Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 562: Chapter 536: Playing Ghost and Dreaming

It’s still that familiar scene, only faint light in the darkness.

Qian feels something is chasing her.

Her consciousness tells her to stop and see what’s chasing her, but her body’s instinct keeps her running forward, reaching a cliff where there’s no way to run. She wants to turn but can’t move.

At that moment, the cliff under her feet begins to crumble, and she falls into an abyss!

Qian opens her eyes, breathing heavily.

It’s this dream again.

She has been having dreams for many days, where something is chasing her and she falls off a cliff.

Although she knows it’s a dream, her heart still feels a bit flustered upon waking.

Maybe the feeling of falling in the dream is too real, and even when awake, her heart doesn’t settle, and Qian wants to turn on the bedside lamp, but is startled by a face that suddenly appears at the bedside.

Seeing it’s Shi Tou, Qian angrily picks up a pillow and throws it at her.

”What’s wrong with you! Sitting by the bed in the middle of the night pretending to be a ghost, is that funny?!”

Especially with that look like a farewell to the deceased, it’s too creepy!

Shi Tou, hugging her small quilt, looks at Qian with grievances.

”Qian, I can’t sleep, I feel uneasy. Da Yi is teasing me. She sleeps soundly, laughing in her dreams, always saying second brother, no, no, I can only come to you.”

”You troublesome girl, come on up!” Qian makes room for her, Shi Touyu lies side by side with Qian.

”Qian, do you think Da Yi is longing for spring? Second brother went to attend the aviation exhibition for only a week, and she laughs in her sleep every night. Normally, she’s quite stable, but how come she’s like this when asleep?”

Qian’s house is a two-bedroom apartment, Qian has one room to herself, and the other bedroom is for Shi Tou and Da Yi.

Da Yi is usually quiet, but talks in her sleep easily. The worst thing Qian and Shi Tou have done is asking her in her sleep using professional hypnosis techniques about how often she sees second brother and in how many styles.

The final conclusion: the Yu Family brothers are not human, not human!

”Dreams reflect some subconscious needs to some extent, some dreams vent suppressed or painful things. Da Yi misses second brother, maybe she is dreaming of beautiful times.”

While explaining to Shi Touyu, Qian herself is bewildered.

If Da Yi laughs in her dreams, then why is she constantly dreaming of being chased and falling from a height?

From a psychological perspective, she should be afraid of something, and this fear hasn’t been well released, the thing chasing her should be what she’s afraid of.

But what is she afraid of?

This question is something Qian has thought about repeatedly but can’t figure out.

Her life has been steadily moving according to her own rhythm, her studies are smooth, her family is doing well, her lover treats her very well—

Wait, could it be because Xiaoqiang has been missing for several days, that she’s behaving so unusually?

Qian counts the number of days since she last contacted Yu Minglang, while Shi Touyu lies beside her, talking to the ceiling.

”My brother hasn’t contacted me for almost 10 days either, I wonder how he’s doing now. Actually, I’m telling you secretly, I don’t really understand men’s careers or glory, I just hope he can always be with me, work doesn’t really matter.”

Shi Touyu’s boyfriend Qiao Zhen is with Yu Minglang, and apparently they’ve been busy these days.

”Same here.” Qian responds to Shi Tou, erasing the small doubt in her heart.

It’s not because she’s concerned about Yu Minglang that she’s having nightmares.

She’s used to them being apart often over the years, and after Yu Minglang’s promotion, he hasn’t gone out much. Although there’s been no contact for a while now, Qian knows where he is; the chances of nightmares due to missing or worrying about him are slight, so what exactly is she afraid of?

Qian can quickly help her clients find the root of their problems, but she often doesn’t understand her own thoughts.

”Qian, can you accompany me to try on wedding dresses during the day? My father ordered my wedding dress from abroad, and your and Da Yi’s bridesmaid dresses have arrived too, we both have time anytime, mainly it’s your schedule that matters?”

Qian nods, ”No problem, my programs are in the evening, I can accompany you during the day.”

The school’s classes aren’t avoiding or scheduled meeting times, Qian is still quite free.

”I’m a bit nervous, Qian, am I really getting married?”

”You already got married, only now think about pretending to be a young girl?” Qian mercilessly exposes her.

Shi Tou shakes her head, ”No, I’m genuinely nervous. These days I’ve been preparing for the wedding, also taking time to look at house renovations, suddenly there’s a sense of uncertainty, am I really going to live with him together?”

Ending student life and starting a family life, progressing from one stage to the next, Shi Tou has the bewilderment and anxiety every girl experiences, along with a little anticipation.

”It’s too late to regret now, because legally you’re already married, if you run away now it would be your second marriage.”

Shi Touyu nervously asks Qian, ”Qian, do you think I have pre-marital anxiety? Oh my god, do I have a psychological problem?”

When Qian hears the words pre-marital anxiety, something seems to flash through her mind quickly.

She sits up, thoughtfully looking at Shi Touyu.

Shi Touyu wraps herself shyly in a blanket, teasingly raising her fingers.

”Oh, you’re so annoying, why are you looking at me so passionately? What do you want to do to me? You look silly~”

”Stop joking—what did you just say?”

”I said you look silly!”

”Not that sentence, did you say pre-marital anxiety?”

”Hey! Qian, don’t scare me, do I truly have a psychological problem?” Shi Touyu also sits up, seeing Qian so serious.

Qian shakes her head.

”Not you... When women are preparing to enter marriage, many experience nervousness because marriage concerns the fate of a lifetime, everyone reacts differently, yours is considered normal.”

Shi Touyu pats her chest, ”You scared me, I thought I had a real problem, no wait, Qian, you say I don’t have a problem, so who does?”

Qian rubs her temples, ”Sleep.”

She knows why she’s having nightmares now.

In her past life, Qian ran away after Yu Minglang prepared the engagement ring, she interpreted it as a manifestation of pre-marital anxiety, but this life she and Yu Minglang are in love, he has always taken great care of her, yet she still feels this immense pressure.

Qian doesn’t believe her nightmares are a kind of pre-marital anxiety this time, because Yu Minglang hasn’t proposed to her yet, maybe it’s because she’s been too busy with work lately and missing Xiaoqiang, that’s why she’s like this.

Nasty Yu Xiaoqiang has been gone for so long, he should at least be back, at least make a call.

Qian decides that in tomorrow’s program, she’ll draw a husky slipping on a watermelon rind and sprawling on the ground. It’s definitely not a display of unhappiness, definitely not!
