Medical and Martial God

Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Kuroki Suzu Goes Undercover Beside Ye Xiu

”You, you’re betraying the Tiansha Association?” Miyamoto Satoshi exclaimed in shock. The other Sang Jing Ninja Warriors couldn’t believe it either.

”I want to live!” Kuroki Suzu bellowed, accelerating the pace of her slaughter.

”You...” At this, Miyamoto Satoshi and all the surviving Ninja Warriors were certain that Kuroki Suzu was indeed betraying the Tiansha Association.

How could this happen? As a disciple of Yagyu Uemon, one of the Nine Snake Heads, Kuroki Suzu would at most be reprimanded for Mutou Bingyuan’s brutal death in Jin Ye City. The Nine Snake Heads would never actually kill her. She had absolutely no reason to betray them!

”Lady Kuroki Suzu, you need to calm down,” Miyamoto Satoshi shouted.

Kuroki Suzu turned a deaf ear.

However, unseen by all, as Kuroki Suzu rampaged through the darkness, tears poured down her face like rain.

These people were her compatriots! Among them were her own fellow disciples! She really didn’t want to kill them! But since Mutou Bingyuan had given the order, she could only obey. Moreover, she knew all too well that with their Martial Prowess crippled, they were useless to the Tiansha Association. Once they returned home, the Nine Snake Heads would undoubtedly execute them. Since their fate was sealed, it was better for them to die by her hand. At least this way, she could protect their families.

Soon, all one hundred Sang Jing Ninja Warriors were dead. Not one was spared.

”Miyamoto, with the Young Master brutally killed in Jin Ye City, returning home means certain death for us. Why not join Ye Xiu with me? What do you say?” Kuroki Suzu asked, walking toward him like a demon.

Miyamoto Satoshi was terrified. He said weakly, ”The Young Master’s death has nothing to do with me. The Nine Snake Heads won’t blame me, no matter what. I have no reason to betray them.”

”I can tell the Nine Snake Heads that you and Shui conspired to kill the Young Master,” Kuroki Suzu said.

Miyamoto Satoshi panicked. ”If you’re going to betray them, why drag me into it?”

”I would be all alone,” Kuroki Suzu replied.

Lonely my ass! Just because you’d be lonely, you have to drag me down with you? Miyamoto Satoshi fumed internally.

Despite his complaints, he dared not refuse. Kuroki Suzu was seeing red. If he said no, she could wipe him out in minutes.

”You’ve pursued the Medicine Path your whole life, but at your age, your Medical Skills are nowhere near the Ghost Doctor’s. If you join Ye Xiu, he can guide you. Your skills will improve by leaps and bounds,” Kuroki Suzu persuaded.

Miyamoto Satoshi paused, suddenly tempted.

It seemed joining Ye Xiu offered more benefits than staying with the Tiansha Association.

As this thought crossed his mind, he asked, ”Once we betray them, our families back in Sang Jing will surely be killed. Have you considered that?”

”While the Tiansha Association doesn’t know about our betrayal yet, we can call our families immediately and have them come to Jin Ye City overnight,” Kuroki Suzu said.

She felt she had no other choice. To successfully become Ye Xiu’s undercover agent, she had to go all in. If her family remained in Sang Jing, Ye Xiu would never trust her. Only when her family was under Ye Xiu’s control would he truly trust her.

”Alright. I’ll bet my future and my family’s on Ye Xiu,” Miyamoto Satoshi said, gritting his teeth.

Kuroki Suzu smiled.

With Miyamoto Satoshi by her side as a fellow undercover agent, she wouldn’t be alone anymore. Still, she would have to find a chance to ask the Young Master for permission to tell Miyamoto Satoshi the truth. Otherwise, if he genuinely defected to Ye Xiu, it would be a case of trying to steal a chicken only to lose the rice used as bait.

「The next morning.」

While Ye Xiu and Qin Qing were eating breakfast after their morning practice, Qing Luan suddenly called.

”You won’t be angry I’m calling so early, will you?” she asked.

