The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Little Taotie is Illiterate

“I am a mother who had three children; the first time I saw my eldest and youngest sons, my feelings were indescribably overwhelming and excited, but when I first saw Yinyin, I didn’t feel that way.”

Liu Mingzhu raised her head, her eyes brimming with tears, “At that time, I thought there was something wrong with me. I asked many psychologists why I felt so distant from my child, lacking the excitement of a mother.”

“The doctors all thought I was overthinking, or since I had three children, that feeling which had occurred twice already, just disappeared, numbed by the third time.”

“I know… it wasn’t like that.”

Liu Mingzhu clenched her husband’s hand, “Tiancheng, I’m so scared that all of this might be true.”

“I’m afraid I didn’t protect my own flesh and blood, that I let her drift away from us; my roars, my rage, they were all just masking my inner panic and helplessness.”

...

Tao Tiancheng held her in his arms and gently patted her back to comfort her, soothingly saying, “Calm down; don’t think about anything now. Wait for the results of the DNA test, and everything will have an answer.”

…

Tao Ti was taken by Cheng Guodong to the audition site, looking somewhat bewilderedly at Cheng Guodong, completely clueless about the situation.

“They’re casting the female lead, and you’re very suitable for this role, so I brought you here to try.”

“Can I really do it?” Tao Ti blinked her large eyes, sparkling with hope.

Cheng Guodong wanted to nod his head immediately but considering whether the role would indeed be Tao Ti’s, which ultimately required public voting. If the public didn’t vote for her, according to the show’s rules, she would lose this opportunity.

Even though he financed the show and could secure Tao Ti’s role with just a word, he did not wish to do so. He preferred for Tao Ti to participate on her own, in a fair contest.

“You are very suitable for this role in all aspects; as long as you try hard, you definitely can do it.”

Tao Ti clenched her little fists, her voice childishly earnest, “I will try hard, to earn money to treat Grandpa!”

Cheng Guodong had repeatedly told her not to worry about her grandfather’s illness, as he had already arranged for a transfer to a better hospital and would cover the expenses.

But she was stubbornly set on earning the money herself to save her grandfather.

Many children had arrived at the venue, some sent by performance interest classes to participate in the audition.

Tao Ti received a love token with the number 77 written on it.

“There are so many people ahead of me!” Tao Ti counted with her fingers, but unfortunately, she couldn’t count clearly.

It was at this moment that Cheng Guodong realized, Tao Ti was already six years old!

Yet, Tao Ti had never even attended kindergarten!

At this age, she should be in primary school already!

Cheng Guodong slapped his forehead, scolding himself for his negligence.

“Sit here for a while. I need to make a phone call.”

Tao Ti obediently nodded and responded, “Okay, I’ll sit nicely.”

Cheng Guodong patted her head and walked to a secluded area to call his assistant, “Xiao Wang, I forgot something important. I didn’t arrange for schooling for my sister!”

Assistant Wang, an experienced dad, immediately replied, “I’ll consult with schools right away, and try to get her admitted this summer.”

“Thank you, that would be great. You know my sister’s situation. She hasn’t been to a kindergarten or anything like that before, so she might not adapt immediately. Communicate well with the school, and if she can’t be admitted, a pre-school class would also work.”

“Alright.”

After hanging up, Cheng Guodong exhaled deeply, about to turn back, when suddenly a man walking towards him tripped over his own feet and fell to the ground!

Cheng Guodong: Is this a scam?
