Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 386: Chapter 360: Face-to-Face Encounter

Knowing Qian’s tendency to resort to violence at the slightest disagreement, Yu Minglang still dared to hint subtly.

”Qianbao, this melodramatic act might not work, you see, our Second Brother acts like a blockhead, but he’s actually well aware of everything, he’s quite shrewd.”

”Actually, I think it’s pretty melodramatic too. I just thought about it; it probably won’t work.” Qian said with some regret.

What she planned was to use Second Brother’s opportunity of giving Dong Yi a thorough check-up to claim that Da Yi had a terminal illness.

These two clearly have feelings for each other but are stuck because of misunderstandings. If we prompt them like this, it could cut off their source of fear.

Second Brother and Da Yi have their concerns; if we add another fear, something bigger like a terminal illness, to their current fears, then on this issue of life and death, Second Brother and Dong Yi may not care about their concerns anymore.

”Could our Second Brother’s intelligence really believe that stuff?” Yu Minglang questioned.

”Once something involves Da Yi, Second Brother’s intelligence plummets. The other day at your place, when I said Da Yi had a crush on my brother, he totally believed it.”

Men’s intelligence is sometimes hard to gauge, fluctuating unpredictably. They can be incredibly smart at times, yet unbelievably clueless at others.

”You can deceive for a moment, but not forever. Even if Second Brother buys it now, he’ll realize the flaws once he thinks it over back home; this sort of loophole-riddled scheme can only hide the truth for so long. Sure, you said she had a terminal illness, but Mr. Yu, with his stubborn nature, would surely transfer her to a top hospital for a precise examination, and then it would all be revealed.”

Yu Minglang’s analysis was spot on.

Here, claiming a terminal illness might be manageable — an older sister could pull some strings to fake a diagnosis and fool Mr. Yu.

Yet, if Mr. Yu gets wind that Dong Yi ”is sick”, would he just sit by and do nothing?

Given his character, he would sell property and land to get her thoroughly checked from head to toe at a top hospital, where forging records isn’t feasible; things could turn bad, and this joke cannot be taken lightly.

Qian was merely entertaining the idea, knowing it was too rotten an idea.

It wasn’t feasible.

But a mental breakdown therapy might indeed be the best solution for Second Brother and Dong Yi, only the execution is overly complex; if things aren’t managed properly, big issues could arise, so Qian could only think about it.

Second Brother returned after paying; Dong Yi had already woken up. The doctor said she was a bit anemic and emotionally agitated, but with some glucose and nutritional medicine, it wasn’t a big deal.

”Go in and talk to her.” Yu Minglang nudged Second Brother.

Second Brother hesitated for a moment but eventually opened the door and went in.

Qian and Yu Minglang exchanged a glance; they were outsiders, despite their eagerness, they knew better than to interfere too much in Second Brother’s matter.

”Sister-in-law, let’s head back. Panpan will wake up soon.” Yu Minglang said to his sister-in-law.

”Alright, sounds good.” Sister-in-law, who had noticed the unusual relationship between Second Brother and the girl inside, was perceptive enough to understand she should give them some space.

A nurse rushed over and spoke to Sister-in-law.

”Mr. Yv, there’s an emergency patient brought in, fainted.”

”Why bring a fainting case to me?” Sister-in-law had intentionally taken a day off today and, being a gynecologist, doesn’t deal with such cases.

”... The person who brought her said the one who fainted is your aunt and asked you to hurry over.”

”Ah?” Sister-in-law was stunned.

Her cellphone rang.

It was Mrs. Yu calling.

”Zhaozhao, has your Aunt arrived yet?”

”Uh, I just heard from a nurse; I haven’t been over to check. What’s up with Aunt?”

”What happened? She got knocked out by our family’s madness — forget it, she has high blood pressure and feels dizzy, needs hospitalization, arrange a room for her.”

Mrs. Yu was also exasperated.

Her daughter got into a spat with Aunt after Aunt’s provocation led her to bother Minglang with a hotel blockade using novice actors. Afterward, Aunt grew increasingly agitated, her blood pressure spiked, along with nerve compression from her cervical spine, she fainted.

It was initially not a major issue, a bit of IV and she’d be fine.

Yet Aunt insisted on blaming Mrs. Yu, phoning her with complaints, saying that after traveling far to attend Yu Minglang’s engagement celebration, she got sick and demanded Mrs. Yu take care of her, even insisting Mrs. Yu arrange a hospital room, wanting a single room with a serene environment and dedicated care.

Naturally, Mrs. Yu’s military hospital had limited beds, where could she find a single room with a serene environment? She could only have Aunt transferred to Sister-in-law’s hospital.

Sister-in-law was also distressed after hearing this.

She didn’t want to tend to Aunt either... that temper was simply unbearable; regardless of her high-quality tolerance and disposition, she struggled to cope.

But since Mother-in-law had sent Aunt over, Sister-in-law had no choice but to arrange the hospitalization.

Qian and Yu Minglang exchanged glances, seeing that the adored figure was coming; they definitely didn’t want to stay to tend to her.

Yu Minglang asked Qian.

”Do you want to see our house or check out your new car?”

”Not going to see your Aunt?” Qian asked.

Yu Minglang raised an eyebrow, ”What Aunt? What did you just hear? Weren’t we here to see Panpan?”

Qian slapped her forehead, her fiancé was truly sharp.

”Right, we know nothing, let’s hurry and leave.”

Sister-in-law found it both amusing and curious, ”You two, really... alright, leave as you wish, staying won’t be good either, I’ll handle it.”

It was Sister-in-law who was so enlightened, sacrificing herself to ensure happiness for the whole family of Mr. Yu.

Dragging Yu Minglang out, they left just as Aunt, sporting sunglasses and a headscarf, was wheeled in. Two groups bumped into each other, meeting face to face.

Yu Minglang swiftly hugged Qian and turned his head away, focusing on the diagonal ceiling decor, pretending he hadn’t seen Aunt.

But Aunt quickly spotted them and tried to turn her head, Sister-in-law motioned, and the orderly sped by, nearly sending Aunt’s wheelchair flying.

Yu Minglang was quick too, leading Qian downstairs without looking back.

Aunt furiously questioned Sister-in-law, ”Is this how your mother-in-law educates children?! Not even a greeting from Mr. Yu when he sees an elder?!”

Sister-in-law smiled warmly.

”Oh aunt, you got the wrong person, that wasn’t Mr. Yu. Mr. Yu and his wife are still at home. That one just resembled Mr. Yu a lot, but it wasn’t him. I was just telling the nurse how that patient looked just like my little brother-in-law.”

Believing such words would indeed be seeing ghosts; unaware that more troublesome events, which further elevated her blood pressure, were still ahead. This time the blow wasn’t from Mr. Yu and his wife, nor from Yu Mingxi, but from...!
