Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 567: Chapter 541: Extra Meal and Eating to Your Fill

”Mr. Chen, let me ask you, as an expert in psychology, do you think there’s a psychological disorder where someone takes pleasure in seeing others suffer? Our Vice President loves watching us work overtime...”

Wang Yafei was absolutely delighted as he vented about Yu Minglang’s numerous ”misdeeds”.

Yu Minglang smiled and handed him a skewer of chicken wings, pouring him a drink, as if he didn’t hold any grudges at all.

Even though Wang Yafei had impressive work capabilities, he could never reach Yu Minglang’s level, mainly due to his lack of a sixth sense.

Yu Minglang’s sixth sense was as sharp as an animal’s, except when it came to Qian; with everyone else, it was spot on. Wang Yafei was much slower, not noticing the malice hidden behind the Vice President’s friendly smile, and he even sought common topics with Qian.

”Come on, eat more!” Yu Minglang handed over a few more skewers of meat, and Wang Yafei was flattered, unaware that what Yu Minglang really thought was: Eat more, go back to the office and you’ll get nothing, I’m going to make you work till the end!

”From a psychological perspective, humans have an innate aggression, but for most people, it’s not obvious under normal conditions. If triggered by external factors, this instinct might amplify and lead to psychological disorders. There’s external aggression like mania, violent tendencies, borderline personality disorders etc., and internal aggression which involves self-harm or depression.”

”Can you explain what kind of person might have aggressive tendencies?”

”Although each person is different, and there are genetic and hormonal imbalance factors, most external aggression tendencies are closely related to the environment. If a child grows up in an environment that excessively endorses violence or is aggressive itself, they may use aggression as a behavioral standard. The proportion of people with aggressive personality tendencies in society isn’t small, and it closely ties to family education.”

Qian could always explain very complex theories in the simplest way. Chatting with her, even those without any background could easily understand her points, unlike typical academics who speak in an unintelligible language.

”What about our Vice President?” Wang Yafei gained new insights.

”Him...” Qian glanced at Yu Minglang, feeling his hand under the table reminding her—be cautious with your words, or there’ll be ”extra duties” waiting for you.

Full meals included...

As a professional psychologist, would she be intimidated by someone’s shameless threats?

Qian acted as if she didn’t notice his mischief and nonchalantly asked Wang Yafei.

”What do you think about your Vice President’s situation?”

”Hehe, honestly, I think our Vice President is—”

”Young man, eat up!” Yu Minglang, attentively serving more food, used his gaze to warn Wang Yafei—not to tarnish his high-standing image in front of his future wife!

”Enough, I can’t finish all this.” Wang Yafei was still unaware of the imminent danger.

Isn’t eating that much enough to block your mouth?! Yu Minglang roared internally.

”Mr. Chen, I was just joking earlier. We all know he means well. Although we secretly call him a troublemaker, we’re actually grateful to have such a leader. You wouldn’t believe our performance bonuses! This place is much better managed than my former company, all because our Vice President is strict with us. We’re always thrilled on payday; he’s our hero.”

Our salaries have doubled—who wouldn’t want to follow a capable leader?

Wang Yafei took this opportunity to speak from many people’s hearts.

Normally too shy to say it directly, but in front of the future leader’s spouse, he expressed some sentiments.

Yu Minglang didn’t want anyone to speak ill of him in front of his future wife.

But being praised so openly was a bit embarrassing.

”Have you drunk too much? Eat more and talk less!” Yu Minglang stuffed more food into Wang Yafei’s mouth.

”Boss, even on my off days, you know I don’t drink, right?” Wang Yafei asked, puzzled.

Not an ounce of mutual understanding... Yu Minglang thought he might have to hold a meeting to research how to enhance teamwork amongst the management.

Qian found the scene amusing; Xiaoqiang always said she was like a twisted dough. Wasn’t he the same?

”Exactly, you’re right; your Vice President indeed doesn’t have a psychological problem. Though he has tried many ways to make you struggle, his intention differs fundamentally from those who are outwardly aggressive. All aggressive people have diverse reasons, but they share common traits—stubbornness, suspicion, lack of confidence, and low self-esteem. He has none of these.”

He’s just got a really thick skin. Qian pulled away the increasingly audacious hand from her leg, giving his hand a pinch in return.

Halfway through the meal, Qian’s phone rang.

It was almost 1 a.m. Who could be calling her?

Yu Minglang took advantage of the moment Qian answered the phone to quickly glance at the caller ID and saw that it was Teng Shuixian.

Qian apologized and went outside to take the call. Yu Minglang followed her out, not to eavesdrop, but out of concern because it was already quite late.

”Shuixian, what’s up so late?”

”It’s nothing; I’m on vacation abroad and forgot it’s midnight back home. Stupid time zone differences,” Shuixian’s voice came through the phone.

”Nonsense! Has your math deteriorated that you can’t figure this out? I bet one dollar you are deliberately disturbing me.”

Shuixian was also Qian’s patient. After developing a friendship with Qian, she became Qian’s sworn sister.

”Hold on—” After saying ”Hold on”, Shuixian turned to her dad, Teng Daye, and said, ”She saw through it instantly. You lost, Dad, you owe me a handbag.”

”That troublemaker Chen Xiaoqian! Are you two colluding to extort me?” Teng Daye’s voice came grumbling through the phone.

Qian smirked. Great, father and daughter making bets and using me as the wager!

”No more fooling around. Qian’er, there’s someone in need of help—will you take the case?” Over the years, aside from learning business from her father, Shuixian has met many people. If they needed psychological consultation, she’d refer them to Qian. The wealthy associate with the wealthy, and Qian can set her prices freely—that’s how Qian got her house.

”What’s the issue?” Qian asked.

”Borderline personality disorder. Can it be treated?”
