Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 392: Chapter 366: Bizarre Gift

”Mei, do you like taking care of flowers?” Yu Minglang asked ingratiatingly.

”Yes, I do, but I can’t keep them alive.”

”Then when you graduate, let’s keep a few pots of these big money trees. We’ll have a couple in the living room and some smaller ones in the bedroom. I’ll take care of them.”

Yu Minglang enthusiastically made plans, and Qian’s awkwardness was dispelled by his bright smile.

He held her hand all the while, sometimes looking at flowers, sometimes at fish.

Apart from all the beautiful orchids at the flower exhibition, there were all kinds of tropical fish in the small shops next to them. Yu Minglang led Qian around, introducing each one with a little devil in his heart laughing triumphantly.

Without any guts, would he dare to handle such delicate work?

To ensure a pleasant date with Mei, he had studied various comprehensive books on orchids and tropical fish!

All to introduce them to her while they were out together. Winning her heart wasn’t easy, this knowledge got all mixed up.

Qian could only listen to his explanations with an awkward look on her face, having to keep smiling.

This guy really doesn’t have it easy either. Other people would be studying the ’Thirty-Six Bedroom Techniques’ or various ”practical” skills when dating a girlfriend, but this guy turns himself into an encyclopedia of ’Ten Thousand Whys.’ Is he smart or stupid?

Doesn’t he realize how dark the expressions of the shopkeepers have become?

I bet the shopkeepers’ thoughts were also one big ’ugh!’

If you want to impress a girl, don’t treat a shop as a science academy. You’re such an expert on fish, why not just fly to the sky!

After wandering a big circle like this, Yu Minglang thoroughly introduced various tropical fish to Qian, and even planned out how many fish and flowers they should raise together once she graduates...

With nothing more to introduce, Qian breathed a sigh of relief. Yu Xiaoqiang, you should focus and hurry to see the houses. Any more delay in your plans, and with your stamina and time, just halfway through, your family would call you home for a meal!

When even Qian is anxious for him, it shows how slow Yu Minglang is, yet he doesn’t feel slow at all, rather quite smug.

Mei looks so happy, chirping like a little bird beside him, admiring him no matter what he says. Her sharp wit is all put aside, leaving only soft and gentle responses. Too gentle!

Next time, maybe he could study books on domestic animals and then take her to a farm to showcase his vast knowledge in other areas. Mei would surely like him even more!

The long-standing connection from their past lives is strong, and Qian truly likes him. Otherwise, with that level of emotional intelligence, dating someone like Qian would get him kicked hard and have her holding a middle finger in revenge.

”Your work is mentally demanding. By that time, I’ll keep some green plants for you, which are good for your brain. I’m planning to clear out the second floor to make a thinking room. We’ll fill it with our favorite plants, so we can sit in there, sip tea, calm our minds. I’ll even get two rocking chairs for us, one for each.”

”A thinking... room?”

Don’t normal people make a study room?

So Yu Xiaoqiang wants a place for daydreaming, complete with rocking chairs?

Is he trying to make them enter into the Alzheimer’s lifestyle early?

Qian was once again amazed by Yu Minglang’s flights of fancy.

”Yeah, a room where you can instantly relax, feel no pressure. Besides the rocking chairs, we can add some little objects we like. I think being a psychologist really drains one’s brain cells. If you’re tired outside, don’t read at home. Relax your mind, listen to some music you like, and tend to the flowers and plants.”

Qian felt a warmth in her heart from his silly words. He seemed able to irritate her just so much and then with a single sentence, he would warm her heart back up. This way, she ended up liking him even more.

It’s hard to tell if he’s smart or silly, but he always manages to inadvertently break through her psychological defenses.

Qian’s eyes crinkled as she smiled at him.

”Okay.”

Although his mind is always filled with strange thoughts, at least he always puts her first, right? Even if he’s occasionally foolish, in hindsight, it’s always such an endearing foolishness.

Qian was happy again.

Yu Minglang saw her smiling so brilliantly, and he felt happy as well. They exchanged a glance, and sparks flew between them.

Suddenly, Yu Minglang’s gaze stopped at a spot beside Qian, his eyes lighting up.

Right, how could he forget something so important?

”Qian, close your eyes and wait here for me.”

”Huh?”

”I’ve got a surprise for you.”

Qian looked around, noticing behind him was a flower vendor. Most of the stalls at the market sold potted plants with soil; only this one sold fresh flowers. The buckets were bursting with vibrant roses and large bunches of open lilies, emitting a rich fragrance.

When they first came in, Qian had commented on the lovely fragrance, and Yu Minglang must have remembered.

Qian really liked the pink lilies. She imagined Yu Minglang wanted to give her a bouquet of lilies. Pink would be perfect for today’s atmosphere.

Finally, something reliable, Qian thought happily, closing her eyes and waiting earnestly by the side.

Yu Minglang quickly rushed over, bought what he wanted, and returned.

”Qian, hold out your hand, come on~”

Qian extended her hand, expecting to feel the touch of a bouquet, but instead, she felt something fuzzy...

Fuzzy?!

She opened her eyes to see something small and white fuzzy wriggling in her palm...

”Ah!” She jumped, a chill running down her spine. Her hand shook, causing the little white mouse to fly off, arching perfectly through the air before quickly righting itself and scampering away.

With so many pots around, it slipped into a crack and disappeared. Even if Yu Minglang wanted to catch it, he wouldn’t be able to!

The fuzzy sensation lingered in Qian’s hand, and her hair stood on end.

Yu Minglang exclaimed in regret, ”Why’d you let it go?”

He was still holding an empty cage.

Qian decided to retract all the good things she just thought about him. Retract, fully!!

”Yu Minglang, don’t you have anything better to do?! Why’d you put a rat in my hand?!”

So gross... Although Qian isn’t terrified of mice, seeing one still made her feel irritable, especially remembering the white mouse in her palm and its touch...

”Miss, that’s not a rat! It’s a hamster, a milk tea hamster!” The hamster vendor corrected Qian righteously.

Qian was tempted to explode, and Yu Minglang looked genuinely regretful.

”Boss, it ran away before we even left your shop. Couldn’t you just give us another one? We bought the cage here too...”

”Yu Minglang! I don’t want it, I—don’t—want it!” Qian swore she wanted to be a graceful woman, not raise her voice, stay composed, but meeting a guy like Yu Xiaoqiang who has no boundaries...

It’s really hard to be graceful.
