Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 832, Seizing Life Force to Level Up

And so, what followed became relatively straightforward.

First, Lu Fan needed to Level Up.

Although he was strong, fundamentally he was only Level 90.

To truly confront awakened Ancient Gods, especially the High Tier ones, he would need to at least undergo his Sixth Profession Change, or even reach the Seventh Profession Change that Ouyang Bai Ge had mentioned.

It seemed that Seventh Profession Change represented this world’s absolute ceiling of power. Even Ancient Gods couldn’t surpass this limit.

Once he reached that ceiling, Lu Fan was confident he could defeat anyone at the same Level, even if his opponent was an Ancient God.

Fifth Profession Change allowed one to grasp a thread about Mechanics Level.

After Sixth Profession Change, one could be crowned as a Divine Being. They would be an absolute supreme existence in this world, completely mastering the Mechanics Level and crushing all enemies below the Fifth Profession.

And Seventh Profession Change should represent the world’s ultimate peak. Beyond the Seventh Profession, no further Levels were known to exist.

This was also the Ancient Gods’ limit.

Ordinary beings could perhaps reach Sixth Profession at most, becoming Divine Being. Only Ancient Gods could reach their Seventh Profession.

The Ancient Gods Struggle for Supremacy could influence this world’s rules and Mechanics Level. It was perfectly reasonable that Ancient Gods possessed greater potential.

Lu Fan estimated that if he couldn’t become an Ancient God, then at most, he would be able to only reach his Sixth Profession.

Even with Divine Beings at their Sixth Profession, compared to Ancient Gods, still fall drastically short.

After all, even Divine Beings only controlled power already established by the Ancient Gods. They were ultimately still existences that were beneath them.

Attempting to defeat Ancient Gods using the Mechanics Level they had set was fundamentally impossible.

To defeat Ancient Gods, one could only become an Ancient God.

Of course, this only applied after the Ancient Gods fully awakened. Before awakening, the Ancient Gods were not as terrifying.

At least currently, Lu Fan had already slain two Ancient Gods: the Divine Bone Ancient God and the Abyssal Ancient God.

This made Lu Fan realize another task he needed to undertake, which was before the Ancient Gods fully awakened, while their strength remained manageable, he must eliminate as many of them as possible.

Each Ancient God killed now meant one less calamity this world would have to face later on.

Currently, two Ancient Gods had been slain, and Ouyang Bai Ge stood on Lu Fan’s side. She couldn’t be counted as an enemy.

Calculating this way, Lu Fan still needed to kill thirty-three Ancient Gods to resolve this era’s crisis.

[Thirty-three Ancient Gods…] just thinking about it made Lu Fan’s head throb.

But there was no alternative. Lu Fan refused to simply lie down and wait for all Ancient Gods to awaken and overturn this world.

Especially now that he himself had become an Ancient God.

Anyone else could surrender but not him. If he failed, he could only watch helplessly as his relatives and friends were killed one by one, buried in the era’s upheaval.

Meanwhile, he would have to endure that agony while living on endlessly.

This was not the outcome Lu Fan wanted to see.

Therefore, he hoped even more than Ouyang Bai Ge that all the Ancient Gods got killed and the Ancient Gods Struggle for Supremacy in this era ended.

“From here on, Level Up properly!” Ouyang Bai Ge spoke at this moment. “Within the Profession Change Array I’ve drawn for you, I’ve embedded some Ancient God power, allowing you to prematurely acquire certain Ancient God abilities. For example, the ability to absorb Life Force from beings in this world.”

“Using terminology you can understand more intuitively, you can gain strength by killing others in this world. In other words, you can continue Levelling Up through killing Monsters.”

“Of course, if you can slay Ancient Gods, the Life Force you obtain will be far greater, and your Level Up and strength would dramatically accelerate.”

“This ability should normally only awaken after your Fifth Profession Change, but I’ve helped you awaken it prematurely. I believe this should be of tremendous help. Otherwise, Levelling Up through human methods, you’d be stuck at your Fourth Profession for far too long. This was even after considering your exceptional talent and skills.”

Lu Fan nodded, understanding Ouyang Bai Ge’s meaning.

Originally, he was worried that after his Fourth Profession Change, his Levelling Speed primarily manifested through comprehending and understanding his own Profession.

Although his talent was exceptional, wanting to calmly settle down and comprehend his Profession Characteristics to Level Up would really be extremely difficult.

Reaching Level 120 for Fifth Profession Change would probably take several years at least, wouldn’t it?

By then, Ancient Gods would have emerged. Even if he was also an Ancient God, what could he use to fight them?

But now, being able to gain Experience Points by hunting others, even Ancient Gods, and continue Levelling Up, this was an enormous boon.

Nothing else mattered. Just the Extremely Far North Ice Plains alone contained countless Life Force waiting for him to harvest.

Reaching Level 100 within a week probably wouldn’t be difficult.

If lucky enough to slay some powerful Ancient Gods, his Level would skyrocket even faster, wouldn’t it?

Thinking this, Lu Fan clasped his hands respectfully toward Ouyang Bai Ge. “Thank you, Senior.”

“I wonder what your plans are going forward? How will you implement the plan to oppose the Ancient Gods?”

Ouyang Bai Ge’s expression carried a trace of guilt. “There’s not much I can do, I can only raise my own strength as much as possible and perfect my awakening. But My Divine Seat is only at Mid Tier. Currently, my strength doesn’t hold any advantages. So, the entire plan must rely heavily on you. Once my degree of awakening advances further, I’ll naturally emerge to confront the Ancient Gods.”

“But given my strength, I fear opposing two Low Tier Ancient Gods, or one Mid Tier Ancient God, is my absolute limit. As for High Tier Ancient Gods, I can hardly match them.”

“You’re different though. Your current strength already surpasses unawakened Mid Tier Ancient Gods. Through the use of your new power, you can roughly locate some Ancient Gods’ hiding places. Go slay them and transfer their Ancient God Divine Seats to someone else, strengthening our forces.”

“In short, do everything possible to strip the original Ancient Gods of their Divine Seats, making them completely disappear. This way, during the final Ancient Gods Struggle for Supremacy, we’ll face fewer enemies.” Pausing briefly, Ouyang Bai Ge continued, “I know some High Tier Ancient Gods, like the Fallen Corpse Ancient God and Holy Mountain Ancient God, have reached an extremely high degree of awakening. Although they haven’t emerged yet, with your current strength, you’d struggle to defeat them. So don’t provoke these High Tier Ancient Gods right now. At least with your current strength, you would just be throwing your life away.”

“Wait until you’ve devoured enough Ancient Gods and reached a higher Level. Then, perhaps you can find them for a proper confrontation. Otherwise… everything waits until the Ancient Gods Struggle for Supremacy, when you and I together will wage final battle against these Ancient Gods!”
