Medical and Martial God

Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Stand Still and Let You Hit

It was a multiple-choice question.

Option A: Cure Gu Xuesheng and the fifteen others, pay 2.4 billion in compensation, and chop off his own hands.

Option B: Die.

There were only two options, and everyone present believed that as long as Ye Xiu wasn’t a fool, he would definitely choose A. Even though it would leave him crippled, a wretched life was better than a noble death.

”Hurry up and choose!” Gu Songwei urged.

Ye Xiu ignored him. He calmly took a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, pulled one out, and lit it. Taking a deep drag, he spoke to Niu Tianci.

”Old Niu, I gave you a chance. You’re the one who didn’t take it.”

Niu Tianci was taken aback. ”What do you mean by that?”

The others were just as confused.

”Make your move,” Ye Xiu said, his face devoid of expression. ”Use your full strength, because you only get one chance to attack, and only one move.”

At these words, Niu Tianci’s expression changed. So did the expressions of Gu Songwei, the families of the fourteen rich kids, and the disciples from the Benlei Sect that Niu Tianci had brought with him. Even Tian Ye and Di Shanxiong looked on in disbelief.

”You choose death?” Niu Tianci asked, incredulous.

”I choose to kill you,” Ye Xiu replied.

The entire crowd was flabbergasted. Then, they all started laughing.

Gu Songwei mocked him, ”Ye Xiu, are you scared senseless or just sick of living? You’re a twenty-six-year-old, a worthless little bug who doesn’t even weigh two ounces. You think learning a bit of martial arts gives you the right to challenge Sect Master Niu? He’s an Eighth Grade Grandmaster! He could crush you with ease.”

”It seems you have no idea what the ranks of martial artists mean, Ye Xiu. Allow me to give you a clear understanding of just how weak you really are.” Niu Tianci’s face was flushed with laughter as he waved a hand toward his disciples. ”Li Haiming, come here and show Ye Xiu what a true expert looks like.”

”Yes, Master!”

The young man called Li Haiming stepped forward, looking down at Ye Xiu with contempt. ”Ye Xiu, you are far too arrogant. You aren’t even qualified to challenge my master. You’ll have to get through me first.”

Ye Xiu chuckled. ”The people who have died by my hand were all ignorant and arrogant. You’re no exception. Go on, make your move.”

”You’re courting death!” Enraged at being called ignorant and arrogant, Li Haiming’s right fist shot out like a clap of thunder, aiming straight for Ye Xiu’s chest.

It was the Thunderous Fist. The punch carried the sound of thunder and was as swift as a lightning bolt. Anyone struck by it would feel the searing pain of being electrocuted. It was considered a top-tier martial art.

Niu Tianci watched the scene unfold with a smirk. In his eyes, this single punch from Li Haiming would be enough to severely injure Ye Xiu. Li Haiming thought so, too. He didn’t use his full strength, afraid he might accidentally kill Ye Xiu. After all, if Ye Xiu died, they wouldn’t get the compensation money. However...

BANG!

The fist struck Ye Xiu squarely in the chest. From start to finish, Ye Xiu stood his ground, not moving an inch, the cigarette still dangling from his lips. The heavy, powerful punch landed on his chest as if it had struck a massive boulder, failing to move him in the slightest.

”Kid, your Thunderous Fist isn’t quite there yet,” Ye Xiu said disdainfully.

The crowd erupted in an uproar, utterly shocked. Ye Xiu had taken Li Haiming’s punch head-on without a scratch, without even budging. Even if Li Haiming hadn’t used his full power, this outcome was impossible.

”Li Haiming, use your full strength!” Niu Tianci commanded in a low voice.

Li Haiming didn’t need the reminder. He had already made a show of his power in front of everyone, only to fail to even budge Ye Xiu and get mocked for it.

What a tremendous disgrace!

He had to achieve something with the next punch, or he would lose face completely. And so, with this next punch, Li Haiming used his full strength!

