Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 842, Xiao Ye’s Profession—Heavenfall Mage!

Translator: Silavin

The enormous cloud of smoke formed by the Profession Change Array’s collapse gradually settled.

Simultaneously, the anomaly triggered by Xiao Ye’s Profession Change also began to dissipate.

It appeared the Profession Change Ceremony was proceeding normally, now approaching its conclusion.

Finally, Xiao Ye emerged from the smoke, seemingly unharmed. Though, her body bore some debris from the explosion of material, and she sadly looked somewhat disheveled.

Xiao Ye shook off the dust on her body, appearing still as adorable, then came running to Lu Fan’s side, attaching herself to him.

Seeing that Xiao Ye was fine, Lu Fan breathed a sigh of relief, then opened Xiao Ye’s Attribute Panel to check whether she had successfully had her Profession Changed.

The result naturally made Lu Fan extremely pleased. Xiao Ye had indeed successfully had her Profession Changed.

Moreover, the Profession she had changed into was a Hidden Profession he had never even heard of before, Heavenfall Mage!

Generally speaking, as long as it was a Hidden Profession, the power and potential would be much higher than ordinary Professions. Therefore, Lu Fan had high expectations regarding Hidden Professions.

He had considered that if Xiao Ye’s Profession was not a Hidden Profession, but rather an ordinary Swordsman or Fire Mage, he would find a way to obtain another Hidden Profession Change Item for Xiao Ye.

Now, that seemed to be completely unnecessary.

After all, Heavenfall Mage was not just any ordinary Hidden Profession. By the sound of it, it was an exceptionally formidable Hidden Profession!

Lu Fan continued examining Xiao Ye’s Attribute Panel, checking what kind of Skills she had gained.

On Xiao Ye’s Human Attribute Panel, there were only two Skills, but the Effects of these two Skills made Lu Fan gasp.

Heavenfall Meteor (Active Skill, LV1) – Summon a massive meteor from the sky to crash down at a designated location, causing horrific damage and inflicting Burn Effects on struck enemies.
Heavenfall Force (Active Skill, LV1) – Control gravity, manipulating it arbitrarily at designated locations, capable of Suppressing enemies. If the disparity in Strength Attribute between both parties is too great, it can cause Damage, with the Damage being proportional to the difference in their Strength Attribute.

[Holy… no wonder she is a Heavenfall Mage. Just from the name alone, I know she had become a powerful existence capable of making even Heaven fall!]

Through these two Skills, Lu Fan could already roughly discern that this Hidden Profession was an extremely unique existence. It made dual use of Strength and Mana Attributes.

Heavenfall Meteor was undoubtedly a Forbidden Spell Level Magic Damage Skill. Summoning a giant meteor to attack her enemies. If this truly ended up in the hands of a Level 10 Player, it would probably be enough for them to be invincible among their peers. After all, never mind Level 10 Players, even Secondary Profession Players, who could withstand the full might of a giant meteor?

As for the other Skill, Heavenfall Force, it was actually her being able to control gravity. Not only did it possess outstanding Crowd Control Effects, it could also cause Damage based on the disparity in Strength Attribute between both parties.

If this Skill were placed in an ordinary Mage’s hands, it would just be a regular Crowd Control Skill.

But in Xiao Ye’s hands, it was different!

Xiao Ye was a Black Dragon King. She was a Combat Specialised Dragon without weaknesses. Whether Strength or Mana Attributes, both were exceptionally high.

Furthermore, Xiao Ye could transform into her Destruction Dragon Form, doubling her Strength Attribute.

At that time, with her already terrifying Attributes, the Strength Attribute gap with her opponents would become even greater!

In short, this Heavenfall Force would undoubtedly become a Divine AoE Skill. Once gravity was deployed, it could directly crush monsters with low Strength Attributes into paste.

Moreover, Xiao Ye still had her Black Dragon Pressure Skill. She could similarly stack both Crowd Control Skills, which effectiveness were determined by her Strength Attributes.

Black Dragon Pressure combined with Heavenfall Force… Even Dragon Kings would probably find such terrifying Crowd Control Effects troublesome to deal with.

One could say that the Heavenfall Mage required the Player to possess outstanding Attributes in both Strength and Mana. For ordinary Players, this might be too difficult. After all, even Magic Swordsmen, that similarly had specialties in both Magic and Physical, did not have their Strength and Mana Attributes much higher than those of other Professions.

Most Magic Swordsmen would choose to focus in one direction while minoring in the other.

For example, Tao Xiaoman majored in Physical Combat while minoring in Magic.

She was originally a Swordsman. She possesses better understanding and experience regarding Physical Combat. So, even after she had her Profession Changed to become a Water Sword God, she had not taken the route of Magic Combat. She still focuses on Physical Combat, using Magic to aid her in battle.

Whether selecting equipment or enhancing her strength, everything was oriented towards the Strength Attribute and close-combat. As for some of her Magic Skills, she treated them all as Support Skills, helping her increase her Damage Output, Heal, or exert some Crowd Control over her enemies, and so forth.

Strictly speaking, she was still a Swordsman, She was merely a Swordsman who knew some Magic as an auxiliary.

Of course, she could also take the Magic route, equipping more items that increased her Mana and Magic Damage Output.

However, compared to some orthodox Mages, her Magic Damage would fall a little short. She could still engage in close combat. So, when facing some Mages, she would hold a considerable advantage, especially in PvP situations.

However, Tao Xiaoman did not favour the Magic route, so she had directly rejected this path from the start.

Her choice was made with her specialities and experience in mind. It was certainly an intelligent choice.

Some Magic Swordsmen wanted to develop both aspects simultaneously but often ended up doing well in neither. Lacking in both aspects, their strength might not even match that of ordinary Players.

This was normal. After all, a Player’s equipment was limited, Attributes were limited, Wanting to fully develop two directions, how difficult could that be?

However, Xiao Ye did not have this problem.

She was a Giant Dragon, moreover a Dragon King skilled in both Physical Combat and Magic Combat. The Profession Characteristics of her Heavenfall Mage Profession was truly too perfect for her!

Undoubtedly, with Xiao Ye’s Humanization, and the addition of obtaining such a formidable Hidden Profession, she had just gained an enormous boost in power.

Thinking of this, Lu Fan smiled and patted Xiao Ye’s head, praising. “Good, good, Xiao Ye. Congratulations. You’ve gotten a really powerful Hidden Profession.”

“But…” He raised his head, looking at the completely destroyed Profession Change Array and the dumbfounded Squad Leader and the others, smiling bitterly. “It seems like we’ve caused a bit of trouble. We’ve managed to destroy the Profession Change Array.”

Saying this, he walked to the Squad Leader’s side, sincerely apologising: “I’m truly sorry. It’s probably because my Little Sister’s Profession is somewhat too overwhelming, so the overflowing power destroyed this Profession Change Array. I will fully compensate for the losses.”
