Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Another Encounter with My Doctoral Advisor

When you don’t know what a pregnant woman is, you won’t notice that many women around you are pregnant. Once you understand the concept, you’ll often see pregnant women. The world changes based on personal perception; it’s not that there are more pregnant women, but that perception has changed.

Psychologists can always find people with various psychological problems around them, and it’s the same reasoning.

Qian looked at the people under the overpass. How many of them have severe psychological illnesses like Zheng Xu?

Very few.

But how many people need psychological counseling or are in a bad mood?

Many.

Everyone will have things that upset them and moments of bad mood; it’s just that many problems can self-resolve over time.

If a family member passes away, you’ll feel uncomfortable; if a couple divorces, you’ll feel sad; if you argue with friends, there will be emotional fluctuations. These are difficult for ordinary people to notice, but a psychologist can always see it. Looking at people around her from a doctor’s perspective, Qian feels as if there are many strange people around her.

Actually, these strange people appear normal to ordinary people.

After curing Zheng Xu, her mood was filled with mixed emotions.

Any psychological illness has a cause of onset. No matter how complex the case, as long as the conflicting point is found, it can be resolved. Zheng Xu and she were mental twins; if his phobia can be cured, when will her OCD recover?

After starting a relationship with Yu Minglang, the occurrence of her OCD significantly decreased, but it hasn’t healed.

Qian suddenly understood that to truly heal, she must wait for that little angel to come back and personally tell her ”it’s okay, mom,” only then would she truly be fine.

Thinking of her daughter, Qian burst into tears, feeling that her current self is still far, far away from being a mother. She feels she’s not strong or capable enough to support another little one’s future.

”Do you need help?” A somewhat stern female voice echoed beside her. Qian turned around and saw an older woman, impeccably dressed, with not even a wrinkle, asking her with concern.

”Professor Liu?” Isn’t this her PhD advisor?!

This stern-looking middle-aged woman in front of her is one of the few people Qian admired: her advisor from her past life, Liu Linlin.

”Do you know me?” Professor Liu had spoken to Qian because the young girl standing on the overpass was covered in tears, fearing that she might contemplate jumping, so she asked.

”I’m a student of social psychology at BD Normal University. My name is Chen Xiaoqian. I’ve attended your lectures.”

”Do you have any difficulties?”

”Not really. Why would you ask?”

Professor Liu pointed at Qian’s face, and only then did Qian realize she had been crying without realizing it.

”I’m alright, just thinking of my deceased father, feeling a bit sentimental.” Qian used her irresponsible dad as a shield.

Professor Liu patted Qian on the shoulder, ”People cannot come back to life after death. To live well in place of the deceased relatives is the only way to commemorate them.”

Her mentor is still so rigorous and serious; Qian was a little afraid of her in her past life because she was too strict and had even hit Qian over Shi Touyu’s matter.

However, Qian’s solid clinical foundation was all thanks to her.

”Professor Liu, why are you in Q City?”

”I’m here to handle some issues.”

”Then I won’t disturb you. Please go about your business.”

Liu Linlin nodded, and as she was about to leave, Qian called her.

”Professor Liu, if I have future queries in my field, may I consult you?”

”I have very limited time. If you have questions, ask your course teachers.”

”That’s quite straightforward, though I forgot how she used to chase me to teach her,” Qian mumbled to herself with a hint of a smile as she watched her mentor’s back, not angry at being refused.

That’s her mentor: a person with a particularly cold demeanor, feared by many students, yet she was quite kind to her. Previously, the mentor always said Qian would become a real psychologist, but after the Shi Touyu incident, she hit her and angrily reprimanded her, saying she had misjudged. It really hurt Qian.

Living another life, although she doesn’t know if she can still get under her wing, Qian doesn’t want to hear her teacher say she got it wrong again.

Qian descended from one side of the overpass while Liu Linlin descended from the other side, boarded a Cadillac, out of sight.

”Big Fat, why did you come in person?” Liu Linlin asked as she got into the car.

Yu Mingli chuckled, ”Aunt Liu, why do you still call me by my nickname?”

”You keep gaining weight, don’t you have three highs?”

Piercing directly into the heart, Yu Mingli could barely continue smiling. This was his mother’s elementary school classmate and a psychological authority invited by his mother to help with Panpan; he couldn’t afford to offend her.

When they arrived at the Yu Family, Mrs. Yu eagerly approached but was pushed away disdainfully by Professor Liu before they could hug, ”Qi, where is the child you wanted me to see?”

Mr. Yu felt balanced, chuckling, as this formidable old lady even called his mother by her nickname.

Mrs. Yu knew Liu Linlin didn’t like to be touched by others and wasn’t angry; she had always been fussy since her student years.

”In this room, come and check, I’m so worried.”

Panpan was now staying with Mrs. Yu. She only found out about her second child’s divorce after the procedures were done. Mr. Yu had handled the divorce of the second child overnight. Mrs. Yu was a bit upset upon hearing it.

Even though she disliked Wang Xiaohong, she had called her ”Mom” for several years, and leaving without a word, without even a chance to persuade her, felt uncomfortable.

The second child just made a call, saying there was a lack of emotional connection and a friendly divorce, offering no further explanation.

Mrs. Yu couldn’t find Wang Xiaohong, so she had to let it be.

The current pressing task was healing the child.

After seeing the child, Liu Linlin performed almost the same procedures as Qian, then called Mrs. Yu out to speak.

”The child has mild childhood anxiety with accompanying phobia. There’s still time for treatment. How did you discover it?”

”Just like what Qian said.”

”Who?”

”Chen Xiaoqian, also from your school, is my youngest son’s girlfriend. She found something unusual with my grandson, so I asked you. She performed almost the same procedures as you.”

”Just like me?” Liu Linlin realized it was the girl crying on the overpass!

But given her major, she shouldn’t have known these things. This young lady could cross disciplines and make such precise judgments. Professor Liu was deeply impressed by Qian.

”What grade is she in?” She was considering accepting a few graduate students, and if this girl was so talented, she might pay attention to her.

”Freshman, just got accepted.”

What?! A freshman and already this exceptional?! Liu Linlin decided that upon returning to school, she would seek out Chen Xiaoqian for a chat.
