Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 171: Chapter 170: So That’s How It Is (Monthly Ticket 1400+ Bonus)

On the way back to the dormitory, Dong Yi was silent, and Shi Touyu couldn’t help but ask first.

”First year, who was that person?”

”...”

Seeing she didn’t want to talk, Shi Yu didn’t press her, just shook the skewers in her hand, ”Let’s eat something when we get back, okay?”

”You guys eat, I’m tired.” Dong Yi seemed a bit exhausted. Shi Yu wanted to say something more, but Chen Xiaoqian held her hand and shook her head.

Back at the dorm, Dong Yi lay on the bed and soon fell asleep.

Chen Xiaoqian and the chatty Shi Yu chatted for a while. Qian closed her eyes for a little nap. Her biological clock was very precise. As long as she thought of what time to wake up when lying down, she could wake at that time.

At 2:30 in the morning, Chen Xiaoqian opened her eyes on time. Silently, she glanced at Dong Yi’s top bunk across from her; she was still sleeping. Shi Yu’s half leg was off the bed, sleeping while giggling.

”Bro, hehe, bro...”

Chen Xiaoqian got off the bed, patted Shi Yu’s face. Shi Yu murmured a few words, turned over, and continued to sleep. Chen Xiaoqian simply sat beside her, one hand pinching her nose and the other covering her mouth.

In her dream, Shi Yu was dreaming of something indescribable. Suddenly, she felt the person in her heart directly kiss her, making her almost unable to breathe.

”Little demon, didn’t you know you have to breathe through your nose when kissing? I’ve blocked your mouth. How much of my salary has this naughty little mouth eaten, hmm?” That’s what the person in the dream said.

Wow, so wicked, so wild! So... I can’t breathe!

In the dream, Shi Yu’s mouth was blocked, and she couldn’t breathe through her nose. Startled, she opened her eyes, not seeing the person in her heart, just seeing Qian sitting calmly in front of her bed, almost suffocating her!

”Chen Xiaoqian! Do you want to break up with me again? That’s it, we’re done, we really can’t go on!”

In the middle of the night, not sleeping, but coming to block her nose! So hateful!

Chen Xiaoqian made a shushing gesture and lowered her voice.

”Don’t speak. No matter what you see in a while, don’t say a word.”

”I dreamed my male god was kissing me! You better have a good reason, what time is it now!” Shi Yu said angrily, pulling at her hair. When she gets mad, she pulls her hair, turning it into a bird’s nest.

Such a once-in-a-lifetime great dream was ruined just like that.

”I’m your bible of salvation, sun god of Japan, taking you ghost hunting.”

Shi Yu shivered in fright, pointing angrily at Chen Xiaoqian, unable to speak a word.

Her roommate was so cruel, didn’t she know she was timid? What was she doing in the middle of the night!

”The reason people feel fear is because of the unknown. When you find out that what you fear is just ordinary, you will be fearless, like ghost fires, like the rumors of ghosts in school this time—”

”I don’t want to hear it, I don’t want to hear it! You’re bad! Whatever I’m afraid of, you’ll say~” Shi Yu’s voice trembled.

Chen Xiaoqian made a shushing gesture again, ”Whatever you see in a moment, you don’t say anything, just follow me.”

”Have you heard the news about poisoning roommates? Really, Qian, if you keep this up, maybe one day I’ll retaliate.” Shi Yu was so scared that she was wide awake. In the silent dormitory at three in the morning, the ticking clock was a terrifying sound.

Many scary plots appeared in her mind, and Shi Yu unconsciously held tighter onto Chen Xiaoqian’s hand.

Still feeling scared, she simply hung garlic around her neck. Looking at Chen Xiaoqian, she wanted to share half with her. Chen Xiaoqian shook her head; what a joke. Two heads in a garlic ring going out would be scarier.

Shi Yu plucked a head of garlic and stuffed it into Chen Xiaoqian’s hand. She wrapped red cloth around her wrist, bit the cross, and held the bible, her heart still pounding.

Suddenly, there was movement on the top bunk, and Shi Yu watched as Dong Yi climbed down from the top bunk. Delight filled her heart, and she almost called Dong Yi to come over. She removed the cross from her mouth, but before she could speak, Chen Xiaoqian stuffed it back in, stopping her from speaking.

As a result, Dong Yi got off the bed and slowly walked out, opening the dormitory door and stepping outside.

”Qian, what is Dong Yi doing in the middle of the night?”

There’s a toilet in the dorm, no need for Dong Yi to go to the public one.

”She’s sleepwalking, come on, follow.”

Chen Xiaoqian grabbed a flashlight and quickly followed.

Shi Yu’s legs felt weak; this was the rumored ghost haunting time. She was really timid.

But both of her roommates were gone, and her righteousness left her with no choice.

Gritting her teeth, she clutched the bible and followed, silently praying, Amitabha, God bless, and the Sun God of Japan, if anything happens, you help! I’ll prepare more incense money later; it’s too scary!

Dong Yi’s pace was not fast; it was like she was taking a slow walk. Chen Xiaoqian also slowed her steps. Shi Yu caught up and quietly asked Chen Xiaoqian.

”Qian, are you sure Dong Yi is sleepwalking?”

”Mm.”

”But how does she see where she’s going while sleepwalking?” Shi Yu watched as Dong Yi turned a corner slowly, then started walking up the stairs leading to the top floor.

”Sleepwalkers, some have eyes half-open, some fully open.”

”My gosh! I didn’t realize Dong Yi had this skill? Is she actually a descendant of a witchcraft family, awakened a second personality in her dream to exorcise demons when she heard about the school’s ghost rumors?”

Shi Yu, being a comic artist, had quite an imagination.

Chen Xiaoqian couldn’t help but shake her head with a smile.

”One-third of our life is spent in dreamland. There’s a school of thought in psychology that says sleep is our subconscious communicating with ourselves. All our actions come from the subconscious, so—”

”It’s the middle of the night, Qian, and you’re giving me a psychology lesson! Tell me about Dong Yi’s situation.”

The academic underachiever didn’t understand.

”Actually, sleepwalking sounds distant, but about 1% to 6% of children occasionally sleepwalk, meaning 25% of children have sleepwalked. Adult sleepwalking is relatively rare and can be seen as a pathological condition. Some cook in their sleep but don’t eat, going back to bed, some wander around the house, and some wake up to find themselves inexplicably lying in the bathroom, but they remember nothing upon waking.”

”Ah! Speaking of sleepwalking, I remember my mom teaching me not to wake a sleepwalker, or they’ll die!”

”There’s no scientific basis for that. Actually, the correct method for dealing with sleepwalking, I’ll demonstrate it for you in a bit.”

When she heard the rumors of ghosts in the school, Chen Xiaoqian couldn’t help but think of Dong Yi.

The story about the white dress was suspicious; later, the big-mouthed monkey confirmed it for Chen Xiaoqian.

Dong Yi was definitely sleepwalking.

Sleepwalking is somewhat a symbolic wish compensation, a variant state of consciousness. Although sleepwalkers don’t remember what happened when they wake, it can be seen as compensating for their inner self. Now, Chen Xiaoqian wants to see what in Dong Yi’s heart she wants to compensate for.
