Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 566: Chapter 540: Reminiscing and Drinking

Why did Qian suddenly become reserved?

Because in this sizable barbecue restaurant, aside from her and Yu Minglang, there was another table of acquaintances.

”Mr. Chen!” Hu Meijing saw Qian and waved happily.

”Vice-president!” Wang Yafei stood up as well.

This table not only had Hu Meijing and her husband Chu Xuan but also Wang Yafei.

Wang Yafei was friends with Chu Xuan, and it was Chu Xuan who recommended him to Qian back then.

These were all old friends; Qian had treated all three.

After a period of psychological treatment, Wang Yafei fully recovered and got an opportunity to take an additional test to join Minglang’s company a year and a half ago. He became another outstanding talent capable of handling important tasks, just like Qiao Zhen before him.

Initially, Wang Yafei disliked Qian because she reported his issues, which led him to miss the chance to join the Yu Family. But later, they reconciled, and he chose Qian as his psychologist. Unexpectedly, when he recovered, Yu Minglang sent him a separate interview notice.

That was an assessment with him alone.

After entering the company, Wang Yafei once approached Yu Minglang and asked if Mr. Chen put in a good word for him, which led to the exception. Yu Minglang said it was half and half.

Yu Minglang saw potential in this young man, and Qian vouched for Wang Yafei, assuring that his work wouldn’t be delayed due to psychological problems.

But what made Xiaoqiang send the special interview notice was still Wang Yafei’s own efforts and qualities. After experiencing the setback of rejection, he could rise and cooperate with the treatment while ensuring a normal life, proving he had a good mindset to be an excellent HR manager.

Afterward, Wang Yafei was very grateful, thanking Qian profusely. Qian just gave him a few words: Thunder and rain are all heaven’s grace.

Value every setback, for properly handled setbacks can become valuable assets.

Wang Yafei also felt differently about Minglang and Qian, which reflected in his hard work and turned him into a strong fighter for Minglang.

Hu Meijing and her husband were even more grateful to Qian. Although Hu Meijing didn’t remember the incident where Qian helped her awaken her personality, her husband Chu Xuan remembered it very clearly. After the child in Hu Meijing’s belly was born, they solemnly invited Qian to witness the miracle of life.

Seeing Qian and Yu Minglang, everyone at the table was happy.

”You little rascal, why aren’t you asleep yet?” Qian walked over and immediately saw the chubby boy in Hu Meijing’s arms.

”Don’t mention it, this little rascal is too energetic. He doesn’t sleep at night and keeps us restless. It just so happened that his dad ran into Yafei after his night shift, so we came out together for a meal.” Hu Meijing handed the little chubby boy to Qian.

The child giggled as soon as he got into Qian’s arms. The not-yet-two-year-old was chubby. His parents lavished all their love on him, as reflected in his sturdy little body. He was a child born into a happy family.

”Mr. Chen, I noticed Xiaoshuang especially likes you. He always smiles so happily when he gets into your arms.” Hu Meijing noticed her son was always elated upon seeing Qian and even tried to pat Qian with his little hands.

”I guess he and I have a special connection.” Qian smiled and hugged the chubby boy.

This child’s official name was Chu Shuang, and his nickname was Lang Lang.

When the child was born, Chu Xuan asked Hu Meijing what the child should be named, and she unhesitatingly said, his official name will be Chu Shuang and his nickname Lang Lang.

It almost scared Mr Liu to death, thinking she remembered something.

But she didn’t. Most of the time, Hu Meijing was gentle with occasional bursts of minor irritability, blended well, with no recollection of past events.

Qian and Mr Liu had also studied this name with special meaning, concluding that, subconsciously, Hu Meijing and Lone Wolf were already one person, and this child was also a unique continuation of Lone Wolf.

”My son loves to smile. He smiles at everyone.” Chu Xuan also greatly cherished this hard-won child, more grateful to Qian for lending a helping hand in their family’s darkest times.

”Vice-president, come have some with us. I wanted to invite you the moment I got off the plane today. You said you were busy, turns out you were busy with Mr. Chen!” Wang Yafei warmly invited.

Qian’s face flushed, feeling like everyone knew why Yu Minglang ran to her.

”Mr. Chen, would you like some beer?” Hu Meijing asked Qian.

Qian smiled very gently, ”Thank you, but I don’t drink.”

Yu Minglang heard this and mentally sneered, sure, keep pretending, just keep pretending in front of outsiders!

”If Mr. Chen isn’t drinking, then the Vice-president should have some. Mr. Chen, rest assured, I won’t get him drunk, so it won’t affect him ’reporting’ to you later tonight, paying a contribution to the public grain won’t be affected at all!”

”Why are you talking so much? Are you looking for overtime when you get back?” Yu Minglang was particularly authoritative in front of his employees.

”What’s overtime?” Hu Meijing asked curiously.

”Overtime means more work.” Whoever makes mistakes has to enjoy overtime service.

”Is this how you manage people?” Qian asked Yu Minglang.

She had heard Shi Touyu complain, saying Yu Minglang was like a madman at work, overworking people to the bone. Her poor buddy Qiao Zhen was always exhausted.

”They’re exaggerating.” Yu Minglang would never admit it, trying to act like a gentle husky in front of his fiancee, though his employees weren’t giving him face.

”They’re not exaggerating at all. We live just like this daily, only worse, not better. Mr. Chen, you don’t know how formidable he is. We privately suspect the vice-president might be—”

Wang Yafei sensed the murderous aura, cleverly blocking his face with a menu, cutting off Yu Minglang’s fierce gaze.

He’s done for; he’s likely to get overtime when they return. Judging by Vice-president’s look, it seems he could go from A meals all the way to G meals!

”What is it?” Qian was enjoying the tale when she noticed Wang Yafei stop and pressed him for more.

”I said it, and the vice-president would fix me when we get back.”

Qian smiled and asked Yu Minglang, ”Are you the kind of despicable person who uses public office for personal vendettas?”

I am! Yu Minglang roared internally, but he absolutely denied it with his mouth.

”Of course not! I assure you there’s no corporal punishment when we return.” At most, I’ll cook up two new meal plans for him, damn it!

Tattling to his fiancée like that?

These ungrateful little brats don’t even consider how I shared my experience in pursuing a wife when not working?

It was genuinely an unreserved teaching, now and then, under Yu Minglang’s repeated requests, Qian even wrote him small love letters. The liberal arts expert’s letters were subtle, not explicit, but full of lingering sentiment and excellent literary style. Occasionally in a good mood, Yu Minglang would allow everyone to read them, enhancing their literary taste. The main purpose was still to show off; this had become a unique scenery among the executives.

Wang Yafei mused that Yu Minglang’s teachings were practically toxic, as not many colleagues at the units succeeded in pursuing girls using his methods. Now he’s seized a chance for ’revenge,’ how could he let it slip by?