BANG!

It was the same punch and the same posture, and it had the same effect: Ye Xiu remained completely still.

”You...” Li Haiming’s expression twisted into one of utter shock. That punch had been his full power, yet it still hadn’t managed to shake Ye Xiu.

Clearly, Ye Xiu was stronger than him. Much stronger. Otherwise, it would be impossible to take a full-force blow without even flinching.

The mocking smiles on the faces of Niu Tianci and the others finally vanished, replaced by solemn expressions. Especially Niu Tianci. He realized he had underestimated Ye Xiu.

Li Haiming was a Fourth Grade martial artist. A full-power punch from him would injure even a Fifth Grade martial artist who tried to block it head-on. Yet, Ye Xiu was unharmed.

Clearly, Ye Xiu’s strength was at least at the Sixth Grade.

”You should step up yourself. Trash like Li Haiming isn’t even worth my time to kill.” Ye Xiu slapped Li Haiming, sending him flying, then stared coldly at Niu Tianci.

”It seems I’ve underestimated you. But do you really think you can contend with an Eighth Grade Grandmaster like me?” Niu Tianci said with disdain.

”Why don’t we find out?” Ye Xiu took a drag from his cigarette, exhaling a perfect smoke ring that drifted toward Niu Tianci—a clear provocation.

Niu Tianci was enraged. ”Since you’re courting death, I’ll grant your wish!”

With that, he flashed in front of Ye Xiu and landed a thunderous punch on his chest. Gu Songwei and the others watched expectantly, waiting to see Ye Xiu get sent flying while coughing up blood. Niu Tianci expected the same.

However, Ye Xiu still didn’t move.

”Is that your full strength?” Ye Xiu asked.

Niu Tianci answered with another punch, this time truly at full power. With his previous strike, he had held back, genuinely afraid he might kill Ye Xiu. But when that punch failed to budge him, he had no choice but to go all out.

”Not bad,” Ye Xiu commented. ”The Thunderous Fist is a fine technique. It’s a shame its true power is wasted in your hands.”

Niu Tianci was dumbfounded. His face instantly turned ashen, his eyes filled with shock and panic.

I’m an Eighth Grade Grandmaster! A real one, not some pseudo-Grandmaster! My full-power punch should injure even a Pseudo Grandmaster, yet Ye Xiu is unharmed! What does this mean? It means Ye Xiu’s strength is at least that of a Great Grandmaster! Heavens! I just came here to show off and make some quick cash, and I ended up picking a fight with someone way out of my league?

Ye Xiu tossed his cigarette butt to the ground as a terrifying killing intent erupted from him. ”I told you before that you’d have one chance, one move. You’ve already taken two, so I’ve been more than generous,” he said, his voice turning cold. ”So, are you prepared for death?”

”Wait!” Niu Tianci cried out in terror. ”Ye Xiu, I am the Sect Master of the Flowing Cloud Benlei Sect! If you kill me, you’ll be starting a war between the Jin Ye City Ancient Martial Circle and the Flowing Cloud Ancient Martial Circle! You know the strength of the Jin Ye City Ancient Martial Circle. Once war breaks out, it won’t even take a day for the martial artists of Jin Ye City to be slaughtered by the martial artists from Flowing Cloud!”

”Still daring to threaten me at a time like this,” Ye Xiu snorted, then raised his voice. ”Sang Qiuyu, come here.”

His words were baffling, leaving Niu Tianci and the others completely confused as to who he was speaking to.

The next moment, however, they saw a tall, beautiful woman accompanied by a group of soldiers emerge from Qiancheng Farm.

”Instructor, what are your orders?” Sang Qiuyu asked.

”Tell Sect Master Niu who you are,” Ye Xiu said.

”Yes, sir!” Sang Qiuyu took out her identification and presented it to Niu Tianci. ”I am Sang Qiuyu, Commander of the Eastern Red Flame Army.”
