Medical and Martial God

Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Gun God Takes the Blame, Tampering with the Imperial Edict

”Holy shit!” An Dongye exclaimed, staring at Ye Xiu in shock. ”Little Bro, how did you do it? Yamamoto was a War God. How did you manage to snipe him?”

It wasn’t just An Dongye. At that moment, all the Great Grandmasters of the Tiansha Association inside Kangtai Hospital were looking at Yamamoto lying on the ground, bleeding from his heart, their faces filled with utter disbelief. It was a globally recognized fact that firearms couldn’t kill a War God. This wasn’t because a War God’s defensive power was so high, but because War Gods represented the limits of what humans could achieve. Their vision, taste, and all other senses were extraordinarily keen. A War God could sense the slightest hint of killing intent directed at them, accurately perceiving its direction and allowing them to evade in advance. Therefore, it was absolutely impossible for a sniper to kill a War God. Yet now, the War God, Yamamoto, had been sniped right before everyone’s eyes.

”It’s quite simple, really,” Ye Xiu said with a shrug. ”War Gods rely on sensing Killing Intent to evade danger. I didn’t release any, so Yamamoto couldn’t sense me, and I was able to snipe him.”

An Dongye looked at Ye Xiu, completely baffled. ”Killing Intent can be controlled?”

Killing Intent is an emotional release, an instinct. The moment you decide to kill, Killing Intent naturally arises. No matter how well you mask your expression, you cannot control your inner emotions, especially at the moment of the kill, when the Killing Intent is uncontrollable.

”Is that supposed to be hard?” Ye Xiu shrugged nonchalantly. ”If you think of your target as an apple, a stone, or any inanimate object, you naturally won’t generate any Killing Intent.”

”Ah?” An Dongye felt as if she had been struck by lightning, and in that instant, so many things became clear. Yes! Generating Killing Intent when you’re about to kill someone is an innate instinct; no one can control it. But if what you’re killing isn’t a living thing, you naturally won’t develop any Killing Intent.

”Little Bro, you’re too amazing! Such a simple principle, and out of billions of people in the world, you’re the only one who has figured it out.” An Dongye instantly turned into a fangirl, her face full of admiration.

Although Qin Qing didn’t understand the intricacies, seeing An Dongye’s adoring expression, she guessed that Ye Xiu had done something no one else could. She couldn’t help but think with admiration, My husband is just too remarkable!

”It sounds easy, but it’s difficult in practice,” Ye Xiu advised. ”If you want to kill someone, it’s very hard to truly see them as an object. You’d best get some practice in before you try.”

”No problem. I’ll start by practicing on the Tiansha Association’s Great Grandmasters,” An Dongye said.

”Mm,” Ye Xiu nodded, then turned to Qin Qing. ”Let’s go home.”

”Okay!” Having witnessed the power of Ye Xiu and An Dongye, Qin Qing was now eager to go home and practice her sword skills.

Meanwhile, Yagyu Uemon and his men had not gotten far from Kangtai Hospital on their way to settle the score with the Xuan Ming Sect.

Yagyu Uemon received a call from Inokuchi, his expression changing dramatically with shock. ”What? Yamamoto was sniped?”

Hearing this from the back seat, Sasaki immediately voiced his doubt. ”As one of the Tiansha Association’s nine great geniuses and as my disciple, Yamamoto was an assassin by trade. With my careful tutelage and the Tiansha Association’s secret arts, his strength was second only to the Nine Serpent Heads. Snipers can’t even kill ordinary War Gods, let alone Yamamoto.”

”It’s true,” Yagyu Uemon said gravely from the front passenger seat.

”But...” Sasaki still found it hard to believe. ”How is that possible? Besides Huang Quan, there’s no one in this world who can kill a War God one-on-one. Could it be...” As he spoke, a sudden thought struck him. ”Could it be Gun God Smith?”

”Is that possible?” Yagyu Uemon questioned. ”Gun God Smith failed nine consecutive assassination attempts on Huang Quan. Humiliated, he left the underworld and swore to never touch a gun again. Besides, he doesn’t have the power to snipe a War God.”

”He’s been gone from the underworld for six years,” Sasaki insisted stubbornly, convinced it had to be Gun God Smith. ”Who knows? In that time, his skills might have reached the point where he can snipe a War God, and now he’s making a comeback.”

”You have a point. Huang Quan is in Jin Ye City, so it wouldn’t be surprising for Gun God Smith to show up here.” Yagyu Uemon also began to suspect the Gun God, and his expression turned to one of fury. ”That bastard Smith! How dare he oppose our Tiansha Association? Does he have a death wish?”

”I will kill him with my own hands to avenge my disciple, Yamamoto!” Sasaki snarled, his voice thick with murderous intent.

”Revenge is a must, but the Gun God’s skills at concealment are first-class. We don’t have a foothold in Jin Ye City, so finding him will be extremely difficult,” Yagyu Uemon said.

Sasaki nearly choked on his rage. Knowing your enemy’s identity but being unable to find them—was there anything more frustrating in the world? He thought for a moment before suggesting, ”Gun God Smith has countless enemies. Among the tens of thousands of Martial Artists who’ve come to Jin Ye City, many of them bear a grudge against him. We can spread the news and have them help us find Smith!”

”That was my thought exactly,” Yagyu Uemon nodded. ”Tomorrow, when the War God assessment begins, we’ll announce it publicly. For now, let’s go settle our accounts with the Xuan Ming Sect.”

”I’m extremely angry right now. I’ll use the blood of those Xuan Ming Sect bastards to quench the rage in my heart!” Sasaki said viciously.

”Then we’ll kill every last one of Sam’s people!” Yagyu Uemon stated coldly.

Soon, they arrived at the Yue Lan Hotel. A simple inquiry at the front desk revealed which rooms Sam and his group were staying in.

However, when they arrived on the correct floor, brimming with killing intent, they found Qing Luan standing outside Sam’s room.

”Well, look who it is. Your timing is perfect; it saves me the trouble of finding you,” Qing Luan said with a chuckle.

”What do you want with us?” Yagyu Uemon asked coldly.

”I’m here on Huang Quan’s orders to give you your homework,” Qing Luan replied with a smile.

Upon hearing Huang Quan’s name, Yagyu Uemon and the others instantly tensed. But when they heard the words ”give you your homework,” they were all completely dumbfounded.

”What homework?” Yagyu Uemon asked.

Qing Luan took a stack of test papers from her bag, counted out 138 sheets, and handed them to Yagyu Uemon with a serious expression. ”Huang Quan has decreed that from this day forward, every foreign Martial Artist who enters Jin Ye City must complete one test paper daily. I will find professional teachers to grade them. For anyone who fails, there will be a fine of 10,000 Xuanse Currency for every point below the passing grade. Also, the papers aren’t free. You have to buy them. Each one costs 10,000 Xuanse Currency.”

Qing Luan was flagrantly altering the Imperial Edict! Ye Xiu had only instructed that all Martial Artists complete a test paper each day; he never said anything about grading them or fining those who failed. Furthermore, Ye Xiu had said each paper would cost 100 Xuanse Currency, but Qing Luan had just increased the price a hundredfold.

”What?” Hearing this, Yagyu Uemon and the others felt their hearts shatter instantly.
