The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: King of Film Xu’s Good Cooking Skills

The online world was once again flooded with negative rumors, threatening Little Taotie’s reputation.

Cheng Guodong frowned with worry, “Why are people attacking her again!”

Publicist No. 1 said, “Based on my years of experience, it’s very likely that the person attacking her is from the same show.”

Publicist No. 2 agreed, “Same feeling.”

Publicist No. 3 echoed, “Same here.”

Cheng Guodong narrowed his eyes, “Investigate!”

...

…

On the first day of “Pastoral Life” being live-streamed, Tao Ti woke up from her sleep and flashed a soft smile at the camera inside the room.

[Zaizai, mama loves you!]

[Little Taotie has woken up, the beast is about to come down the mountain to feed!]

[Wonder what delicious food the show has prepared for our treasure?]

[Is King of Film Xu up this early? What’s he doing?]

King of Film Xu put on an apron and started making breakfast.

With limited funds, he had no clue what kind of tricks the show’s producers would pull, so cooking himself was a way to save money.

King of Film Xu had anorexia which resulted in excellent cooking skills since only extraordinary food could appeal to him.

By the time Tao Ti and Cheng Lu had freshened up, they saw a table full of delicious foods outside.

Chicken breast salad, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, ham sandwiches, milk and cereal.

All were simple homemade breakfast items, but the scrambled eggs were unlike any other. Tao Ti asked, “How can they be so delicious?”

King of Film Xu smiled in reply, “Because when scrambling the eggs, I added a secret shrimp paste.”

“Wow!” Tao Ti’s eyes sparkled, “No wonder it’s as savory as shrimp!”

Cheng Lu gave him a glance and asked awkwardly, “You’ve put thought into this, haven’t you?”

The phrase was a double entendre.

It praised his cleverness for bringing shrimp paste to the show, prepared for any eventuality.

But it also had a deeper meaning since Cheng Lu loved shrimp paste.

The flavor of the shrimp paste was almost identical to the one her maternal grandmother used to make, and after Cheng Lu had let King of Film Xu taste it once during their school years, he had remembered the flavor.

[King of Film Xu’s cooking skills are so good? Clean plate club!]

[Little Taotie looks so satisfied eating, rubbing her belly is so cute!]

[I feel like King of Film Xu’s gaze towards Cheng Lu is so warm!]

The mission from the show arrived.

Opening the envelope, the task was to perform in the village’s evening gala, and the family who got the most red flowers would be crowned the champion.

The prize from the last episode, the golden zodiac, had already been customized and was sent along with this mission’s envelope.

Opening the three boxes, they contained three different zodiacs.

Little Taotie was born in the year of the Tiger, and Cheng Lu teased, “So our Little Taotie is a tigress!”

King of Film Xu looked at the box in Cheng Lu’s hand, the golden rabbit inside shone brightly, and he chuckled softly, “It seems the rabbit is quite scared of the tiger!”

King of Film Xu’s zodiac was the Sheep, but Cheng Lu disagreed, “The sheep walking into the tiger’s mouth! You should be the scared one!”

After teasing each other for a while, King of Film Xu asked, “What will we perform?”

“I can only act,” Cheng Lu spread her hands out.

If she could sing or dance, she wouldn’t have stuck with acting; even after many years of playing supporting roles without much success, she would have switched to another talent if she had one.

King of Film Xu pointed at himself, “What else do you think I can do besides act?”

When one focuses on one thing to the extreme, their other abilities generally pale in comparison.

Cheng Lu and King of Film Xu exchanged glances, pinning all their hopes on Little Taotie, with both their gazes suddenly focusing on her.

Tao Ti blinked her eyes, remembered the dance she had learned at the unscrupulous company—difficult moves she had practiced day and night until she had mastered them.

“I can dance!”

Cheng Lu and King of Film Xu immediately clapped, saying in unison, “Show us a bit!”

The live-streaming camera also focused on Little Taotie.

Tao Ti felt a bit shy but, eager to earn money for her grandfather’s treatment, nodded her head vigorously, “Okay!”
