Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 158: Chapter 158: A New Level of Foolishness

”I only brought half of the survival tools for camping, Mei, you lay out the picnic mat, I’ll go fishing. Pairing men and women makes work less tiring.”

Yu Minglang handed Mei the backpack and walked towards the small river.

Setting up the fishing rod, he had imagined this scene countless times: him fishing, and his girl readying the picnic mat. Once he catches a fish, she’ll come over, wrap her arms around his neck, exclaiming, ”You’re amazing! So awesome!” Mei would definitely like him even more!

As he turned back, he saw Qian sitting on the muddy ground, her face full of anger.

It had just rained, the road was slippery, and she’d taken a few steps and accidentally fell.

Yu Minglang hurriedly dropped the fishing rod to help her. Qian was so angry she was almost smoking.

”Yu Minglang, are you stupid?!?!”

He walked so fast with his strides and didn’t even look back at her; the road was so hard to walk on, but he didn’t care about her!

She’s someone who cares so much about her image, and now she’s this embarrassed, sitting in mud, her shoes are ruined. Her black strappy flats are all covered in mud, her pants are covered in mud too, muddy water had soaked through her pants. In this season, you can only wear one layer of pants, and now water has seeped onto her legs, it’s such a frustrating feeling!

”Next time, I’ll find you a pair of training boots, these shoes aren’t slip-resistant...”

Embarrassed, Qian forcefully pushed him, ”You shameless guy! You still dare to blame the shoes!”

Why is she even with this guy?! Look at the desolate place he chose!

At this moment, Qian’s anger had maxed out; she pushed away Yu Minglang wanting to head to the car. Right now she just wanted to drive back and let this guy sit here on his own in the wilderness, dealing with fish or whatever!

She took a couple of steps and almost slipped into the mud again, almost falling, but Yu Minglang quickly steadied her, and Qian let out a scream in frustration.

”Ah!!”

She could imagine how silly she looked right now, dirty all over, on the verge of a breakdown; and the culprit for all this was standing next to her with an innocent face, inexplicably watching her erupt in anger.

Qian felt if she was just a bit more regal, she’d kick this big dummy into the mud, then coolly turn around and drive his car back to the city, letting Yu Minglang limp back to the city, and it’d be best if he had a stick, a scruffy beard, and a weathered look—that would be satisfying.

But Yu Minglang wasn’t just thick-skinned, he was strong too, she couldn’t push him.

Qian could only slog through the mud towards the car with difficulty. Yu Minglang immediately went over to support her, Qian pushed him, but he didn’t get angry.

”Don’t be upset, be good.”

”I’ll listen to you, alright!”

”I have spares in the trunk, although they’re shorts. You can wear my pants; I’ll change into shorts.”

Finally, he said something decent, Qian huffed, the anger still lingering, ”Don’t peek while I change!”

”You’re underestimating my integrity.” After all, she’s going to be his sooner or later; there’s no need for him to sneak a peek now?

There were quite a lot of mosquitoes here, wearing shorts would get her bitten, so Yu Minglang suggested changing clothes. He turned his back to the car window, took off his pants, then handed them to Qian through the window.

Qian was both embarrassed and angry during this process, feeling like no one would date as foolishly as she did, making such a mess of things.

Her boyfriend, still on probation, was standing outside wearing boxer shorts, while she was inside like an idiot, changing pants. The look, the scene, the emotion—Yu Minglang wanted to create an unforgettable memory, and congratulations, he did.

Years later, Qian hardly forgot the shame and anger she felt at this moment.

There’s nobody else who could make her this embarrassed, other than him.

His pants still carried his body heat, which clung to her legs, not an intimate act, yet it made her heart burn even more.

Yu Minglang turned his back to Qian, was just about to slip one leg into the pants, and suddenly sensed something was wrong. He looked up and saw, not far away, a car approaching with high beams on.

Broad daylight, using high beams—was this person brainless? After seeing whose car it was, Yu Minglang felt the driver was even more brainless.

A champagne-colored Mercedes stopped not far away.

Zheng Xu in the car felt the man with two exposed legs was really annoying, simply an eyesore, flashing lights at him still wasn’t enough.

Yu Minglang felt disgusted. He and Mei had come all the way out here from the city, and now this nuisance Zheng Xu had followed them?

Yu Minglang turned his back to Qian, being a gentleman. But Qian wasn’t going to miss the chance to ogle. After dressing, she turned openly to watch.

For her fondness of watching him from the back, Qian even provided a perfect psychological explanation. Females, since primitive society, know that taller males are more likely to win in various competitions; that’s also why women like to seek perfect men as fathers for their children, and she was just retaining primitive instincts, wasn’t she?

Yu Minglang truly possessed the qualities to make women infatuated—broad shoulders, a perky rear, a slim and upright waist, even from the back, a perfect proportion. If only he didn’t wear green boxer shorts, Qian thought he’d be even more perfect.

This guy’s clothing style was too simple, wearing hand-me-downs from his previous workplace.

Currently, he wore Baiyi big shorts, also known as the Big Yellow River shorts, their overwhelming green, an outdated style that silenced anyone, could make a heroic guy turn into a country boy. It was only after knowing Qian that a tasteful female boss forced transformation on him, adding some CK low-rise, revealing the mermaid line.

Qian was in the midst of appreciating Yu Minglang’s back, and as he lifted his leg to put on pants, from Qian’s angle it was just enough to vaguely glimpse something. Just when she was mischievously wishing he’d lift his leg a bit more, Zheng Xu’s car appeared ahead.

Qian was baffled about what was happening, while Yu Minglang showed a disgusted expression, quickly dressed, and Zheng Xu drove up and purposefully splattered Yu Minglang with mud.

”Mr. Yu, what’re you doing here?” Zheng Xu rolled down the window and leaned out to ask.

”I hadn’t asked you what you’re here for?” Yu Minglang had planned this meeting with his girl for so long, only for it to be destroyed by this guy!

”If you can come, I can’t?” Zheng Xu set his gaze on the fishing gear by the river and the pair of women’s shoes by Yu Minglang’s feet, his eyes darkened.

Zheng Xu had just been force-fed love bites by Qian and Yu Minglang yesterday, and now forced by his own family master to bring specialities to old acquaintances in this area; after business, he was ready to return to the city, but as he passed here, he inexplicably thought of school days, and was driven to take a glance at what the alma mater looked like now.

The result: such glaringly obvious two bare legs and Baiyi big shorts.
