The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 39: Chapter 39: An Unlucky Fall on Flat Ground

“Can you… give me a hand?” Qin Xin asked weakly as he lay on the ground.

Cheng Guodong stepped back instead, eyeing him with full suspicion, “As soon as I come to help you, you’ll immediately cling to me, don’t think I’ll be fooled!”

Qin Xin couldn’t help but laugh and cry, he pointed to himself in disbelief, “You don’t think I’m scamming, do you?”

“What else? Who suddenly falls flat on the ground for no reason!”

Cheng Guodong looked around and realized there were no cameras here, it was a blind spot.

He became even more wary, backing away repeatedly, “I’m telling you, I’m a peasant, my family is very poor, clinging to me won’t do you any good, I don’t have money to compensate you!”

...

Qin Xin held his forehead, resignedly said, “I’m really not scamming, I’ve just been a bit unlucky lately, that’s why I’m falling over. Just help me up; I don’t need your money, I’ll give you money.”

Qin Xin was an overseas investment magnate, holding significant stakes in a hundred companies, all of which were leaders in their respective industries.

He had a unique vision; companies he took interest in would inevitably attract numerous investors because he had never failed before—he was famously known as the man with the Midas touch.

It was just that recently, he’d had bad luck, always mysteriously tripping over nothing or being targeted by birds flying overhead, leaving a mess. It was not physically damaging, but extremely insulting.

While eating a bun on Wall Street abroad, he encountered a one-eyed old man who told him that he had attracted something unclean.

The old man advised him that returning to his country might lead him to someone who could help.

He’d heard about a feng shui master in a particular place, but he hadn’t been back to his country in a long time and had lost his way. He ended up in this place by mistake and was just about to ask for directions when he suddenly tripped and fell.

Cheng Guodong was skeptical, “You would give me money?”

Qin Xin hastily took out his wallet, which was full of foreign currency.

He didn’t look closely, just took out everything and handed it over.

Cheng Guodong glanced at it and waved his hand, “No thanks!”

With the national currency, he had even encountered counterfeit money; he dared not accept this questionable foreign currency.

Cheng Guodong was a super-rich tycoon. Yet he was patriotic; his bank cards were filled with national currency and he never bothered with foreign exchange, let alone recognizing these foreign currencies.

“This is all I have on me,” Qin Xin said, thinking Cheng Guodong found the amount too little, “Help me up, and I can go to the bank and withdraw money.”

Cheng Guodong, seeing his pitiful state and looking at the wallet in his hand, which appeared to be a brand he recognized,

thought, “Could someone who uses this brand be scamming?”

Cheng Guodong reached out to help him, saying, “I don’t want your money, just don’t scam me, that’s all!”

Qin Xin was pulled up and held his waist, gasping in pain, “I think I’ve hurt my back, can you help me see if this address is far from here?”

Cheng Guodong took the piece of paper and looked at it, his mouth twitching, “One south, one west, they couldn’t be further apart. Wait a minute… ”

Cheng Guodong became more familiar with the address the more he looked at it; it was the same one his grandfather had struggled to get when he was experiencing misfortune, claiming a highly skilled feng shui master lived there. However, when he sought him out, he learned that Old Mr. Xu had passed away.

“You’ve been having a run of bad luck lately?” Cheng Guodong suddenly asked.

Qin Xin laughed at himself, “Do you think tripping over nothing is a stroke of bad luck?”

Cheng Guodong looked at him sympathetically, “Definitely unlucky.”

“I had frequent mishaps abroad, and someone told me this person could help me, so I came back to the country to find him.”

“Too bad, you’re too late. Elder Xu has passed away.”
