Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 843, Remaining at the Front Line

Lu Fan speculated that although Xiao Ye possessed a Human body, the matter of her Profession Change was determined by her own innate talent.

Xiao Ye was, after all, a Dragon. Despite her exterior, she possessed the potential of a Dragon King.

Just what kind of terrifying Hidden Profession would someone with the strength of a Dragon King get?

One could imagine it well enough.

In other words, Xiao Ye’s potential had already exceeded the boundaries of what a Human should possess. Therefore, when Xiao Ye underwent her Profession Change at an ordinary Profession Change Array, the Array would inevitably be unable to withstand it.

By the same logic, when the other Pet Dragons underwent their Profession Changes, there would be similar results…

This meant that every time a Pet Dragon had their Profession Changed, one Profession Change Array would inevitably get destroyed.

Lu Fan would naturally also have to bear ninety-nine percent of the responsibility for the destruction. Moreover, this First Profession Change Array was the only one at the Far North frontlines. In short, the trouble Lu Fan had caused was not insignificant.

Compensation from him was only proper.

The Squad Leader was taken aback, then scratched his head and laughed. “Lord Spark, what are you saying? That Profession Change Array was destroyed because it was too hastily constructed and not sturdy enough. That you and your Daughter… err… Sister… erm… anyway, this Young Lady not getting injured in this incident is already a fortunate thing for us.”

“We should also bear part of the responsibility for this. We’re already very grateful that you haven’t held us accountable for our negligence. How could we possibly make you compensate for the loss of this Profession Change Array? We’ll report this matter later and have them approve funding to construct another one. Also, since this Young Lady has already successfully undergone her Profession Change. You can take her and leave first. We’ll handle things here.”

Lu Fan opened his mouth, about to say something, but in the end chose not to speak.

If he wanted to compensate for the loss of this Profession Change Array. However, Jin Zhan and the others probably wouldn’t agree to it.

The cost to construct a First Profession Change Array was merely tens of millions of coins. It sounded like a lot, since it was money that many Families couldn’t spend in a lifetime. But in reality, this sum was nothing much to Lu Fan or Jin Zhan.

So, Lu Fan did not act pretentious. He nodded and said. “Alright then, I’ll trouble you with this.”

“You’re too polite!” The Squad Leader quickly waved his hands and smiled honestly.

Afterwards, Lu Fan took his leave.

Originally, Lu Fan had wanted to find another place with a Profession Change Array, so that his other Pet Dragons could also have their Profession Change Ceremony.

However, it should be said that though Profession Change Arrays were not particularly scarce—all major cities and schools should have them, he still had to travel around for them. Still, as long as he went to a nearby city, or returned to Dragon Capital through Shadow Isle to have all his Pet Dragons sequentially undergo their Profession Change, there wouldn’t be much of a problem.

However, after thinking it over, Lu Fan felt there was no need to be so hasty.

Because for his Pet Dragons, having a Profession was inherently a matter of placing icing on the cake. Even without a Profession, they were already powerful.

On the contrary, destroying a Profession Change Array each time was truly embarrassing for him to deal with.

A Profession Change Array was not much to Lu Fan, but to the schools and organisations, it was a valuable item.

Going there and directly breaking it for them would be hard to justify no matter what. Even compensating their full value would mean he would still owe them a favour. After all, constructing a Profession Change Array also required time.

Rather than owing so many favours, it would be better to owe just one.

Therefore, Lu Fan turned back and returned to the hospital, finding Tu Jing. He asked Tu Jing to help him out, using his authority to have people construct six more Profession Change Arrays here for his Pet Dragons.

Lu Fan also explained clearly that the Profession Change Arrays would be destroyed, informing Tu Jing that they were one-time consumables. After he used them, others wouldn’t be able to use them anymore.

After Tu Jing learned the ins and outs of the matter, he laughed heartily, saying that as long as Lu Fan needed them, so be it!.

Since Lu Fan was Dragon Country’s Spark, Dragon Country would spare no effort in cultivating him. A few Profession Change Arrays? How could Dragon Country not be able to afford them!?

Never mind one Profession Change Array, which only costs around ten million, even if each cost a billion, as long as Lu Fan needed it, Dragon Country would surely get it for him!

However, Profession Change Arrays weren’t something that could be constructed overnight.

For Lu Fan to gather six Profession Change Arrays, plus one that needed to be reconstructed in the Far North for others to use, that was seven in total.

Collecting materials for constructing seven Profession Change Arrays, plus the workload, would take about three days at least. After all, the frontlines were in the thick of battle, so there wouldn’t be many personnel who could be spared.

Lu Fan had no objections, because he was not in a hurry to have his Pet Dragons obtain Professions.

What Lu Fan needed to do next was relatively simple.

First, wait for Elder Jin and Jin Zhan to make their move and cooperate with other countries to see if they could find any unawakened Ancient Gods.

Second, wait for the Profession Change Arrays to be constructed, then have his Pet Dragons undergo their Profession Change one by one.

For the time being, Lu Fan did not need to go elsewhere. He only needed to stay in the Far North and wait for the news.

Of course, Lu Fan could also travel throughout Dragon Country, or other countries, searching for possible Ancient God hiding places.

He himself possessed a Divine Seat. As long as there was an Ancient God nearby, he would be able to sense it.

However, this was no different from searching for a needle in the haystack. This world was so vast, and although there were quite a few Ancient Gods, there were only about thirty or so.

They were hidden throughout various places in the world. How could they be so easy to find?

If it were truly that easy, the two Ancient Gods of Fallen Corpse and Holy Mountain would have long since set out personally to find the other Ancient Gods and devour them.

Searching for Ancient Gods could only be accomplished by mobilising the power of the masses.

And so, what Lu Fan needed to do next became simple. He only needed to remain in the Far North and use this natural Levelling Up sanctuary to raise his own Level, as well as that of the new Heavenfall Mage, Xiao Ye.

He could now raise his Level by killing Monsters. As long as his Level increased, his other Pet Dragons could also continue to Level Up.

Levelling Up here was undoubtedly the best choice.

Having made up his mind, Lu Fan once again bade farewell to Tu Jing and headed to the front line, planning to start grinding Monsters to Level.

When he arrived at the city walls, he could see that the front line was still the same as before, with Monsters constantly swarming out, wanting to destroy the walls and invade Dragon Country.

At many of the outposts built outside, soldiers and volunteers were locked in fierce combat with the Monsters. The scene was extremely tragic.

Such a vast number of Monsters represented both danger and resources.

Lu Fan had originally wanted to start grinding Monsters directly, but after thinking it over, he first summoned Xiao Ye in her Human Form.
