Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Dragon Hollyhock Holds Qin Qing Hostage

Qin Qing, An Dongye, and Feng Wanli did not wait for Ye Xiu outside the Armory. Instead, they followed a staff member directly toward the hunting grounds.

Feng Wanli said awkwardly, ”Chairwoman Qin, heh heh... well, you know how men are. We like to boast a little, so please don’t take it to heart. I am absolutely sincere about wanting to collaborate with Zhulu Group and Divine Doctor Ye. When he arrives, could you just say that we’ve already reached an agreement in principle? Would that be alright?”

Qin Qing was exasperated. They had just escaped danger, yet all Feng Wanli could think about was business. It was unbelievable. She replied, ”Ye Xiu won’t agree.”

”Nothing is set in stone,” Feng Wanli insisted. ”A three-way partnership between the Feng Family, Zhulu Group, and Divine Doctor Ye would be a guaranteed success. There’s no reason for him to refuse.”

”You can talk to him yourself when he gets here,” Qin Qing said.

”I have no problem talking to him, but you need to agree to work with me first. That’s the only way I’ll have enough leverage to negotiate with him,” Feng Wanli said.

”I can’t agree to any collaboration without Ye Xiu’s approval,” Qin Qing stated.

”Why not?” Feng Wanli asked.

”Because she is Ye Xiu’s wife,” a chilling voice suddenly interjected.

”What?”

Feng Wanli’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. What a mess! Back in the Armory, I was so relieved that Ye Xiu didn’t know how much I’d been bragging to Qin Qing and Leng Yue on our way to Qiancheng Farm. But it turns out Qin Qing is his wife! She’s definitely going to tell him everything I said. I even offered to introduce him to her so she could have anything she wanted in Jin Ye City! Heh, he’s her husband. She hardly needs an introduction from me.

Thinking of all this, Feng Wanli desperately wished he could find a hole to crawl into and never come out again.

”Young Master Feng, hurry and get Ye Xiu! Quick...” Qin Qing urged in a low, anxious voice, her eyes fixed on the approaching Dragon Hollyhock.

Feng Wanli was stunned for a moment but, being smart, understood immediately. The grim expression and cold glint in Dragon Hollyhock’s eyes, coupled with Qin Qing’s own cautious demeanor, made it obvious that the newcomer was an enemy.

”Right, I’m on it!” Feng Wanli spun around and bolted in the direction of the Armory.

However, before he could get far, Dragon Hollyhock appeared before him like a ghost, blocking his path.

SMACK!

She slapped Feng Wanli so hard he passed out. She then sauntered mockingly toward Qin Qing. ”So, Ye Xiu is here too. That saves me the trouble of hunting him down after I capture you.”

As she spoke, she accelerated, charging straight at Qin Qing.

Dragon Hollyhock was ecstatic. After Kuroki Suzu fled back to Sang Jing, she had been worried about how to deal with Ye Xiu. She had come to Qiancheng Farm to vent her frustrations by killing a few animals, and now, she had unexpectedly run into Qin Qing! Ha! As long as she captured her, she could easily force Ye Xiu to surrender.

”Stop right there!” Qin Qing panicked as Dragon Hollyhock rushed her. She was not afraid to die, but she was terrified of being used to threaten Ye Xiu.

”You have no right to command me!” Dragon Hollyhock sneered, her right hand forming a claw as she lunged for Qin Qing’s throat.

”You want to grab my little brother’s wife? You’ll have to get through me first.” An Dongye flashed in front of Qin Qing, slamming a fierce punch into the palm of Dragon Hollyhock’s outstretched hand.

BOOM!

Dragon Hollyhock was caught completely off guard. She had not expected the tall, beautiful woman beside Qin Qing to be an expert, and since she had not used her full strength, An Dongye’s punch sent her stumbling back seven or eight steps, her entire right arm buzzing with numbness.

”Well, now. You’re quite the expert.” Seeing that her punch had only forced Dragon Hollyhock back, An Dongye felt a fierce battle lust ignite within her. She took the initiative and charged forward. ”Taste my Soul Chasing Leg Technique!”

An Dongye’s legs moved like Nie Feng’s legendary Wind God Leg, so fast that their movements were a blur. A fierce gale erupted around her, creating an aura that was entirely her own domain.

An Eighth Grade Grandmaster with the speed of a Great Grandmaster. What an impressive leg technique. Dragon Hollyhock was startled by the Soul Chasing Leg Technique. Caught within the swirling aura, she felt as if she were weathering a violent storm. If she were not so much stronger than An Dongye, she would have already fallen to those deadly legs.

