How about playing tennis?”

”No way.” She didn’t want to go and torture herself.

”Come on, I recently really wanted to play ball.”

’You weren’t satisfied playing with the two balls on me tonight?’ she raged internally, never saying such embarrassing things out loud.

”Why suddenly think of playing tennis? It’s so hot, you could go soak in the sea.”

”I dreamt last night about playing ball with a high school classmate, made me realize it’s been a while since I played. Let’s go, Mei?” he pleaded.

Qian surveyed the fruit section, lazily chatting while targeting the last watermelon.

”That smart classmate named Xiaoyu who, like you, had the privilege to skip class?”

Yu Minglang was shameless in high school, using his good grades as an excuse to skip evening prep classes and play on the courts. Qian heard him mention a classmate who did well and joined him skipping classes to play ball.

”Yeah, it’s Xiaoyu. It’s been so many years, not sure why I suddenly dreamt of high school days last night.”

Ah, high school days were so wonderful. Yu Minglang wanted to relive his tattooed youth with his beloved, Mei.

Qian reached for the watermelon, and another hand extended towards it. She looked up, locking eyes with the person rivaling her for the watermelon.

”Ye?”

”Meiwei?”

The woman fighting for the melon was in pajamas and slippers, appearing to live nearby. Her hair was meticulously styled, makeup finely applied, even with false lashes.

Yu Minglang originally wanted to see who dared to steal his future wife’s watermelon but raised his head, stunned at the familiar yet estranged face for a few seconds. Suddenly, he widened his eyes, pointing at the woman coveting the watermelon.

”Ye Xiaoyu!”

The woman shifted her gaze to him, lighting up with joy.

”Yu Minglang!”