Ye Xiu chuckled. ”Just tell me what’s on your mind.”

Qing Luan said, ”Everyone participating in the War God assessment has unanimously decided to move the venue to Jin Ye City.”

”What?” Ye Xiu exclaimed. ”No, you can’t let them come to Jin Ye City.”

Qing Luan replied, ”Last night, the Tiansha Association’s Nine Snake Heads went behind our backs and secretly made an arrangement with all the War God assessment participants. Unless you intervene personally, we can’t stop them.”

Ye Xiu’s eyes narrowed. Oh? So the Tiansha Association was behind this? The impostor Mutou Bingyuan just died, and now they’re inciting everyone to move the War God assessment to Jin Ye City. It would be strange if the two events weren’t connected. But what is their goal? He couldn’t figure it out.

”Since they want to come, let them,” he said.

”Understood,” Qing Luan replied.

Ye Xiu hung up. Just as he was about to resume his breakfast, Chloe walked in and said respectfully, ”Young Master, Kuroki Suzu and Miyamoto Satoshi are here with Mutou Bingyuan’s body.”

Ye Xiu was dumbfounded. What fresh hell is this?

He got up and went outside to see Kuroki Suzu and Miyamoto Satoshi kneeling at the door. Before them lay the corpse of the impostor Mutou Bingyuan.

”What brings you two here so early in the morning?” Ye Xiu asked with a smile, sitting down on the doorstep.

Kuroki Suzu looked straight at Ye Xiu, her heart inexplicably starting to race.

She had never expected Ye Xiu to be so handsome. When she remembered her master’s words—that Ye Xiu was her future husband—her thoughts suddenly fell into disarray.

Miyamoto Satoshi, on the other hand, almost cried out in shock upon seeing Ye Xiu.

He’d seen Ye Xiu before! He and Take Shitamura had been speeding at Saint He Medical College when they’d clipped An Dongye, and it was Ye Xiu who had stopped their car. Ye Xiu had even beaten Take Shitamura so badly that he was still in the hospital.

”Speak up!” Ye Xiu snapped, seeing them both staring at him.

”We have come to pledge our allegiance to you,” Kuroki Suzu said.

Ye Xiu narrowed his eyes. Oh? In an instant, all his questions were answered. So, Mutou Bingyuan had used an elaborate ruse, sending an impostor to die in Jin Ye City as a pretext to plant Kuroki Suzu by his side as an undercover agent. Meanwhile, the Tiansha Association moved the War God assessment to Jin Ye City to divert his attention and help Kuroki Suzu complete her mission.

Having pieced it all together, Ye Xiu feigned ignorance. ”Who are you?” he asked.

”I am Kuroki Suzu, a disciple of Yagyu Uemon, one of the Tiansha Association’s Nine Snake Heads. The man beside me is Miyamoto Satoshi, the Medicine King of Sang Jing,” she said, her posture low and her tone deferential.

”Well now, you two are major figures in Sang Jing. Why come all the way to Jin Ye City to join me?” Ye Xiu asked, playing dumb.

”You may not know this, but the man on the ground is Mutou Bingyuan, the only son of the Tiansha Association’s late leader. He was killed last night by a man with a rather generic-sounding name. Miyamoto Satoshi and I failed to protect him, so the Young Master died tragically in a foreign land. If we were to return home, we would face certain death. That is why we have come to serve you,” Kuroki Suzu said.

”How can I be sure you aren’t lying to me?” Ye Xiu asked.

”To prove our sincerity, I killed the 100 Ninja Warriors who accompanied Mutou Bingyuan last night. Furthermore, our families also arrived in Jin Ye City overnight,” Kuroki Suzu explained.

Ye Xiu’s eyes hardened. Kuroki Suzu and Miyamoto Satoshi were really willing to pay a steep price to infiltrate his circle.

He asked, ”Bring your families here.”

”They are just outside. I will go get them now.” Kuroki Suzu stood, bowed to Ye Xiu, and then ran outside.