The strongest fighter below the Great Grandmaster realm! An attack speed unmatched by anyone below the rank of War God! This was Dragon Hollyhock’s assessment of An Dongye.

Realizing her attacks were completely ineffective, An Dongye knew her opponent was much, much stronger. ”Sister-in-law, get out of here! She’s too strong! I can’t hold her off for long.”

”Run? Where can you run?” Dragon Hollyhock suddenly thrust both palms forward. A dragon-shaped wave of energy slammed into An Dongye with the force of a tidal wave.

PTHOO!

An Dongye was sent flying, landing at Qin Qing’s feet. She coughed up a violent mouthful of blood and collapsed weakly onto one knee, severely injured. Even so, she managed to shout, ”Sister-in-law, run! Run...”

Qin Qing did not move. ”We can’t escape,” she said, knowing it was pointless to waste energy on an impossible escape.

”At least you know your place.” Dragon Hollyhock sneered as she walked toward Qin Qing. ”Even Ye Xiu is no match for me. Capturing you is merely a convenience.”

Qin Qing and An Dongye were shocked. What? Ye Xiu could not defeat Dragon Hollyhock? In that instant, both of them began to hope that Ye Xiu would not come.

”You think you can use me to threaten Ye Xiu? Dream on!” Steeling herself, Qin Qing swung her sword at her own neck in a clean, decisive motion. She would rather die than become a burden to Ye Xiu.

However, before the blade could touch her skin, it stopped dead. Qin Qing realized that Dragon Hollyhock had appeared in front of her at some point, her right hand pinching the very tip of the sword.

Seeing this, Qin Qing immediately tried to bite her own tongue. But Dragon Hollyhock tapped a point on her body, and her jaw froze, refusing to obey her command. My acupoints are sealed!

”Don’t waste your energy. Even if you die, I can still use your corpse to threaten Ye Xiu,” Dragon Hollyhock said coldly, releasing the acupoint seal.

Qin Qing did not try to kill herself again. If Dragon Hollyhock could use her body to threaten Ye Xiu, perhaps by dismembering it, he would surely surrender. There was no point.

”That’s a good girl.” Dragon Hollyhock smiled, then suddenly kicked An Dongye three meters away. ”Go get Ye Xiu,” she commanded.

”My injuries are too severe. I can’t get up,” An Dongye said, lying sprawled on the ground as if she were half-dead. In truth, she could still move, but she refused to lead Ye Xiu to his death.

”You! Go get Ye Xiu!” Dragon Hollyhock ordered Feng Wanli, who was just regaining consciousness.

”Where is he?” Feng Wanli asked groggily.

”How should I know?” Dragon Hollyhock snapped.

”Are you dense? How am I supposed to find him if you don’t tell me where he is?” Feng Wanli cursed.

”You...” Fuming, Dragon Hollyhock took a deep breath, then grabbed Qin Qing by the neck. ”Tell me where Ye Xiu is, or I’ll kill both of them.”

”He’s here,” Qin Qing said, her voice like ice.

Dragon Hollyhock turned to see Ye Xiu walking toward them at a steady pace, a bow in his hand and a quiver of arrows on his back. She immediately snatched the sword from Qin Qing and pressed it to her throat. ”I’ve taken Qin Qing hostage,” she said to Ye Xiu. ”I bet you’re very surprised, aren’t you?”

”Dragon Hollyhock, do you realize you’re courting death?” Ye Xiu roared. ”Let Qin Qing go, and I’ll pretend today never happened. Don’t force me to kill you.”

Ye Xiu was furious. He had spared Dragon Hollyhock only to lure more members of the Long Family to their deaths. But now that she had taken Qin Qing hostage, he had no choice but to kill her.

”Kill me? Hahahaha!” Dragon Hollyhock burst out laughing. ”Ye Xiu,” she scoffed, ”I know you’re a Great Grandmaster, but do you really think that makes you invincible?”

”So, you’re determined to die today?” Ye Xiu demanded, his voice dangerously low.

”We’ll see who’s the one dying,” Dragon Hollyhock retorted, pressing the sword against Qin Qing’s neck. ”Sever your own left arm and cripple your cultivation. Do that, and I might spare you and Qin Qing. Otherwise, none of you are leaving here alive today.”

”Don’t do it!” Qin Qing screamed. ”Ye Xiu, don’t worry about me! Just go! You haven’t gotten your revenge yet! Go!”
