Chapter 195: Chapter 195: Trouble at the Collectibles Exhibition

”Why did they invite you?” Ye Xiu asked.

”You have so many diamond mines in the City of Asura, and the Su Family is one of the most powerful jewelry companies in the country. I previously sent someone to discuss collaborating on a diamond brand,” Qin Qing explained.

”Then does the Su Family know you’re the chairman of Zhulu Group?” Ye Xiu asked.

Qin Qing was startled. ”That’s right. How would the Su Family know I’m the chairman of Zhulu Group, let alone have my phone number?”

”As far as I know, Su Muqing of the Su Family and Luo Kun were university classmates. She pursued him back then,” Ye Xiu said.

”What does the Su Family inviting me to a collection exhibition have to do with Luo Kun?” Qin Qing was a little confused.

”Luo Kun is Mutou Bingyuan,” Ye Xiu stated.

Qin Qing’s pretty face paled. ”Are you saying tonight’s exhibition is a trap for me?”

”Whether it is or not, we’ll find out when we go,” Ye Xiu said.

”Alright!” Qin Qing nodded.

Just then, Gong Jin called. ”Sang Jing’s intelligence agents sent a report,” he said. ”A large group of Tiansha Association Ninja Warriors bought tickets for six o’clock flights to Xuanse. They’re heading to the various City Mansions where your enemies are located.”

Ye Xiu narrowed his eyes. I spent the whole afternoon wondering how Mutou Bingyuan would use the intelligence he got from Ming Yue. I never expected he would actually try to kill all of my enemies! This is meant to crush their spirits!

He asked, ”A friend comes from afar... What’s the next line?”

”They must be annihilated, no matter how far!” Gong Jin replied.

Ye Xiu hung up.

At that moment, Kuroki Suzu ran in, flustered. ”Something’s happened!”

”I already know,” Ye Xiu said.

Kuroki Suzu was taken aback. ”What do you know?”

”Mutou Bingyuan ordered the Tiansha Association to secretly kill everyone who framed me ten years ago. Am I right?” Ye Xiu asked.

HISS!

Kuroki Suzu sucked in a sharp breath. ”You have more than one undercover agent in the Tiansha Association?”

Ye Xiu nodded.

Kuroki Suzu was crestfallen. After getting the news, I rushed over nonstop to inform him, hoping to claim credit and a reward. But he already knew! All that excitement on the way here was for nothing!

”Stay for dinner tonight. Afterward, I’ll take you to the Su Family’s treasure exhibition,” Ye Xiu said.

”Okay! Okay!” Upon hearing this, Kuroki Suzu’s spirits immediately soared. Ye Xiu is inviting me to dinner! This clearly means he’s accepted me.

As one of the four great families of Jin Ye City, the Su Family’s jewelry company was a titan of the national industry. The collection exhibition they were hosting was impeccable in its scale, prestige, and class. This event hadn’t been arranged hastily; the Su Family had originally scheduled it for the next day. Tonight was merely a preview and opening ceremony, with invitations extended only to the celebrities and tycoons of Jin Ye City.

To put it bluntly, the wealthy were getting the first pick. If a well-known figure took a liking to a particular Treasure, the subsequent media coverage would make the main exhibition even more sensational.

When Mutou Bingyuan learned of this, he asked Su Muqing to help him teach Ye Xiu a lesson, and she readily agreed. Though nominally an exhibition of the Su Family’s private collection, it was actually a joint showing of their collection and products from their brand, Sophie Jewelry.

”Whoa, what a grand affair.” When Ye Xiu arrived at the exhibition hall with Qin Qing and Kuroki Suzu, he was shocked by the scene before him.

A brand-new red carpet stretched all the way to the entrance of the exhibition hall, flanked on both sides by a crowd of reporters from various media outlets. The invited guests, all dressed to the nines, walked the red carpet under a sea of spotlights. It was just like an awards ceremony.

”I told you to dress more formally. Who wears board shorts and flip-flops to a jewelry exhibition?” Qin Qing grumbled, her face dark.

Ye Xiu’s attire was indeed far too casual: a white T-shirt, beige shorts, flip-flops, and to top it off, a mask and sunglasses. He didn’t look like he was attending a jewelry exhibition; he looked like he was heading to the market to buy groceries.

”My clothes are all handcrafted by world-renowned designers. These shorts alone cost three million. Besides, we won’t be here long,” Ye Xiu said nonchalantly.

”Let’s just hope the reporters recognize high fashion. Otherwise, you can expect to be tomorrow’s headline,” Qin Qing said.

Ye Xiu scoffed. Headlines? What domestic media outlet would dare to expose me? Not unless they wanted to go out of business.

”Let’s go.” Ye Xiu took the lead.

Qin Qing and Kuroki Suzu exchanged a look and reluctantly followed.

”Hey, who are you?” a haughty voice called out from behind just as the three of them stepped onto the red carpet.

They stopped and turned around to see Su Muqing and Mutou Bingyuan approaching, both dressed in evening wear.

”I’m talking to you.” Su Muqing ignored Qin Qing and Kuroki Suzu, stepping right in front of Ye Xiu. ”Are your ears stuffed with cotton? Didn’t you hear me asking you a question?” she demanded rudely.

The commotion attracted the attention of the reporters lining the red carpet. Seeing Su Muqing, they swiveled their cameras toward the group, and the spotlights followed, illuminating Ye Xiu and his companions.

When the reporters and other guests on the red carpet saw what Ye Xiu was wearing, they were all utterly flabbergasted. Who was this guy? Showing up to the Su Family’s high-class collection exhibition in a T-shirt, shorts, a mask, and sunglasses?

”I’m here to attend the collection exhibition,” Ye Xiu said.

”You?” Su Muqing looked him up and down with a disdainful expression. ”Are you trying to insult the Su Family by dressing like this?”

”Who made the rule that you have to wear a Holy Garment to attend an exhibition?” Ye Xiu asked.

”You...” Su Muqing was momentarily speechless, then huffed, ”Fine. Since you claim you’re here for the exhibition, take out your phone and show me your electronic invitation.”

Qin Qing froze. The Su Family didn’t send me an electronic invitation!

Ye Xiu, however, wasn’t the least bit awkward. He had already anticipated that Su Muqing would give him trouble over the invitation. He asked, ”Can’t I attend without an invitation?”

”Of course not!” Su Muqing declared.

”Then goodbye.” Ye Xiu simply walked around Su Muqing and Mutou Bingyuan to leave.

At this, Su Muqing and Mutou Bingyuan were dumbfounded. According to their plan, when Su Muqing demanded to see the invitation, Ye Xiu was supposed to argue his case or reveal his identity. Then, they could publicly humiliate him in front of the media. But he just walked away!

”Stop!” Su Muqing blocked his path. ”I think you’re clearly here to cause trouble. Talk! What’s your scheme? If you don’t confess, I’m calling security.”

Mutou Bingyuan frowned. Su Muqing’s move just handed him the advantage. He was trying to leave, but she’s blocking him and pressing the issue. To the reporters and guests, this will make her look bossy and unreasonable.
