Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 810, Abyssal Ancient God

Translator: Silavin

Originally, Lu Fan simply thought he had not travelled far enough.

If this Secret Realm truly had no directional distinctions, only varying by distance, then by continuing forward, he would eventually find the Secret Realm’s Final Boss.

But after three consecutive hours, with nothing ahead and no changes in Monster Levels, Lu Fan could not help but harbour some doubt. [Maybe Clearing this Secret Realm isn’t that straightforward?]

He seemed to have entered a circular trap. Without identifying the correct direction and escaping this strange loop, he would never locate the true Final Boss and Clear the Secret Realm.

Yet the so-called direction simply did not exist in this Secret Realm. How could he break this deadlock?

Around him, tentacles continuously appeared out of nowhere, only to be eliminated by his Pet Dragons.

Though these tentacles were powerful, with so many Pet Dragons protecting him, they couldn’t harm Lu Fan at all.

Lu Fan simply ignored them entirely, sitting directly on the ground to contemplate what had gone wrong, why he couldn’t locate the Secret Realm’s Final Boss.

The surrounding tentacles, for ordinary Players, possessed strength close to Divine Beings. Countless experts had come to investigate this Secret Realm, only to be directly slapped to death by these tentacles.

Yet now, these tentacles were like empty air to Lu Fan.

Had anyone witnessed this scene, they would undoubtedly have been profoundly shocked.

“Something’s wrong. This can’t be the Secret Realm!” Lu Fan suddenly realised the anomaly, abruptly standing up with resolute eyes, muttering to himself. “I must have been deceived. Even if this Secret Realm has Special Characteristics, there must be a method to Clear it.”

“If I’m unable to escape, then it would suggest the ‘direction’ I took was wrong. The ‘direction’ is not something like North and South. Rather, it is deeper. Dimensionally different, like a separate space!”

Having clarified his thinking, Lu Fan beckoned to Xing Chen. “Xing Chen, use Starry Space Passage. Treat this place as a normal Secret Realm and open a passage to leave this place. Try and see if you can reach the outside world.”

Though Xing Chen still held a rebellious attitude towards Lu Fan as always, she had never disobeyed his commands.

After Lu Fan issued the order, she indeed activated her Starry Space Passage, opening a passage to exit this Secret Realm.

Lu Fan did not hesitate, directly stepping through.

Theoretically, the other end of this Starry Space Passage should lead to the Abyssal Rift.

If Lu Fan emerged at the Abyssal Rift, it would prove his hypothesis wrong, wasting one opportunity to enter the tenth Secret Realm.

To obtain the materials he needs, he would have to wait for the next refresh.

Then, Lu Fan wouldn’t attempt this again—and leave unfinished. He would instead learn from his mistake, walking straight along one path to see if the Secret Realm had an endpoint. He truly wanted to see if the Final Boss was waiting at the Secret Realm’s endpoint.

If he left through Starry Space Passage and did not arrive at the Abyssal Rift, it would confirm Lu Fan’s hypothesis was right.

If he had continued advancing through the Secret Realm, he would never find the method to Clear it in this lifetime, because from beginning to end, he would only circle the same location, never finding the true ‘direction’.

Passing through the Starry Space Passage Transport Array, Lu Fan felt a pulling sensation.

Immediately after, he stepped onto a new Map.

Lu Fan surveyed his surroundings and his heart trembled violently. [Damn it! I’ve really been deceived this whole time!]

At this moment, he stood within an enormous temple.

Every brick and tile of the temple was exceptionally ancient and weathered, having clearly endured countless years.

The temple was particularly spacious. But at the temple’s very centre, directly before Lu Fan, floated a massive crystal sphere suspended in mid-air.

Inside the crystal sphere was complete chaos. Lu Fan narrowed his eyes slightly, able to see that the scene within was identical to the Secret Realm he had been trapped in!

Simultaneously, outside the crystal sphere, several tentacles extended from the distance, penetrating into the crystal sphere.

Presumably when Lu Fan was in the Secret Realm, blocked and assaulted by countless tentacles, the source was precisely these tentacles invading into the crystal sphere.

Following these tentacles towards the distance, Lu Fan saw at the temple’s deepest point an immensely large platform.

Upon the platform sat a mass of green flesh, composed of countless tentacles. They were currently coiled together, tightly wound around the platform.

From this massive flesh sphere’s body extended several tentacles. Some penetrate the crystal sphere, others spreading out, continuously coiling and writhing across the platform, making one’s scalp tingle at the sight.

Lu Fan had never encountered this type of Monster before. Seeing it, he could not help but furrow his brow, feeling uncomfortable.

But regardless, Lu Fan could now confirm his hypothesis was right.

[This is the real Secret Realm! The chaotic world I’ve been wasting time in has just been the space within that crystal sphere!]

This crystal sphere resembled an Illusion Array. Lu Fan had no idea how it had managed to capture him the moment he entered the Secret Realm without his knowledge.

One could imagine that if he had not possessed the Starry Space Passage Skill, he would likely have been trapped within the crystal sphere forever, never reaching the true Secret Realm.

At most, if he was fortunate, he could only retrace his steps and exit the Secret Realm.

But Clearing the Secret Realm would be impossible, because no matter how he walked, he could never escape that crystal sphere.

But having used Starry Space Passage to exit the crystal sphere, he had finally escaped and was no longer ‘lost’.

The mass of tentacles coiled into a flesh sphere on that distant platform was undoubtedly this Secret Realm’s Final Boss.

[This makes things a lot easier!]

Though Lu Fan knew Appraisal would likely be ineffective due to excessive Level difference, he still cast Appraisal on the creature, checking if he could discern its Level and name.

Remarkably, Appraisal did provide an exceptionally crucial piece of information.

And this information made Lu Fan’s entire body shudder.
