Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 809, The Anomaly of the Tenth Secret Realm

The shift in Ning Shuang’er’s attitude not only failed to make Lu Fan feel any sense of relief but instead made him even more apprehensive.

[If that woman has truly fallen for me, that would be an absolute disaster!]

Lu Fan maintained his stance. He was not lacking in terms of beautiful women around him. There was Ye Wuxian, Qin Qiu, Jian Ying, Tao Xiaoman. Each one was an exceptional beauty. Even his Aunt, Han Ke, possessed the temperament and appearance of a great beauty with perfect wifely virtues.

Lu Fan would have to be utterly mad to harbour any thoughts about Ning Shuang’er.

The critical problem was this, if Ning Shuang’er’s judgement was impaired and she genuinely fell for him, handling the situation would become exponentially more difficult.

For Lu Fan, gaining another lover was far worse than gaining another enemy.

[Damn it! Forget about her! It’s all her own delusions anyway! I can’t take her seriously!] Having reached this conclusion, Lu Fan vigorously shook his head, pushing Ning Shuang’er’s matter aside, refusing to waste mental energy on such trivial complications.

After experiencing a pulling sensation, Lu Fan finally set foot in the tenth Secret Realm.

Looking up, Lu Fan discovered that this tenth Secret Realm was indeed exactly as Cui Ziyi had described.

According to Cui Ziyi, this tenth Secret Realm was Special. The other nine Secret Realms would refresh after certain intervals.

But the tenth Secret Realm was different. Perhaps because no one had ever Cleared this Secret Realm, it had remained unchanged all this time.

The tenth Secret Realm was truly peculiar. It was just a chaotic space with no visible landscape. It seemed walking in any direction would be perfectly acceptable.

And regardless of which direction one travelled, the Monsters encountered were identical. Some had even hypothesised that this Secret Realm was so Special that it had no directional distinctions whatsoever, that walking in any direction meant travelling in the same direction.

Opening the Mission Panel revealed only that this Secret Realm was called the Old Ruins, with no additional hints provided.

The Map was completely dark.

The Secret Realm Mission was displayed as ‘???’.

If this world was the product of a game invading reality, then this Secret Realm resembled a game bug. Everywhere displaying such abnormality.

Had Lu Fan known absolutely nothing about this Secret Realm, he would undoubtedly have questioned what secrets it concealed.

However, he had already learned some information about this Secret Realm from Cui Ziyi, so facing its strangeness, he remained a lot calmer.

This Secret Realm had no Map. One could walk in any direction. The further one travelled, the stronger the Monsters one would encounter.

But exactly how powerful the Monsters lurking within this Secret Realm were remained unclear to everyone. After all, no one had yet encountered the Secret Realm’s most powerful Monster.

After some consideration, Lu Fan decided against being overly presumptuous. Since no one else was present, he need not worry about exposing too much of his capabilities.

He directly summoned all his Pet Dragons to accompany him. Simultaneously, he prepared to have Xing Chen immediately activate her Starry Space Passage Skill at any moment, only then leading his Pet Dragons forward.

Surrounding them was nothing but boundless chaos. Lu Fan could not even perceive how far he had actually travelled.

This place seemed devoid of concepts like time and space. This sense of isolation from the world was profoundly uncomfortable.

Fortunately, after walking for a short while, Lu Fan finally encountered this Secret Realm’s ‘friends’ coming to greet him.

These ‘friends’ naturally referred to the Monsters within the Secret Realm.

However, the Monsters in this Secret Realm were remarkably strange.

They appeared out of nowhere as enormous tentacles, semi-transparent and green, thick enough to require two people linking arms to hug. They would extend dozens of metres, clearly colossal entities in their own right.

Seeing these tentacles, Lu Fan involuntarily recalled a former enemy, Jin Zaixi.

This King of Extremistis Country had once transformed into a tentacled monstrosity when engaging opponents.

Jin Zaixi’s tentacles differed somewhat from those in this Secret Realm.

Jin Zaixi’s monstrous form was a physical entity.

The tentacles in this Secret Realm resembled Ghost Type entities. Though one could touch and feel them, they would dissipate upon being attacked.

Simultaneously, they could appear out of nowhere, seemingly concealed in another dimension, capable of breaking through dimensional barriers to emerge in this Secret Realm and attack Lu Fan.

These tentacles were exceptionally strange. Fortunately, they were merely Level 90 Monsters, hardly a threat to Lu Fan.

After Lu Fan studied them for a while, he had his Pet Dragons begin exterminating them. Whenever a tentacle appeared, before it could launch an attack, it would be directly annihilated.

The further forward he travelled, the more frequently these tentacles appeared, and their Levels increased accordingly.

Lu Fan spent a full three hours exploring this Secret Realm. The surroundings remained chaotic, with tentacles continuously emerging.

Furthermore, these tentacles, while their external appearance had not changed significantly, they had reached Level 150.

This meant the tentacles were equivalent to the Level Cap of Fifth Profession Players. If their Level increased further, it would indicate they had achieved their Sixth Profession Change, possessing power comparable to Divine Beings.

Clearly, these tentacles lacked such capability.

Compared to Divine Beings, they were considerably weaker.

At least, as Lu Fan and his Pet Dragons slaughtered their way through, they encountered no substantial resistance.

Of course, this was because Lu Fan and his Pet Dragons were overwhelmingly powerful.

Never mind anything else, just from the current situation Lu Fan faced, with six or seven Level 150 tentacles randomly appearing around him simultaneously to attack, even the typical Fifth Profession Player would not be able to withstand it!

Therefore, Lu Fan’s current position had definitely never been reached by anyone before.

[This Secret Realm… Even if an Ancient Noble Family devotes their full strength, they would never be able to Clear it.]

Facing such formidable Monster assaults, Lu Fan became even more certain that this place had definitely never been traversed by anyone.

However, having walked for three hours, the distance he had travelled within the Secret Realm should not have been insignificant.

Yet the Secret Realm Map showed absolutely no sign of change, leaving Lu Fan deeply puzzled.

[Since this is a Secret Realm, surely it must have an endpoint. It must have a Final Boss, right!?]

Unable to understand things for now, Lu Fan could only continue forward.

In the blink of an eye, another five hours passed.

Lu Fan remained walking through chaos. Apart from continuously appearing tentacles, nothing else existed.

However, the tentacles’ Level had not increased with his travelling distance. They had plateaued at Level 150 without further advancement.

Apparently, this was the absolute limit for Monster Levels in this Secret Realm.
