The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Possessing the Taotie Inheritance

After Tao Ti had eaten her fill, those dreams became clearer, and the lost abilities gradually began to recover. In her dreams, a voice taught her how to use these abilities, which felt like a legacy of memories.

She could devour Evil Spirits, misfortunes, and even good fortune.

However, the voice warned her not to devour good fortune at will, as it would bring her misfortune.

”Wake up!” someone pulled her up.

Suddenly coming out of the warm blanket, a cold breeze blew across, making Tao Ti shiver.

She opened her bleary eyes and saw that it was the bad uncle.

Chen Bin said with a stern face, ”Today, you need to participate in a show. Cooperate with the director obediently, and don’t forget that your grandfather still needs you to earn money for his treatment.”

Tao Ti nodded.

She vaguely saw many little dark figures following behind the bad uncle, numerous and densely packed.

Tao Ti thought she was seeing things, rubbed her eyes, and looked again. The little dark figures became clear; they were children with fierce expressions.

Tao Ti was startled and dared not look up at Chen Bin again.

Chen Bin thought the child was scared of him and said lightly, ”As long as you behave, you will not lack benefits. I heard you like to eat, and in ’Pastoral Life,’ there is a segment where guests cook. Eat a lot and play the role of a food lover; this persona is quite popular recently.”

Tao Ti was taken to a large mountain, climbed a mountain road, and on the mountain top, there was a wooden cabin, quite huge, with two floors and six rooms, three on each floor.

’Pastoral Life’ invited six female guests, six male guests, and six children.

The male and female guests were to draw lots to form temporary families, then let the six young humans choose their favorite mom and dad.

Although this place was in the mountains, it had been developed into a scenic spot.

Rumor had it that the big boss who leased this place was Cheng Guodong, the richest man in the city, only twenty-six years old. He had been interested in farming and breeding since he was young. The things he grew were exclusively supplied to the government and the military, so he also had good connections.

With beautiful hometown scenery, he made money and cleared roads, built facilities, and bought several mountains, opened agritourism sites, hotels, and resorts.

He was also the biggest investor in ’Pastoral Life.’

Of the six female guests, three had already received confirmed news that this diamond bachelor would be present at the scene.

The three female guests were dolled up extravagantly and did not look like they came to the program to play the role of a temporary mother.

After the male and female guests finished drawing lots for pairing, the director brought out six children.

The six children were all around six or seven years old; Tao Ti was the youngest among them.

Three boys and three girls.

Director Wen Sheng said, ”Little friends, give your little red flowers to your favorite mom.”

Tao Ti had been instructed to wait until last, after the other five children had chosen, and the remaining would be hers.

The other five were already somewhat famous child stars, each having acted as the children of female leads in popular dramas or as the younger siblings of female leads in movies.

Tao Ti, wanting to earn more money for her grandfather’s treatment, was very obedient. She walked slowly, waiting for the other children to give away their flowers before approaching the last remaining couple.

She handed the flower to a plain-looking actress.

Cheng Lu was a talented actress, not young anymore, and had not yet made a big hit. However, she had appeared in many popular dramas, always in minor supporting roles.

This show was an opportunity she got by thickening her face and asking her great-aunt for a chance, as her relative invested in it.

Before participating in the show, she had already reviewed the profiles of the six children, and she liked this child the most.

This child was too adorable, especially those eyes that seemed to melt you when they looked at you.

”Good baby, from now on, call me Mother Cheng.”

The adjacent male guest squatted down to be level with Tao Ti and smiled, ”You can call me Father Xu.”

King of Film Xu glanced deeply at Cheng Lu.

Tao Ti obediently nodded, ”Hello, Mother Cheng, hello, Father Xu, I am Tao Ti.”

”Taotie?” King of Film Xu joked, ”So, are you still a little Fierce Beast?”

Tao Ti thought about the dreams; it seemed she really could be considered a little Taotie.

She revealed a shy smile, ”You can also call me Little Taotie.”

War God seemed to like calling her that.

The temporarily formed family had to get their own dinner from the village down the mountain tonight.

The director suggested they could work for the villagers in exchange for food.

King of Film Xu did not heed the director’s advice but told Cheng Lu and Tao Ti confidently, ”I am very skilled at fishing, watch me catch a big fish for you to eat!”
